Stephen Austin in " A Special Gift"

If anyone has any information concerning the whereabouts of Stephen Austin who starred in the ABC Afterschool Special titled A Special Gift , please post to this news group or email me directly.   I am doing a masters research project concerning males in dance; specifically why they quit and how to retain them.  I know his mother was/is a ballet teacher or that she was a driving enfluence in his early dancing.  I also know he attended SAB in 1978/79.

I don't have the book, but wasn't Stephen Austin (or his brother) one
of the Nutcracker princes that danced in the Nutcracker with the girl
in "A Very Young Ballerina"?

s. austin is the young male dancer in jill krementz's 'a very young dancer' and also
featured, if mem. serves in a little 'basic ballet' book that came out around that same
time, 1976(?).

I would still like to interview Mr Austin for further research into male dancers. Please contact dam...@earthlink.net I have researched this topic for many years with a unique perspective as my paradigm.

Hi Tara: I'm just seeing this post now (Nov. 2017). I met Stephen in college 30 years ago and was one of his flat mates when we were studying in London. He was such a special young man, and I hope that he's happy and healthy, wherever he his these days. Thank you--Laura
