Third party voting is also available in Georgia:

"The key issues in this election are not divisive political topics. We must reduce or eliminate government corruption..."

A vote for Ted Metz is a vote for weed:

Here are the 3 governor candidates' positions:

"Brian Kemp (R) - Kemp supports Georgia's current laws about medical marijuana but has not said he supports growing it for medical use in Georgia. On his campaign website, Kemp says he is not "in the camp of being pro-recreational marijuana."

"Stacey Abrams (D) - Abrams supports Georgia's medical marijuana legislation and wants to legalize growth of marijuana in Georgia for medical use. Abrams also supports decriminalizing some marijuana violations, similar to what the city of Atlanta has done. She says she is open to legalizing recreational marijuana if there's a strong substance abuse network in place."

"Ted Metz (L) - The Libertarian candidate is for legalization of medical marijuana as well as cultivation of the plant within the state of Georgia. Metz says he would support legalization of recreational marijuana only if it matched what the state of Colorado has implemented."

Yeah, write-in. It's almost impossible for anyone but an R or D to get on the ballot in Alabama; now that Oklahoma's freed up their ballot access, Alabama looks like the worst in the nation for that particular type of suppression.

I wrote a post today about the runoff election in Georgia, and why it's not "throwing your vote away" to vote Libertarian in November - if no one gets a majority, you can vote R or D in December.

But it seems to have vanished, hence the repeat.

Thanks for the info.

Orren Hatch had a great comment on the Utah ballot initiative, a few weeks ago:

Okay, I see that there is a problem the Georgia race for Governor:

https://www.cnn.com/2018/11/07/politics/georgia-governors-race-stacey-abrams/index.html

"Democratic candidate Stacey Abrams is not conceding the Georgia governor's race to Republican candidate Brian Kemp, arguing that the high stakes contest is too close to call with the possibility of a runoff next month.

Kemp is currently ahead of Abrams by nearly 68,000 votes with 99% of precincts reporting, according to CNN election results. But he only has 50.4% of the vote. If neither candidate receives 50%, there will be a runoff in early December..."

I don't see a problem. If Kemp doesn't get a majority, he isn't elected. That would be a good rule for any jurisdiction to have.

If the perceived problem is the expense of a second election, that could be solved by a ranked-choice ballot, like they adopted this year in Maine.

Whatever they were, I'm sure they were an improvement over the countless "Outdamnstanding"s and "Thanks for the nod, Zod"s (and assorted variations thereof) that have flooded this group for the past 6 months.

Kemp is declaring victory, and resigned his SoS post today, but Abrams hasn't conceded, nor has anyone else declared Kemp elected at this point.

Exactly... a bit too early to call, as far as Kemp or Abrams.
