Very good! We had a poem still to post for June, but it can wait for July.

We see that the painting that accompanies AYoS for June is Helen Allingham's "The Proposal" (1880). It is being auctioned at Bonhams in the UK in July. The bid estimate is £2,000 - £3,000 (~ $2175 - $3263). It would look great hanging on the wall in Pendragon's picture gallery.

When you hold your breath long enough, you must eventually breathe in to save yourself.

Your monthly posting of poetry saves me from giving up entirely.

Thanks Michael, that was refreshing.

Michael Pendragon paid £6,400 ($8,154.98) for the painting. Michael has fallen in love with a series of red-haired girls, and they with him.

My crew are weekend poets, I doubt their dedication to Prosaic Motion* (not speakin' ill of 'em they already know my feelings), so no guarantees when they'll write something.
One the several reasons I came here, to spare them from my rebellion with just case to recite my prose in public--

LOL. I'm a BIG car fan.

I had a large collection of Hot Wheels, Johnny Lightnings and Matchbox cars.

I love cars. That is I love antique cars: early 1960s all the way back to the first horseless carriages.

When I see an antique car in a parking lot, I head straight to it to check it out.

If I were wealthy, I'd own a fleet of them like Jay Leno.

I had a '57 Silverhawk when I was in my teens/early 20s, along with a 1976 Midget Special. My father's car (for the first 14 years of my life was a '61 Impala, and he and a co-worker restored a Model T. I currently own two Cruisers -- and have even written a poem about one:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uSmHBmuYOPk

And, yes, that's my actual car, Jezebel, in the opening shot.

A Nova Custom fully tricked out to be a street sleeper, barely street legal. Just known as "She" to those that drove it, for her name was known only to her creator, but they attested that she seemed to have a will of her own, wanting to accelerate faster than they wanted her to.

Immortalized in poem and picture! We have heard that the PT Cruisers were not mechanically reliable, but they did look gangsta.

They did, along with several other models that Chrysler/Dodge and Ford did retro makeovers to.

I know the joke :) I was lucky, mine did several cross country runs. Finally, lost it in a tropical storm, and why I ended up sticking with SUVs*-- the low rider Camaro was just tempting the same fate... Ash had to work in tropical storms and hurricanes.
*Ash also had run 'em over trucks-- full size 4WD pick 'em up trucks

You've heard right.

I've paid far more in repair bills than I paid for either of the cars (I bought them used). However... for 20+ year-old cars, they've been running pretty well now that they've had a ton of repairs.

One minor flaw: "There are reports of the car shutting off while driving high-speeds down the highway."
