POETS OF THE WEEK
~ This week's featured poets are: CAROL JANICIK and BARRY GONEN
CAROL JANICIK (Wichita Falls, Texas) works as a Registered Nurse in
Women's Health and Pediatrics. Originally from New York, she
relocated to Texas in 2008.
BARRY GONEN (Kibbutz Negba, Israel) immigrated to Israel from England
in 1971. He has lived on Kibbutz Negba since 1973. He is married with
four children (3 girls, 1 boy) + 7 grandchildren..so far! Barry
teaches at Tsafit regional high school since 1978. He also serves in
the special ed. division of the 'Mercaz Limida'. He enjoys
music-songwriting, composing, archeology, gardening, photography. He
also serves with Border Police Unit as local security coordinator.

SECOND SUNDAY POETRY SERIES: This open mic poetry reading series,
hosted by Alex M. Frankel, takes place on the second Sunday of every
month at the Cafe Alibi in Old Town Pasadena. Great local and
national poets are featured. They perform their work, sell and sign
books and mingle with audience members and open mic participants.
Admission is free but there is a one drink minimum.
Next reading: May 9, 5 pm. Features: Dina Hardy, Neil Aitken and Steve
