Fabulous, Michael! Thank you for all of your hard work on this fine project.

We see that there is a slightly different layout to the poems for September, which we like. We also see that the painting used on the site is "Autumn Leaves," by John Millais (1856), owned by the Manchester Art Gallery, Manchester, England.

Thanks, NancyGene. The layout was due to the number/length of poems received. Adding a second column was the only way I could fit them all in.

That's wonderful that the AYoS headquarters attracted so many poems!

Hopefully it's also inspired almost as many *new* poems. I wrote/submitted 10 poems last month; which, while not a record, is still pretty darned good.

I need to return to Facebook and let the new poets know they don't labor alone-- I actually dedicated some verse to them.

Some how I missed "Player Slayer," but once I saw it on the monthly page, I had to show it around-- it was a hit!

We are pleased that it "scored." We will have Wednesday record it and send it to you.

Cool!
I wonder if my work would interest her enough for her to want to recite it. I think she would be more of a Pendragonian* sonnet fan :(

*was it a Pendragonian sonnet that is his trademark style? I can't remember at this moment.

Both.

A "Pendragonian Sonnet" consists of 3 sets of 5 lines with the following rhyme scheme: ABABC DEDEC FGFGC. It's one line longer than the traditional sonnet, and one line shorter than Meredith's.

There is also an ABBAC DEEDC FGGFC variation.

However, I've been writing more traditional sonnets this year,

We have tried warning shots and wounding shots, and neither stopped the enemy. We will now try the curved Turko Mongol saber.

Pissbums only need to be chucked off a cliff. No tomb needed.
