i've been there a few times to read, and i've read news about it other places. i don't care for it at all. it's where all the 'deplorables' (like Dink) went when they left usenet; and from there they go to Breitbart, and from there to the Trump campaign.

Maybe that's a caricature, or maybe it's just true of particular reddits; i don't like reading there, so I haven't been there very much.

here's the only blog story i have on reddit:

In other words, your neighbor has Azaleas. Everyone on here has seen 1681 Forestside Drive, the trash in the yard, the tarp-roof, and knows you shit out the back door because you have no I door plumbing. Flowers would die on that cursed plot of land.

Forgery & Identity Theft Announcement from Will Dockery (2020)

Looks like a good time to re-post this... a forgery notice to all my friends:

I want to let you know we have a vicious troll online making nasty attacks even forgery of my name. If you get any of these forgeries with misogyny, racism and worse, under my name or other, friends and family. Be aware that it is not me or another friend, but a forgery, identity theft by a malicious impostor troll.

Thanks, as ever, I remain the real Will Dockery:

The reply to Will's post is a fake by one of our resident fake "George Dance"s - perhaps not the racist homophobic one, but just as much a dishonest little piece of shit. The contents, of course, are a lie. I do not put living poets' work on any of my sites without asking their permission first - to do otherwise is stealing.

Thanks. You've picked the worst possible time to ask: I just discovered that the dishonest prick who's been faking my name to write lies about me has managed to fool the whole group, including you.

But, hey, NG isn't asking for much here; and as long as it doesn't commit me to write, I can satisfy them in just a few seconds' effort. So, because I'm in the Easter mood this weekend:

In fact, this poem (under the title of "Dancing Dandelions") was also one of Zod's Sampler poems; though it was edited later.

Yes, the scumbag troll fooled even me.

A good example of why Pendragon and his "blame the victim" rationalization doesn't pan out.

Anyone decent should condemn the malicious impersonation, personal attacks and name calling that is ruining the poetry newsgroup, rather than obsessing about the number of times I post.

George Dance is not a prolific poster, yet he is forged, his photo stolen... identity theft, actually.

Note also this post is being avoided

True, I'm not a victim, I refer to the name given to your rationalization and defense of the forges and identity thieves.

I'm not a victim because I fight back against these cyberbullies, and correct their lies and misrepresentations, and I will as long as I am able.

I did lower my posting rate, but will not give in to extortion by cyber bullies.

All attacks, forgery, identity theft, name calling and the targeting of friends and family needs to end.

By supporting, defending and rationalizing the abuse these malicious impostors are spewing, you are helping to ruin this poetry group, Pendragon.

They stopped for 2 weeks. You lowered your posting for 2 days. After which you used Jim's referring to you as a "deadbeat" as an excuse to start over posting again.

Jim is not one of the impostor trolls. Yet, in order to get back at Jim, you threw the impostor's peace offering back in their faces.

Bullshit. You are the human version of wagyu beef, you fat bastard. You and your post bumping all day and night of all things Dockery is the real bullying. Most here have made it clear they don't want to see your garbage flooding the group.

The plan was to give you a chance for a lasting peace.

We all knew that you were bullshitting when you whined about how the "malicious trolls" forced you to ramp up the number of your posts.

The trolls stopped "forcing" you to respond.

They stopped for two weeks.

Unlike you, they didn't say "you first." They just stopped.

All they asked in return was that you keep your posts down to an acceptable number -- a number that most of us never reach (unless we get lured into an endless argument with you).

You proved that your over posting had nothing to do with the alleged "trolls."

So... what was the point?

The point was that either way, we (everyone who isn't you) would have won.

Had you stopped your over posting, the group would have been the better for it, and we would have established a lasting peace.

Had you failed to stop (which is what happened), you could no longer use your lame excuse about the bad old trolls who were bullying you into being a nuisance.

I'm sure we'd all have preferred the lasting peace, but removing one more falsehood from your arsenal is almost as good.

No, what I wrote was that if the impersonations and forgery stopped, if the name calling and personal attacks on friends and family stopped, there would be less posts since none of that will need to be corrected.

I never claimed I'd stop posting at all, or that my posts would match your imposed limit.

I have always reserved the right to make as many posts as I see fiy yo make, as many as circumstances require... again, your imposed posting limit is unacceptable for me.

