Maybe you already know Amapi, the creative 3D workshop, which has a great
success in France and in the United States, as well as around the World
(have an eye on Internet...).
This 3D modeler is a very good complement to other 3D products, since it
enables users to model in a very powerful, quick and efficient way through
its unique interface.
It has very powerful features like smoothing, filleting, boolean
operations, NURBS, Coons and Gordon surfaces, free bending and extrusion,
or along a curve, and so on... Working in Amapi is like playing with
virtual plasticine...
It also has all the necessary filters to communicate with other softwares:
- 3D Studio, 3DGF, Apple Quickdraw 3D, Atlantis, DXF, IGES, Illustrator,
HPGL, Electric Image, Lightwave, Povray, Ray Dream Designer, RIB, STL,
Strata Studio Pro, Truespace, Vectorial PICT, VRML...
All that for less than USD 500!
Some press extracts:
= Web article (Apple 3D Guru, Scott Boyer), on:

"Looking for a 3D Modeler that creates characters?
Looking for a 3D Modeler that doesn't cost an arm and a leg?
Looking for a 3D Modeler that is powerful, yet flexible?
Well, then check out Amapi 2.0 from Yonowat. This program was developed in
France by some folks that want you to have fun while modeling. Visualize
Droopy the Dog saying, "You know what?..... I'm happy", then apply a
French accent to it and you get a pretty good idea where the company is
coming from.
The really big highlights are: Smooth tool, Deforming, Unfolding, Nurbs
Curves, Hull Surfaces, Surface thickness, and you can Import/Export a wide
variety of file formats including the new QuickDraw 3D (although it does
not support QD3D's Interactive rendering). Another big feature is the
ability to draw 2D curves in 3D. This ALWAYS impresses 3D-type-people when
I give them a demo of Amapi.
= Multi-CAD Australia (October 1995) article:
"Amapi claims to offer a very friendly and intuitive interface, and the
interface did in fact prove to be particularly well designed and enjoyable
to use, with a little experience. More than this, the program displayed an
impressive and sophisticated range of 3D modeling and editing functions.
Amapi is one of the best 3D modeling programs I've seen. The modeling
tools provided are both powerful and practical. It successfully implements
a very clever interface, equally suited to the creative (who want to model
by eye) and the technical (who prefer to model using dimensions)."
We are interested in dynamical distributors, and if you are interested in
Amapi for a press release, we can provide you more informations about the
software and its uses. Do not hesitate to contact us!
