OK, I now have all of these groups in a Hogwasher
“Subscription” that I have titled “poetry”. That
way I will see a crosspost to more than one of
the groups only once. And I probably won’t
read everything. I hope that my creativity will
return soon and that this time it will include the
ability to finish projects.

Some of my old “poetry fragments” are on

https://www.nfld.com//~dalton/poemfrag.html

and some of my old stream of consciousness writing,
best skimmed (about a megabyte of plain text) is on

https://www.nfld.com//~dalton/fte.txt

I'm familiar with that problem, although I personally don't consider it a problem...

We are not the ones welcoming David Dalton to a newsgroup that he has been subscribed to for 20 years.

I was posting to the group but wasn’t reading it, wasn’t checking
it for followups, in my recent posts, until last night. That is
possible with a newsreader (I use Hogwasher in St. John’s
and MT-NewsWatcher in Lake View) but less likely with
google groups (which I rarely use). I was checking some
of the other groups I crossposted (not possible on google
groups any more) to, including rec.arts.poems.

Dockery doesn't give a rat's patootie about David Dalton being here, other than it's another opportunity to post inane nothings.

BTW, what is the purpose of "posting to the group but wasn't reading it, wasn't checking it for followups?" NancyGene and Jayme would like to know, and also pose this question to Ilya Shambat. That seems like spamming to us.

Just like with his so called "Usenet friend" Ron Roach? Where he and Zod stood by and let Dance make up the worst lies about him-- all so to get at me? The damned fools cannot challenge me so they resort to the lowliest LoseNet troll tricks.

I proposed a peace treaty.

You voiced your demands, and I modified the treaty to include them.

You said that the treaty seemed fair.

NancyGene agreed to the terms of the treaty.

However, you refused to sign it.

You didn't give your reasons, you didn't engage in further negotiations. You simply dropped out of the negotiations.

Why?

So you could continue to troll the group?

Again, actions speak louder than words.

This is the first I've seen of David Fruitcake's reply.

No, David, I would not call poets who are also mystics fruitcakes.

I happen to be a poet who is also a mystic.

Your friends Will and Zod call me "Voodoo Boy" and accuse me of being "delusional" for believing in, and practicing, Magick.

I didn't call you a fruitcake because of your Druidic religion. I called you a fruitcake because you believe that cross-posting your beliefs to a handful of Usenet groups (Usenet has been on life support for the past 20 years) is somehow going to usher in a new age of Paganism.

Anyone who thinks that posting on Usenet is going to change the world, is totally crackers. It is indicative of a self-absorbed, narcissistic psyche with (obvious) delusions of grandeur. The world doesn't revolve around Usenet, much less David Dalton.

The world barely knows that Usenet exists, and has no idea that David Dalton does.

You're fooling yourself into believing that you are accomplishing anything -- simply because your posts here generate responses. Think about it: you come to a group of approximately 10 to 12 people, buddy up with the trolls, and insist that you're going to make off-topic posts in spite of multiple requests to follow the guidelines, and you're going to generate responses.

But all you're doing is pissing off 5 or 6 people in a group with less than a dozen members. You might as well sound off in your local supermarket for all the good that it's accomplishing.

Ask the late, unlamented Pickles how delusional it looks, Donkey.

A death curse is no more delusional than any other form of magick.

If you claim that I'm delusional for practicing Magick, then you must believe that David Dalton is delusional as well.

That's arguable on both counts. The man lives under a piece of tarp, for cryin' out loud.

You prove your illiteracy here over and over again ("Dorian Grey"!).

Have you read "The Golden Bough," "The White Goddess," or "The Power of Myth"?

As per usual, you have pretended to be a Shaman, and have subsequently attacked Magick as "delusional" -- yet you have never bother to read any of literature that pertains to it.

You'd lose.

Most prospective readers get sick to death of wading through 40 "Hello Jordy" posts a day (and other off-topic bullshit).

Here's the straight dope:

AAPC is in a state of war between the poets (who want to use it as a poetry discussion group) and Will Dockery who wants to use it as his personal webpage.

Over the course of the past 25 year, Will has managed to drive all of the poets away at least twice. He does this by spamming AAPC with b.s. posts, burying everyone else's poetry and conversations, picking fights, and bringing non-poet friends into the group to help him.

