We have 75 sheets of Arches 140# watercolor paper (both cold and hot
press) which have been subjected to very high humidity. It was kept in
a room which now smells like mildew and which we are having to tear
apart and "remediate" as the various mold remediation companies call
it.

The paper smells of rotten milk, not mildew. Am I to assume the
dampness has 'spoiled' the casein which is causing the odor?

Are there methods to save the paper? Remove the odor?

We tried soaking a small piece in a very weak solution of bleach but it
damaged the paper.

Any ideas?

THANKS ahead of time...