This isn't being disputed, Will.

However, when the "impersonations and forgery... name calling and personal attacks on friends and family" stopped for two weeks, neither you nor your sock were able to keep the numbers of your posts down.

> I never claimed I'd stop posting at all, or that my posts would match your imposed limit.

You claimed that you rarely make over 25 posts a day, and that the only reason you sometimes do is because the "malicious trolls" force you to "set the record straight."

I put your claim to the test. You failed.

> I have always reserved the right to make as many posts as I see fiy yo make, as many as circumstances require.

Consequently, the rest of us reserve the right to recognize the fact that you're a self-absorbed, illiterate, untalented, whiny, pissbum who's desperate for attention -- and to treat you accordingly.

Good.

Another of your lies, Pendragon.

I cut my posts considerably, as did Zod, who still makes only a few posts every evening.

The operative word in my statement is "keep."

You and your sock managed to keep your posts down for 2 (out of a total of 14) days. You are able to cut your posts down, but you are incapable of *keeping* them down for a sustained period of time.

There was no posting limit, and your agreement was unnecessary.

You claimed that you rarely exceed 25 posts per day.

You further claimed that the main reason you exceed that number is due to your having to defend yourself against the "malicious trolls."

The "trolls" and I put your claims to the test. They didn't hold up.

"Consequently" would seem to imply an "of course."

"Busy" should only refer to posts that you absolutely *must* respond to. Otherwise, your "busy" excuse has no more value than your disproved claim about the trolls.

There was no need for you to take part in these discussions, Will.

All you've done here is to repeatedly insist that your posting numbers have been consistently low, when the archives show that they have been anything but.

I know that you believe repeating a lie will make people believe it, but that only works when the lies aren't flying in the face of hard, incontrovertible evidence.

Go to the following thread, read and review a poem or ten:

Only you can answer that.

If you think that placing the good (and the wishes) of the group over those of an individual who wishes to use the group as his personal message board, then you've got a much different definition of "fascism" than I do.

That has no bearing on the issue at hand.

If you'll remember, we are discussing your *excuse* for over posting.

You had initially blamed it on what you melodramatically refer to as the "malicious, vicious trolls and forging identity thieves." When I asked the "trolls" to cease and desist, they did... but your post count only dropped for two days -- proving that the trolls were not the cause.

You then claimed that your excuse was that you've been hit with three "busy" days in a row.

If "busy" means any post you feel like responding to, then it has no validity as an excuse. All you're saying is that you felt like making a ton of pointless posts in a bunch of off-topic threads.

IOW: You over post because... you feel like over posting. And you'll do whatever you damn well please, so there!

> > There was no need for you to take part in these discussions, Will.
> You mean such as this discussion?

Definitely. I'm giving you good advice, but instead of taking it, you stamp your feet and try to pass the blame off on various sources.

There's simply no need for that sort of thing.

> You make a post addressed to me but you say I should ignore it?
>
> No, I don't see a good reason for doing that.

I didn't say you should ignore it, Will.

You should take it to heart.

And you can *show* me that you've taken it to heart by *not* responding.

As always, I defer to Merriam-Webster:

fascism
(noun)

fas·cism | \ ˈfa-ˌshi-zəm
also ˈfa-ˌsi- \
Definition of fascism

1 often capitalized : a political philosophy, movement, or regime (such as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition
2 : a tendency toward or actual exercise of strong autocratic or dictatorial control early instances of army fascism and brutality— J. W. Aldridge

When describing my politics, I go by the first definition. In terms of my discussion with Will, neither definition seems applicable.

Apart from your hangup with my using the word "fascist" -- technically, my political philosophy is a mix of Plato, Machiavelli, Wells and Baron d'Holbach, but since more people are familiar with the meaning of "fascism," it serves as an expedient description -- what has it got to do with my discussion with Will?

When describing yourself here, and for the sake of discussion,
either definition is reprehensible, and anathema to anyone who
would promote and advance the benefit of the group over fascism.

Now you're the one who's starting to sound like a Donkey.

I asked you how the charge of "fascism" applied to my conversation with Will.

Please explain yourself (and be specific).

Fascism isn’t a charge. It is your admission, your claim to fame.
You call yourself a Jewish fascist, and think I sound like a Donkey.

I tend to think of you as more of a control freak on an ego trip, Pendragon.
