Great work--thank you, Michael, for doing this for the good of poetry!

We see that the painting for this month is "At the First Touch of Winter, Summer Fades Away," painted by Valentine Cameron Prinsep (1897). It is oil on canvas and is owned by Gallery Oldham in the UK. It's a fairly large painting--74.41 x 53.54 inches.

We love the effect of the falling flower petals!

Those poets who want their poems included in the book have only a few weeks left to submit their best work.

Those are good. I was drawn to it for its allusion to the Persephone-Hades story.

We wish we could hire Winter to put her touch on some people.

The weather's been going off the rails for some time now. Perhaps this year, Georgia will get clobbered by some unforeseen blizzard and buried in 6 feet of snow.

Weird weather could concentrate on 1681 Forestside Drive, Columbus, GA 31907 and along the river bank by the library. Flash freeze before anyone could move. Limbs break off, heads roll.

I never thought I'd say this, but... BRING ON COLD!!!

Cold concentrated in one particular area (or two targeted areas). No one will miss them, even when spring comes.

As the late unlamented Pickles pointed out, trash will be composted.

Garbage inside/garbage outside. "He never ate the white meat."

But he smoked the white sausage plenty of times.

But only in Canada or off-shore.

Of course. He'll be shot on sight if he comes within 1000 yards of the US border.

We think that ME has friends on the border patrol who are excellent shots. As ass shot is just as effective as anywhere else.

Yes, aiming for his brain should prove effective.
