Indoctrination starts in the cradle.
Do not shout. Smile,
After you've pissed your pants
School is good
You need education
You need submission
Money and power rules the world
The stick and the carrot
On your back, in your sight
Stop focusing on the carrot
And punishment awaits

And so it goes

Brainwashed since birth
Brainwashed to the grave
recycled in plastic
remade in greed

and so it goes
and Mega City is forever

No it isn't. The megacity was only created a year ago, so clearly it
isn't forever (ie eternal) and as for forever (ie everlasting), it is
at the whim of fickle provincial governments, so I doubt it will be
around in its form 100 years from now, let along forever..

... ... In that case, we could as we would as definetely we should call the
things by their own nomination, which is, in the first has had attempt to
the blindness of people with giving to them, that as nomination the
COMMUNISM, then to make it, once again more credible, is to change little
bit the nomination, as it does becomes the SOCIALISM!!!!!!!!!!!............
...
Therefore, as everybody knows never TWO without the THIRD follows, but in
that case of the third has had been more complicate for them and they
started only to play with the second step as word, and in which they arrive
to make that word SOCIALISM , whatever, it does sound that it would be more
credible for people to believe, then they start to call : SOCIAL...
..something, or SOCIAL.... ..someway, or just SOCIALISM instead of
COMMUNISM, and the fighting with people is going on , in the cover of
making them to fight with each others, to make them more business - TV &
Newspapers ... ETC, and it does becomes to be almost general on the
GLOBE!!!!!!!!!! ..... ... ...

" ... ... The most greatest lie, the most big number of people believe it

P.S- The deal in that matter, is strictly as systematicly global as major

When does a city become a Mega-city? I'd always assumed it was when two
large cities got joined together through mutal expansion, but that
didn't happen in Toronto, did it? Oh, and the mega-city as a concept
dates from the late 70s and the dawn of Cyberpunk.

Why is that genius? Are you being sarcastic here? He's merely stating
an opinion, which is neither new or newly expressed. It is mundane,
not genius. Or if I'm missing something, please tell.

He asked me if I understood,
between cigarettes,
that society -
power and money -
it fucks your head -
it spits the pieces just
out of reach.
Corporate greed,
Consumer life styles...

I almost answered,
But he eyes looked so close
to breaking.
I went back to my coffee.
Watched him leave -
Searching for everything else
to blame.

Eat life
the world is in your head.

Much before that. As far as I recall it's the stage beyond a
Metropolis. A metropolis is just a big city, a Mega City is covering at
least a continent. And as in my interpretation, (almost) the entire
Earth.

Agreed. I believe he was a lot like he was shiwn in the The Doors'
movie, distant and not very well connected to Life. In that he was

No, Campbell's soup cans are indoctrination. It's all part of a subtle

You seem to be pretty good at putting words down correctly. Now the
next problem is to put the words into an order which expresses a
rational thought. As you see, this is a bit more difficult. Keep
trying! You may eventually get there.

Nah, they're true genius. I mean, there's this normal size soup can,
right, and then you add some water and there's like twice as much soup
as in an ordinary can of the same size. It's a miracle of advanced
technology.

I can see that you are making the effort, and that is very good. But
what you say still is rather far from making sense. Your use of the
word "perfect" is rather medieval. Modern concepts lead more toward
the asymptotic approach to a certain goal and by that system of
reality, perfection in the old sense is unattainable. One can be a
compliant citizen, but a good citizen would naturally incorporate an
element of random (and by that, frequently unsocial) behavior which is
essential in any non-static society. I personally do not kill, but
sometimes I imagine it might be necessary and I would leave that to
those professionals who are adept in this area. The police and the
army perform these functions and I have no talent in this direction.
Also, one does not learn others to do something, one teaches. I
usually do not smile randomly as others look at me askance if I do so
without cause. Of course, you do, on occasion, give me cause.
Keep up the good work! You may realize rationality in the near future
with effort.

MW. Misc.writing. The newsgroup you chose as one of the the
unfortunate targets of your pome (or whatever it was).

So "MW rule" doesn't mean that "MW rules", it means that there is a
rule in the misc.writing FAQ that says you shouldn't port your work in
the group. There are better places for that kind of thing. For your
thing, though, I'd suggest you to recycle the paper or reformat the HD
as quickly as possible. Try low-level formatting, btw, so you won't be
tempted to change your mind later.

Although your capabilities with words seems to be declining and your
attempts at rationality never did amount to much - it seems to be an
area you should avoid since your forebrain (on evidence of your posts)
is radically lacking in major architectural components, you seem to
have unwittingly stumbled on an interesting use of punctuation as a
poetic element. I give you, for example, the following limerick based
on your discovery.