Will has recently driven Jim Senetto out of the group with his b.s. There are very few of us left, and we're all getting fed up with him, so when someone buddies up with Will and contributes to his OT content, we're not going to welcome them with open arms.

But if you're hinting that you're willing to learn the ropes, then I welcome a fellow mystic and poet to our group.

Why can’t you just skip the posts of those you don’t want
to read? That is one advantage of Usenet, you
have a list of subject lines with names of posters,
and you can skip over them even in google groups and
killfile them if you have a good newsreader. I
read less than 5% of posts on alt.atheism.

I’l try to be on-topic when posting to this newsgroup but I
will continue to occasionally crosspost to other poetry
groups, less likely to non-poetry groups (though I could
to mental health groups to get a discussion going on
the mental health of historical poets, for example).
But this is not one of my main groups, so I think I
will rarely post here, unless my poetic creativity returns.

Some of my “poem fragments”, some done when I was
hypomanic, are on

https://www.nfld.com//~dalton/poemfrag.html .

But though I had good wordplay ability then, I often
didn’t really finish projects, and I hope my creativity
will return soon and that it will include the ability
to stick to and finish projects.

No, he didn't. Will claims that NancyGene and I are "malicious trolls" and refuses to respond to posts in any of our threads.

This created a problem for Will because he also feels compelled to "set the record straight" by responding to our "lies."

Will solved the problem by 1) responding to the posts in our threads, and then, 2) copy/pasting them to a new thread.

It doesn't actually resolve anything -- and it makes twice as many threads for everyone to repeat the same posts in... but that's Donkey logic for you.

We do.

I use Google Groups (I find it much more user friendly than newsreaders), but I block/report all of Will's/Jordy's/Stinky George's threads -- and any of our threads that they've usurped with their "hello" posts.

The problem is that some of us want to attract new members to the group.

Several years ago (seven?) Jim Senetto got the idea to start a thread where everyone could stop their fighting and post a poem each week. He called this thread "The Sunday Sampler."

I thought it was a stupid idea, since AAPC was supposed to be a forum for posting poetry, and the "Sampler" thread seemed like a mini-AAPC stuck in the middle of AAPC.

But it turned out that Jim's idea was brilliant, and "The Sampler" was a rousing success. It attracted several new/former members to the group, and became the most popular thread.

Jim's poetry was universally liked (as was Jim himself), and he quickly became the most popular member of AAPC, and also (to some extent) its leader.

Will couldn't stand for this, and started picking fights with Jim, and flooding the group with his b.s. posts (slurps, thank yous, hellos, etc.). And, guess what? He drove Jim, and most of the other members, away (including me); and shut down "The Sunday Sampler." Eventually Jim and I came back.

Jim restarted "The Sampler," and Will got back to his old tricks: picking fights with Jim over he content until he got banned from participating in it. Stinky George got himself banned as well. In the ensuing flame wars more members left -- including Jim.

I took over "The Sampler," but Jim thought his idea should rest in peace, so it was revamped as "A Year of Sundays." "AYoS" publishes the poetry from each month's AAPC thread in an ezine format, and has a "Best of" year end issue that is published in print.

My goal is to attract new poets to AAPC with "AYoS" bringing in new voices as "The Sampler" once did. But I can't do it when Will and his cronies drive potential members away.

You have to bear in mind that potential members coming to AAPC are not going to have Will/Stink/Jordy on killfile. They're going to visit the group, see that 98% are posts where Will says "Hello" to Jordy and thanks Zod "for the nod" to Will's poem. And nobody is going to want to join a group with nothing more to offer than a couple of retards greeting each other 12 times a day.

And don't think that Will and his stooges aren't doing this to *intentionally* drive new members away -- and to troll the members that are here. They are. Whenever one of us complains about the "Hello" posts, Will doubles them. Whenever someone complains about having their conversations buried, Will and his crew will bump over 100 of their old threads to bury us even further. He's not the poor little innocent that he pretends to be.

I've found that writing poetry for "The Sunday Sampler"/"A Year of Sundays" has increased my poetic output 100-fold. Since March of 2020 I've written 250 poems for "A Year of Sundays." That's more than a third of the poems that I've written over the course of my life. The idea that I've got a publication to contribute a new poem to not only inspires, but *forces* me to write.

