To the Sea Angel, by Will Dockery

Riptide waves,
there goes the sea angel,
right above the waves.

It's worth a reread. I think it's a key to understanding all of Will's relationship poetry.

Hey, perhaps use this one as the lead poem, as a bit of intro within the poetry?

The work doesn't have to be chronological, after all...

George J. Dance

to
No, it's not chronological. But I'm working on an order.

What I'd like to do is 2-part it, putting all the relationship poems in part 2, arranged irrespective of time or woman, to tell a story that goes dark and then comes up a bit at the end. (I'm considering WD as the centerpiece of that part).

I originally was going to end the book with "A Certain Music", but now I'm thinking of using it as the lead poem in part 2. To tell you the truth, there's one line in that poem I did not understand: "take it down to sea level" - but a sensible interpretation is that the speaker is walking toward the sea; he's moving in a direction just as his thoughts are moving in their new direction.

"Sea Angel" would follow right, or shortly, after, when he's at the sea.

I like the shaping of the theme idea, is there a full set of poems to work with yet, can't recall offhand?

That would be nice, but ... I think it's important to have Will's picture on the cover. He's not in the status of Cohen, Pink Floyd, Phish, where that's not needed. Do you do portraits?

Zod does, I know of one person, Julie Pulie, who still praises the sketch portrait Zod did of her late Grandmother, which hang on her Uncle's wall.

And, of course, General Zod also illustrated me for the infamous "Shadowville Speedway" CD cover:

Let's include you and Will and Zod in the list of people who cannot write or compose or sculpt or paint or draw or sing or play an instrument. You cannot include us because you don't know who we are but we have seen examples of Will, Zod, and your "art" and it is extremely poor. No talent there.

Since you guys have decided I'm a "jew fag" and a "foreskin sucker," I guess it's OK for me to comment.

This was the very recent photograph I had in mind for you to use as a model for your painting, heavy on the Van Gogh blues:
