Had to-- appreciation for all that Mr. Rochester has posted...
any errors, write off to my migraine

Sinners' Epitaph

Judas can be appointed counsel for me
in my trial up high, your Honor
I plead death before this damnable dishonor.
You know your Hidden Hand railroaded me.

I wander with Cain in Wrath,
yoked with an unreasoning beast.
With Judas in Life's garden I weep.
Forget the silver, damn the feast.
Mine's a certain fate by an unseen hand.
So spare me some lowly copper at least?
For these eyes, what they have beholden,
from these deeds ill wrought, a release.

We still kill our brothers
though the hand that dealt both
(good and evil) remain attached to one;
the grand Ponzi scheme
injecting fear solely for the power
to bless.

My crude way of saying, I'm honored for the shout-out, Mr. Ash

I would have killed Cain first, if I was able.

Most excellent! This sort of thing I like perhaps even more than commentary. To see one's work spark another creative piece.
I shall add this thread to the Sane House to join the other threads of where we have sparked further work with an original work. In writing circles, we call it round robin. For your collection, shall I title your responding piece as "Sinners' Epitaph"?

I understand the sentiment well.

Sinners' Epitaph is an obligation... of those that made it, to those that didn't. And it's part of an ongoing much larger piece.

Be wary and be forewarned...
Not of the ugly and strange you scorn,
that your cold disdain forsakes,
but what your cruelty could have born--
Spiteful specters, hatred cursed,
of those cast out, driven lorn.
Revenants estranged without salvation,
demanding lives in return.

(you may think I preach for here. No it's an obligation-- just as this gentleman obliges)
King 810: "Write about us"

I see some of the same in Rochester's poems.

Jim’s poetry on war is some of his most powerful to ME.
It’s the only time, that as I’m reading his poem, I almost don’t want to see the picture he’s painting with words Cause he can almost put you there.
He’s good.

Thank you. This an example of the poem chain I was referring to, one poem evokes another and so on. I always loved collaborative work.

Mebbe, I haven't decided on posting anymore. The poem chain with Rochester is actually a separate chain from the chain from the AFWT. The streams concept I'm putting into people's collections comes from the AFWT. It has preconfigured poem chains or computer created streams created using rule sets to make chains of poems and fragments in the AFWT.

Thank you. Actually, the most important thing in an interactive environment is how the poet acts to others. People will not like an asshole's work. Case in point, someone I know dropped the book they were going to get signed by Clive Barker, down on the table in front of him, said something I don't remember now and walked out on him because of something ass-holeish he said about fans. It wasn't said to them, but overheard.

Which is exactly the problem Michael Pendragon (and others here) will be facing with his openly hostile attack mode.

I was a fan of Clive Barker back in earlier years, the Books of Blood and Weaveworld are still favorites.

I didn't bring up Clive Barker so to talk about him, he's an asshole so I can care less about his work. It was about how an author or poet can turn people off their work, so there may be something more important than someone's work, especially in an interactive environment such as this where their true colors will show.

He seems fine, getting away from the stress here. I get the impression from him that he's like me and like sharks must keep moving or perish, he must keep writing.

You may have noticed from something I said to Rochester-- I love seeing people's work spurring other people's work.

Pendragon's poems (not Bloodlust or the racy one) actually made me go back inspired, to a near and dear project I had given up work on.

Perhaps Clive Barker was just hving a bad day?

He always seemed like a nice enough guy to me, and the writing is what should be judged, not the writer

How do you know he was a “nice enough guy”?

Ash didn’t claim he had. He related an experience that someone he knew had with Barker.
But wtf does that have to do with your response.

Yes, dimwit, I read your response. Hence, my question: When did you meet him?
Have you ever had any contact with him?

I’ve met several renowned authors and most have been nice, professional and congenial.

I don't like Clive Barker because how he treats his fans. It doesn't matter if he had a bad day or not, I've heard enough to form that opinion and the damage is done. I will not like someone and most likely their work, who thinks those that he writes for are beneath him. But that's not the issue.

The issue is as I pointed out, how someone's attitude and behavior can influence people's view of their work. This was in reference to Zod's claim, "a decent poet, and that SHOULD be all that matters here..." You don't read Rochester, Pendragon's or my work because the way we treat you. People who don't like you and Zod, trash your work mercilessly.

So the more important issue in this group, is not necessarily a poet's work, but how they treat the other members of this Group. So don't get sidetracked with talking about Barker.

Quite a few people call Clive Barker a nice guy:

https://www.pinterest.ph/pin/546976317214102593/

"Clive Barker - unique and chilling writer of fantasy and horror, and a nice guy in spite of it."

http://www.clivebarker.info/ints95c.html

"Clive Barker, Happy Horror Hero ... He was always a regular guy, a very nice guy."

https://www.baltimoresun.com/news/bs-xpm-1995-09-01-1995244144-story.html

"Sep 1, 1995 — He was always a regular guy, a very nice guy. "To then put that personality into a Clive Barker movie," he continued, "an interesting dynamic."

http://www.clivebarker.com/html/visions/confess/nonls/carpe/int3.htm

"Is it because you feel that you need to give something back, or is it that you're just a nice guy? [laughs]. Clive Barker, It's a bunch of things."

There's more, but that supports y perception that Clive Barker is a somewhat nice guy.

This coming from someone who thinks some author's creative works are more important than the life of that author's wife. We can't have women getting in the way of Beats' and their gospel can we? The Beats were always a boys club.

A creative person is no better than his fans and are not above them or the law.

Who's your favorite author, Will?

That's another rhetorical question. We all know the answer is "Will Dockery."

I don't know if you put your creative works above your wife's well being, but you certainly put your self-indulgent, hedonistic pleasures above her -- spending what money you earned on booze and drugs, when you should have been supporting her and your children, cheating on her (once, supposedly, while she and your son were in the next room), not paying alimony or child support, etc.

I like that you can see his games. Definitely seek some sanity, the lunacy will drive you mad. I'm sending Will a bill for a new keyboard.

We go with your logic then. So the fact of your work getting trashed must mean you two are not decent poets then.

No that isn't /my/ logic at all.

I wrote "in theory", not in fact, here, obviously.

No, unlike you, while I have confidence in the quality of my poetry, I don't put my name in my lists of favorite poets, Pendragon.

Just because you’ve been posting and trolling others here for 20 years doesn’t make you part of the group.
You’re not a member of the group because you don’t show the other group members any respect.
And who cares how long you’ve been here. Stop shoving that in our faces constantly. You’re just a loser who posts here.

Good thing for you. Actually bad thing for you on both counts.

Speak of illusionary-- actually delusionary in this case-- you post a link that no one will look at and be annoyed by-- definitely fits the common definition of spammer.

Yes, he nailed it-- he only cares for and does what works for him, even when everyone else is saying otherwise. But you and Will and Beatnik hedonistic cultists-- only what you wants matters and fuck everyone else. My side (not Pendragon's side) wants both of you to know that. So I'm not denying anyone anything-- they don't want to see your work.
