Good list of poets, perhaps with 2015 here, we should all take a Saturday afternoon and list our own favorites here?

I'll look for my list, others may follow suit.

I agree with Will that it's high time for a new list.

So here's mine:

Edgar A. Poe
Walt Whitman
William Blake
Robert Herrick
Andrew Marvell
Algernon Charles Swinburne
Kevin N. Roberts
Edward Fitzgerald
William Ernest Henley
Eugene Field
Bliss Carman
Gertrude Hall
Robert L. Stevenson
John Keats
George Gordon, Lord Byron
Alfret, Lord Tennyson
Rudyard Kipling
Samuel Taylor Coleridge
Louise I. Webster
James Whitcomb Riley
Gerard Manley Hopkins

*Just off the top of my head, I'm sure I'm leaving off several other favorites.

Considering every word PJR wrote was a lying misrepresentation of me and my life (except perhaps the ages, since I have no idea how old PJR is) I would think "delusional" might actually fit him better than me, along with a touch of obsession.

Sure, here are four that I have handy, and I can post a few dozen more, if you're that interested:

"Will Dockery's voice is unique and fantastic to me in a Spacerock context, some ambient type Spacerock is a riff that builds and changes sometime ever so slightly and is hypnotic. Psychedelic/Spacerock is not for everyone, Will always picks up o...n the flow of the song and slowly changes with us and spews a poetic beat vibe to it. The T.O.T.M. (Theatre Of The Mind) album will be a acquired taste, kinda like an Alien stew with wierd stuff in it and unrecognizable shapes and textures. Or like a Alien child coming out of a human and the suprised looks on the family and medical staff as they realize that this aint no ordinary baby. Basically this album is for the Lava lamp and the Colorwheels."
- Brian Fowler, T.O.T.M. (Theatre Of The Mind}

""...The Shadowville All-Stars and their insane menagerie of pickers, strummers, drummers, bangers, trumpeters, trombonists, chanters, singers, freaks, faux-Indian dancers [...] colorful costumed cacophony of chaos that rolled from the [...] stage out to the performance area and up the hill to the kitchen and on out over the pond before it dissipated into the ether..." -Katy Clyde, ChattyHoochee Mama

"In my opinion Will Dockery is easily one of the most authentic American poets around. A real coffeehouse poet who is not scared of mingling some real American elements such as country music into his poetry." -M.H.Benders
- Martijn Benders, Kannibaal.com

"...eclectic, imagery-laden, neo-beatific poems. Chain-smoking, spontaneously gesturing towards make-believe objects and addressing imaginary characters [...] gravel-throated limp, a rolling, bluesy romp in the swamp [...] pool halls, bridges, tragedies, lost love, relationships. "
- Larry Caddell, Columbus Community News

Again, I'll post a few more, later.

Thanks for the critique, PJR, although it looks like you just copy and paste the same one over and over, if it generates enough interest in the reader to want to have a look and find out for themselves, then I appreciate the publicity, although of course, you can only jealously whine your negativity about it.

I always got a bit of a kick out of Larkin's "Dockery and Son" poem:

"...'Dockery was junior to you,
Wasn't he?' said the Dean. 'His son's here now.'
Death-suited, visitant, I nod. 'And do
You keep in touch with--' Or remember how
Black-gowned, unbreakfasted, and still half-tight
We used to stand before that desk, to give
'Our version' of 'these incidents last night'?"

Hello, lying hypocrite Peter... funny you are never around when real copyright abuse of poetry is happening, or you defend the theft and abuse, as you have the plagiarism of my "Karma Bombs" poem.

For example, Fred Hall copy-and-pasted the entire "Howl" poem with nothing more than a top this" comment, and you either ignored or defended that, I don't remember which:

Yeah, your Revenge Nominations make you feel all warm and fuzzy, do they?

To be honest, all that bores me... this was supposed to be a poetry newsgroup, but since you apparently can't manage any poetry...

It helps put some distance from the topics of real interest you can't explain, also, such as the fact that you're a copyright infringer who claims he can sing?

The former was proven, while the latter, unfortunately, has not.

And... so it goes.

Hello Michael, I just found an earlier "best of" list of poets you posted, some repeats, some different, which I think you might enjoy reviewing and perhaps adding to.
