I have painted and won numerous awards as a wildlife artist in Wisconsin
and the Midwest area for 20 years....BUT......!!!! for the last three
years I have really dove headlong into landscape painting, plein air and in
studio.
My work is a radical "attacking" method....in use of big brushes and
palette knife, blocking in quickly masses and shapes, and then using the
palette knife tip and smaller brushes to use shapes such as sky to sculpt
the shape of trees, details, etc; My years of careful rendering in
wildlife has helped me manage to keep control of things to be a convincing
realism....yet definitely painterly.
I'm hoping you'll see that California is not the only home of good outdoor
impressionistic style painters!