!!!@! ^&*^*** ((()#$@ &^ *(
### ^&* #@! ^^&*& _ *(
### @!!!!! &*( ^& @# _
%^&#$ @#!!! }}} {{_ _
#$%@&^^ @! ^^% # *(

As you can see, it follows the standard limerick rhyme scheme, but,
like all your other posts, is entirely devoid of intelligence and
therefor it seems to be a natural medium for your creative efforts.
There does seem to be an emotional element that can be teased out with
close inspection, and this too should satisfy your creative efforts
since I detect emotional capabilities in your publications. Please
pursue these possibilities as you seem to be talented in this
direction. I would, of course, on evidence of your posts, be
extremely hesitant of entering any architectural structure you might
have designed. Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Well, that is that," says Baba Fats,
Sitting back down on his stone,
Facing another thousand years
Of talking to God alone.
"It seems, Lord", says Fats,
"It's always the same,
Old men or bright-eyed youth,
It's always easier to sell them some shit
Than it is to give them the truth."

This is great! The warrior poets meet by the shores of Styx, the river
of knowledge and Death and Life, throving themselves into its boiling
waters.

I like "a once of love." It sounds very e.e.cummingsish.

What threw me was the reference to 'tons' in the same line. Sorry

Nice try, but the last line doesn't rhyme and is slightly off scan.

So you run into this problem often, do you? Well, then, Steve,
perhaps you should take a clue from that. It has nothing to do with
us being anal-retentive or any such thing. It DOES have a great deal
to do with us having some respect for the language and the medium, and
some pride in our work.

No matter *how* good or profound your message is, your lack of regard
for such basic things as grammar and spelling will detract from it.
Such errors show you don't care enough to take the time to make sure
it's done properly. You simply let stuff fall out of your head and
onto the page or screen, and then you're done with it, satisfied that
your deathless words will carry your message to the masses.

Sorry, Steve, but it doesn't work that way. No editor or legitimate
publisher is ever going to take you seriously if you can't or won't
take the time to get the basics right. And refusing to do even that
much insults your readers. It also makes you look foolish and, though
I'm sure you're probably quite literate, sloppy work can make even a
very literate person appear at a glance to be borderline illiterate.
That's what an editor sees when he or she takes a glance at your work,
and your work will promptly go from the slushpile to the circular
file.

You may not need to concern yourself with such things if your usual
medium is performance poetry - your audience can't see carelessly
amateurish mistakes when you are speaking the words. But when you try
to shift to another mode and present your work in a text medium, then
you'd better clean up the mistakes and get it right. A reading
audience is going to shut you off and shut you out if they have to
constantly mentally edit your work before they can figure out what it
was you *meant* to say with that misspelled word or that misplaced
punctuation.

And if you don't want the criticism, then don't post your work where
people like editors and proofreaders and teachers are likely hanging
about. Like here in misc.writing (MW). Not that your work belongs
here, anyway, since posting work is prohibited by our charter and
posting guidelines (though it is perfectly permissible and welcome if
you want to post a short note in MW, telling us that you have posted
work elsewhere, and inviting us to come read it). Next time, check
out such things as the charter and posting guidelines before you
decide to post your work to a group with which you're not very
familiar. Know your audience, Steve. It's one of the cardinal rules
of all writing. Know your audience. Remember that. And take more
care with the little details in your work, and then maybe all of us
anal-retentive, pedantic spelling and punctuation and grammar nags
would get off your back.

You will notice that I am not addressing your message here at all,
since I doubt you really care what my opinion of it is and you're
certainly entitled to your views. I am only pointing out that you
need to get off that high horse of yours and get real and take a bit
more care, a bit more pride, in the details of your work if you ever
really want to get anywhere with it.

Speaking of your Message, maybe you ought to read your own stuff, and
maybe believe it.

I rather be the subject of criticism, than a critic.

Steve, I didn't say that. All I said was about did you mean 'an ounce'
and in reply to your post about that, that I tend to take things too
literally. Surely none of the above offended you.

I think what they are saying can be equally illustrated by the
following example, taken from your reply apparently directed to me:

This is a tacit for morons who hate your message, so they rag on
technicalities.

I presume you meant tactic. Tacit, of course, means implied
without saying. Unless that's what you actually meant. Nina

This is great stuff. You should consider the Flame Wars Form Letters
thread on MW.

Imagine that, God's illiterate gift to literature.

I know I'm dealing with a genus. Just not the genus Homo sapiens.

Are we Mr. Morris' "gang"? Doesn't it conjure up an image of Mr. Morris
entering the MWVille Bar and Dive, bellying up to the bar, and ordering
"a once of wiskhey, Bearkeep!". Meanwhile the whole place has gone
quiet, while the denizens try to make some sense of the new guy.

Luckily, there is no legal drinking age in MWVille. "You want something
to eat with that?" says Geno, the bartender.

"Yeah, gimmy a bole of f**k. Make it hott!"

Meanwhile, Wendy the Little Book Girl goes and tugs on his sleeve.
"Dictionary, Sir? You look like you need one."

Don't sweat it, Nina. This kid is fun!

Jeez, Bill, give credit where it's due. It's MaBearkeep. Nina

You know Bill ? Words kill, so why don't you talk to yourself. I refuse
to do a dance of repartee with your raggedy ass, thats called a face.
Unless your Jewish or Black...your not funny. That goes for the rest of
you nitwits who like to play a game of verbal tag. Any reply from you,
Ill Bill, I will shun to the max.
