Post links* to Easter poems BY AAPC MEMBERS. Leave out anything aimed at other members. I don't need poems about them poisoning what I want outsiders and new comers to see of what AAPC truly has to offer.

* We could also post complete poems instead of links, I leave that up to members.

"O ye of little faith," we are working on this.

Equinox and Eggs
-----------------
by Karen Tellefsen

Speak to me, geek.
I reek of you:
the blood of owls
the blood of pigs.

You roll your vowels.
Your scansion digs
a monumental
hiding hole.

You peak in Latin,
then creep to Greek
to pander to
the classical.

Preach at me, geek.
I'm meek with you,
the flesh of wheat,
the blood of grapes.

His nail wounds gape
with dripping meat
and hanging stones
of carpal bones.

While rabbits speak
of chicken eggs,
of equinox
and roasted legs
of lamb,
you sermonize
the pastoral
to plagiarize
the man.

My Affair with a Marshmallow Bunny
-----------------------------------
by NancyGene, as told to Dr. B. Ruth

I lustily craved the guy at first smell—
sweet, dark, mellow with a Bridgerton shell
I knew I could crack with small biting remarks,
as I admired his bright, shiny package.
But, Doctor, I was always on the bottom--
he said that body heat made him sticky.

He didn’t have arms or opposable thumbs
to hold himself up, so he had to be on top,
just flopped there, squishy-like and his ears
were long but not solid at all in a way that
was Palmer, Lindt, Hershey or Dove-worthy.
Sometimes his epidermis peeled and flaked off.

He said he was FDA certified as sterile, and so
his insides got hard but that’s about all.
He stays with me for a couple of months and
then is “unavailable” for a year, until I again
glimpse him and his friends in a grocery store.
Why do I re-buy his excuse of being seasonal?

Easter Chicks
---------------------
a poem by NancyGene

Those cute little chicks with yellow tufts
tumble and cheep with avian distrust,
pecking order set in the yolk of food,
living by scratch and which will brood,
lay the first egg, be the first to fly,
catch the rooster’s eye, the last to die.

They grow up, no longer sweet or clean,
cease to lay eggs at henopause, mean-
ing the heads-or-tails thought of keeping
Henrietta only as a pet for 10 freaking
years or when the idea begins to simmer
of choking the chicken for your Sunday dinner.

Easter Comes Leaping
--------------------
a poem by NancyGene

Eggs, baskets, hiding plastics
Chocolates, toys, peeps ahoy
Bright, faces, hop like rabbits
Found, counting, leaping, joyous.

Grass, spinning, hard boiled, breaking
Jelly beans, boys, noise of course
Found, brother’s, chase, some spilling
Know, rules now, shush, go find yours.

Easter Buk
----------------
by Edward Rochester Esq.

I always genuflect
after a bout
with emulsified grain
right there
in front of the Remington,
new ribbon gearing up
to accept the foul or friendly
of today's gamble.

I lose, I'm foul,
get laid, friendly
and last year’s palm,
fashioned into cross
by one of the friendly day
visitors
who thought I needed
a bit of redemption
( even though her yelps
of pleasure, woke the dead)
resides where placed,
a bit dusty
but reminding of 'curve ahead',
as if a road sign, warning
of my bad boy deeds.
But I feed the cat,
I shout at no one
tip a hat to the neighbor,
smile though hung way over
lucidity
and I figure I'm safe
for the angel wings
but really should dust
that cross one day,
maybe Easter,
if that bonnet comes
calling again with new palm,
as she genuflects
before a false god.

A Tisket, A Tasket
------------------
by NancyGene

Beribboned, skirted, paper, plastic--
some with chicks and others rabbits.
Fill them up or buy fantasticked;
Easter Bunny earns his carrots.

Initialed, frothy, felt-cut, beaded,
colors Nature never worked with.
Hide them under chairs as needed,
Children’s baskets weave the Spring myth.

PAAS
-----
by Edward Rochester Esq.

It has evolved for me,
over easy, scrambled, fried
but there was a time
when that PAAS wire
would hold the egg for dunking
into the colors
of a Matisse rainbow
before the destruction
with a crack and peel.

I'm thinking, with progress,
the chicken can be injected
before laying all white
and bingo, that Easter basket
will be made before your very eyes.

Of course, if the eggs succeed to chicks,
the farm could become the new MOMA
which would lead to experimentation
on the little bunnies.

Nevermind,

I'm off for over easy
with a side of pig...er bacon.

I have Easter poems from Ktell, NG and Mr. Rochester...

If anyone knows of any Easter poems that they posted here, let me know. (Again, none mentioning other members-- they may be amusing but they're not what I consider the best of AAPC, just the subjects alone drags such pieces down with them)