You should give it a try. Write a poem for the September issue of "AYoS" (you have to post it to the Submissions thread before the month is over). Set yourself a time each day when you work on the poem -- even if you only add a couple of words. Just remember that you've got a deadline and keep at it. The first few poems might not be up to your standard... but the more you do it, the easier it gets -- and the poems improve as a result.

The "skip and ignore" policy, except that while you skip, you also need to learn how to ignore.

> The problem is that some of us want to attract new members to the group.

Except that Nancy Gene obviously immediately attempted to drive David Dalton away from the poetry group.

Why do you lie and misrepresent so much, Michael Pendragon?

> Several years ago (seven?) Jim Senetto got the idea to start a thread where everyone could stop their fighting and post a poem each week

Which was a good idea, basically.

> Will couldn't stand for this, and started picking fights with Jim

A lie, as it was Senetto who picked any fights we had here, obsessed nutjob that he is.

> Will got back to his old tricks: picking fights with Jim

Another lie, Pendragon, but that's what you do, after all.

The archives will show that Jim Senetto is an obsessive nutjob who always instigated the flames, attacks, and when he'd finally melt down, his violent fantasies and threats.

> In the ensuing flame wars more members left -- including Jim

Along with the many poets you and your malicious troll friends drove away, see below for a partial list of poets Michael Pendragon and his gang drove away, just as they intended to drive David Dalton away.

You forgot to mention that the last thing Jim Senetto did before he left was suggest that poet George Dance be"shot in the head."

As I said, Jim Senetto is an obsessive nutjob with violent fantasies.

> My goal is to attract new poets

Yet your friend Nancy Gene immediately attempted to drive David Dalton away as soon as he arrived.

In other words, another one of your lies and misrepresentations, Pendragon. You and your fellow trolls are the ones driving new members away, to name a few your gang has driven away: Vinyl Cat, Antti, Karen, Mack, Philo... the list goes on.

When David Dalton arrived, he and everyone else could see that the malicious stalker troll Nancy Gene immediately went on the attack, to begin to try and drive Dalton away.

Again, why do you lie and misrepresent so much, Michael Pendragon?

That's not what I said, Donkey.

You do read and respond to what you label "troll threads"... you just start a new thread (note that the conversation was "moved from a troll thread") and respond to it a second time.

> > This created a problem for Will because he also feels compelled to "set the record straight" by responding to our "lies."

I tell it like it is, Donk. You just don't want to recognize, or admit to, the truth.

Except that you do post on it.
No one can ignore that you're burying all of the group conversations under a 100 posts a day.

> > The problem is that some of us want to attract new members to the group.
> Except that Nancy Gene obviously immediately attempted to drive David Dalton away from the poetry group.

She requested that he not cross-post off-topic threads here.

And, like I said, we've all come to look with suspicion on those with whom you seem to be on friendly terms.

> Why do you lie and misrepresent so much, Michael Pendragon?
> > Several years ago (seven?) Jim Senetto got the idea to start a thread where everyone could stop their fighting and post a poem each week

Which was why you shut "The Sampler" down and drove Jim out of the group.

> > Will couldn't stand for this, and started picking fights with Jim
> A lie, as it was Senetto who picked any fights we had here, obsessed nutjob that he is.

Jim asked you not to post the poems you submitted to "The Sampler" in other threads until after the issue containing them had closed. You refused.

Had you ever had any poetry accepted by a real magazine, you would know that such is the standard procedure for both large and small press journals.

> > Will got back to his old tricks: picking fights with Jim

The archives will show that everyone was supposed to submit a new poem to "The Sampler" on a topic chosen by one of the contributors. You began dusting off your "poems" from the 1970s and 80s, changed a word or two in them so that they would mention the topic of the week and submit them.

When Jim insisted that you submit a new poem, you threw a hissyfit and got yourself banned.

> > In the ensuing flame wars more members left -- including Jim

Your list is a joke and will be discussed below.

> You forgot to mention that the last thing Jim Senetto did before he left was suggest that poet George Dance be"shot in the head."

As well he should -- although that would be too good for him. He really deserves to have a slow, painfully lingering death that all of us can savor.

> As I said, Jim Senetto is an obsessive nutjob with violent fantasies.

Jim isn't here, Donkey. Why are you still trolling him?

> > My goal is to attract new poets
> Yet your friend Nancy Gene immediately attempted to drive David Dalton away as soon as he arrived.

