POETRY SUPER HIGHWAY BOOKSTORE
B IS FOR BAD POETRY by PAMELA AUGUST RUSSELL featured this week in
the PSH Bookstore.
PSH Editor says: another guilty pleasure.
Forget Shakespeare. Donąt count on Donne. Shelley and Keats:
banished! And thereąs absolutely no poet laureate from the golden or
any other age. So fawning PhDs in love with little-understood verses
by long-dead writers should go elsewhere. This is poetry for the rest
of us‹bad poetry! Pamela Russelląs unexalted (but thoroughly
hysterical) poems mock, chide, accuse, tease, joke, undermine, point,
and laugh at the world around us‹and at anything that takes itself
too seriously. Her non-canonical oeuvre includes: Tea For Two (A
Tragedy); Nietzsche And The Ice-Cream Truck; Capitalism Can Fall Not
Like I Fell For You; Inappropriately Touched By An Angel; Love Is
Like A Toilet Bowl; and many more.
Who knew bad poetry could be so good!

PERMANENT OBSCURITY
Inspired by the underground sexploitation films of the 1960s, this
bold updating of the "roughie" subgenre and lampoon of auteur
filmmaking largely takes place in New York City's East Village (circa
2006), and it chronicles the rise and fall of a unique and intense
relationship. Dolores and Serena, two chemically dependent,
down-and-out artists set out to take control of their lives by making
a fetish-noir/femdom movie. Of course, things don't exactly turn out
as planned. For more visit: http://permanentobscurity.com/
