As posted at the top of Google Groups. David Dalton may also be SOL.

Hi Nanc...do you know if posts made from google.com are considered Usenet posts? All these years I thought they were, but perhaps I am incorrect. I ASSuMEd, or perhaps I was mislead.

Either way, can you help enlighten me? It would be much appreciated.

Hello Rachel,
I would assume that posts posted to the Google version of the "Usenet" group, through it's web interface or via GMail to the Google group wouldn't be considered Usenet posts. It looks like Google is taking it's version of Usenet groups (with prior Usenet postings) and making it general Internet, not Usenet accessible.

Nancy, it means that you and other google groups users will
have to switch to a newsreader accessing a newsserver
on or before February 15. (Posting and subscribing via
google groups will be disallowed.)

Yes, apparently this is the end of Google Groups as a Usenet portal.

And so it goes.

Nova BBS and other Usenet venues will continue, only Google Groups are changing.

David Dalton will be fine, since he doesn't post from or read Google Groups, anyway.

You were right. If they're posted to aapc rap, or any other Usenet group, they're Usenet posts. They will not be allowed from Feb. 15 on;.

Asking Nancy G. for a correct answer usually doesn't end up well...

Hello Rachel, this newsgroup is exactly the same as other Usenet portals, compare to the soon to be top venue for this group, when Google Groups pulls the plug.

No, Rachel, this is still a Usenet portal until February, when Google Groups plan to unplug it.

See the same Usenet content at Nova Express BBS:

That is all.

Ah, so you are speculating that Google Groups might still keep the group name alt.arts.poetry.comments but run it without any Usenet input... that would be an interesting development, if so...!

Hello there Rachel...!

If a post is made to a Usenet group then yes it is a Usenet post and will appear all over Usenet....!

I didn't mean to humiliate you. I was going off of limited info but now that I know more, it appears that Google is stopping it's "mirrors" of Usenet groups, making them frozen archives and people will have to go back to Usenet (and not Google Groups) to post there.

Dude, speak of confusion-- that was over two weeks ago, and since then I posted revisions to my original statements. You're a little too late to lame like you always do. You just lame yourself and betray your true troll face. You must had missed my post to Rachel where I admitted to being wrong based off the little information I dad at that earlier date-- or was that was tipped you off to dig this up? Unlike you, I amend with new info, rather than cling to the same old beliefs. You're the ignorant one sayin' that Google Groups as a whole is ending, rather than just their groups based off of Usenet newsgroups. There's more to Earth and Heaven than your self centered world view. Google Groups is much larger than their newsgroups groups. While you retreat back to Usenet where dinosaurs like you belong, I will continue to use Google Groups.
Poor sWilly and Dunce scouring the group lookin' for anything to try to get at me and all they do is lame their selves in the process. I couldn't ask for more helpful fools for foes!!

So two weeks ago you were confused, until George Dance and David Dalton corrected you and set the record straight.
