watercolor recipe for children and beginners

Here is a good cheap way of making watercolors for the children and for
beginners. I got this off another art newletter. I have not made them but
sounds good.

Here is how to make your own Water colors:

1 TB white vinegar
1 TB baking soda
1 TB cornstarch
1/2 t corn syrup
food coloring, three small plastic bottle lids or baby
food jars.

mix the vinegar and baking soda in a small bowl.
when the mixture stops fizzing add cornstarch and corn
syrup. Blen together. The mixture will have a strange
cake like consistency. Divide the mixture among the
three lids blend in a few drops of food coloring
(brighter colors more food coloring) You can use it
immediately or let dry and then use like store bought
water colors.