He appeared to be yet another one of your recruits.

> In other words, another one of your lies and misrepresentations, Pendragon. You and your fellow trolls are the ones driving new members away, to name a few your gang has driven away: Vinyl Cat, Antti, Karen, Mack, Philo... the list goes on.
>

Vinyl Cat was not a poet. She was one of the semi-derelict drunkards you and Stinky George booze with in Columbus. In one of her first (if not her very first) post, she (apparently having been coached by you) challenged the rest of us to "bring it on!" She attempted to write a poem (which she admitted was the first she'd ever tried to write) and failed at it miserably.

Antti was a terrible poet. He identified with Stinky George, because if his government hadn't provided him with free housing, he'd have been living under a piece of blue tarp as well; and got upset when I made fun of George. He also attempted to "stalk" me (searching the internet for personal information) which makes him a "malicious troll" in your book.

Karen got along with pretty much everyone. She certainly got along with NancyGene and me. Karen didn't give her reasons for leaving the group, but I believe that she didn't like being in the middle of a flame war. I also believe that she got tired of sticking up for you and Stinky when you both ignored her repeated attempts to get you to stop overposting, bumping, and flaming others. Karen is an extremely talented poet, and I think we all miss her participation here.

Mack was not a poet. Mack was a contentious whack job who boasted about his wealth and launched personal attacks on anyone who dared to question any of his posts.

Philo... was a friend of the Dunce. He barely interacted with anyone, and only posted one or two poems before leaving.

Except for Karen, we're better off without any of the above.

> When David Dalton arrived, he and everyone else could see that the malicious stalker troll Nancy Gene immediately went on the attack, to begin to try and drive Dalton away.
>

You keep saying that, Donkey.

> Again, why do you lie and misrepresent so much, Michael Pendragon?

You keep saying this, as well.

What's that quote for Goebbels that Dunce is fond of repeating? "If you repeat a lie often enough, people will start to believe it."

The truth, Donkey, is that you bring all of this on yourself. You accuse NancyGene and me of being "malicious trolls," yet you attack Jim Senetto who has left AAPC. You refuse to see that it takes two sides to have a war -- and that your side is hardly turning the proverbial cheek.

You claim that you're following Dunce's "ethical system" of Tit for Tat, yet refuse to see that each of your "Tits" is going to be met with a retaliatory "Tit" from those you've leveled it at. Tit for Tat is a self-perpetuating system that requires both sides to respond to the other in kind.

It's too bad that you're unable to see past your own Tits.

I corrected your lies and misrepresentations and set the record straight here.

You sound paranoid, and Nancy Gene sounds like a malicious troll trying to drive David Dalton away from the poetry newsgroups.

Karen gave the poster known as "ME" as the reason she was leaving, and mentioned that fsct a couple of times.

Mack, like Jordy, was a poetry reader who posted poems he'd chosen, and participated in discussions.

Wrong, Philo appeared here on and off for years, and posted many poems and discussion posts.

You revealed why you wanted Philo gone, though, he's a friend of George Dance, your enemy.

Wrong, liar..

I'm only correcting your lies and misrepresentations about what happened between me and Jim Senetto.

At all times Senetto was the aggressor, he made the personal attacks and violent fantasy threats, which is why George Dance named him Jim Obsesso.

You've used AAPC to greet Jordy literally 1,000s of times.

You've used it to discuss changes/correction to be made in your chapbook with the editor who was publishing it.

You've used it to make plans to meet Stinky George at the local bar, or the fountain, or your shed.

You've used it to discuss how late the local Waffle House was open.

You've used it to reminisce with Stinky about various old friends you both had.

You've used it to discuss Stinky's trips to Florida.

You've used it to discuss Barfly's coming to Columbus.

In short, you've used it to discuss pretty much everything *except* poetry.

No, dumbass. One cannot ignore a daily barrage of spam-posts that effectively push all of the actual poetry-related discussions back to the third page of the newsfeed.

It's a matter of experience, Donkey.

You've brought the Late, Unlamented Pickles, Mack A. Damia, Stinky George, Jordy's pervy uncle, Vinyl Cunt, and a dozen other imbecilic, illiterate trolls to AAPC over the years.

The archives show that you did, Donkey.

No, Donkey, you haven't.

You published your own poetry in photocopied "small press" format.

You published your own poetry in a free, events listings paper in which you had an unpaid column.

Your friend published your poetry in a chapbook.

No poetry magazine (large or small) has ever published any of your work.

You were submitting "poetry" you'd written over 40 years ago (with a word or two changed to include the topic of the week).

You did not, Donkey. That's why you were banned.

It is possible for us to discuss Jim without you launching into an attack on him.

Jim is to you and President Trump is to Jordy.

She wrote one "poem" which she claimed was her first attempt to write a poem. Judging by her skills, it was probably her first attempt to write anything.

> > Antti was a terrible poet
>
> In your opinion only, not mine or several others here.

Only you and your stooges -- and it's a well known fact that none of you actually read the poems you slurp.

> > Karen got along with pretty much everyone. She certainly got along with NancyGene and me

ME provided her with a convenient (and diplomatic) excuse.

Mack was a belligerent wannabe scholar and Pickles redux. The only things Jordy has ever "discussed" are President Trump and his beloved Communist Party.

I didn't want Philo gone, Donkey. I barely took note of him. I only remember him at all because I looked him up after either you or Dunce had claimed I'd driven him away.

You're the one who keeps repeating himself, Donkey.

I offered you a treaty, accepted your demands, gave you every opportunity to negotiate further, and received your tentative approval... yet you bowed out at the last minute without so much as an explanation.

Actions speak louder than words, Donkey. Your actions show that you *want* to keep AAPC a battleground.

You're repeating yourself again, Herr Goebbels.

You called him "an obsessive nutjob with violent fantasies" (scroll up a little and see for yourself).

Dunce called him "Obsesso" for the same reason that you've accused everyone and their brother of being obsessed with you -- it's a buzzword that gets you a response.

Snipped for focus and to correct some of the lies and misrepresentations Pendragon is trying to slip in :

Vinyl Cat has written poetry for years, as well as creating art. The reception here was so harsh, with the agenda to drive newcomers away in place, she only posted a couple of poems here.

Antti is another (in my opinion, a good one) poet, a long time Usenet regular, who you and your troll friends drove away with their malicious attacks.

Vinyl Cat presented herself as being antagonistic to the group in her first post. She basically said something to the effect of "Hi, I'm Vinyl Cat. I'm the toughest, baddest, badass bitch in the bunch and can go toe-to-toe with anyone here so bring it on!"

Naturally, several of us accepted the challenge.

Sure, I can, Ash.

You're just making shit up as you go along, as usual.

HTH and HAND.

Damn will, don’t you just hate it when you get called out for doing the same thing you’re accusing others of doing?
Life’s a real bitch some days, isn’t it?

My observation of poetry and art is much more inclusive than yours, I see both poetry and art as the creative expression of the creator of the poem, each poem and work of art gives us another view, from a new perspective...

That is all.

IOW: A poem needn't be well written, or even intelligible -- it need only reflect its creator's unique perspective.

I've really got to track down my "Spotted Lady with a Spotted Baby" drawing, and post it for your comments.

Since everyone has 25 posts a day, Jordy could post his links to the Poetry Foundation, youtube, etc., which the majority of us can skip and ignore. If you want to use one of your 25 posts to thank him for posting a link to a poem we're all familiar, you may do so.

He pretended to be a shaman? I hope not. I know someone who's a descendant of actual shamans, aka medicine or wise men, and Dockery ain't no shaman. But it is funny to see a New Ager, who cliams to have a spirit guide, diss on Magick and the Unseen (Fae).

He co-published a "poetry journal" (although he was the only contributor) called "Shaman" in the 1990s; and purported to be a shaman or warlock or something when posting under his "Ironywaves" persona (early 2000s).

He actually seemed more intelligent back in his Ironywaves period. I suspect that he suffered some drug-related brain damage back around 2005 or so -- most likely due to having been temporarily brain dead from a drug overdose.

It's an observation, Donkey.

"Ironywaves" had his grammatical faults, but he still seemed much more intelligent than the Donkey I've known for the past 10 years. What happened?

No, it's an attempted smear, a lie and a misrepresentation, Pendragon.

Nothing new for you, just your typical shit slinging.

"Ironywaves" made more-or-less original statements, appeared to have some familiarity with the topics being discussed, and didn't rely on the same, tired, second-handed catch-phrases as you do.
