Hi Melanie. Nice site, clean and simple. I like the graphite portraits as I'm into that stuff
myself. I don't know about the non-representational stuff....it's never been my thing.

Can I offer a small criticism without looking picky? There are no apostrophes in "thanks" or
"pictures".

Just a thing of mine. The English language is treated casually enough and correct spelling in a
website isn't too much to ask.

You're not alone, by the way. I mean this constructively.

Cheers

Greg

I found the color to be sumptuous on my old beat up 14" (not bragging) VGA.
I bet it is delicious on the original paper. :o)

I'm interested to see what will go on page 3.

Hi Greg,

Thankyou for looking, I like using graphite as it
seems to give you a lot more control, although now
I'm concentrating mainly with oil on canvas for the
extra dimension that can be achieved.

Thanks for correcting me on my spelling, never has
been one of my strong subjects.

Bye..

Melanie.

Hi Frank,

Thanks for looking.

Glad to here that the colour looks good on your 14", (Monitor that is) :0).

Seriously though, the French Pastels that I use do give
a lot of colour depth, and take to the original paper nicely.

On Page three I'm going to display the large oil on canvases
that I am in the process of completing.

Again thankyou for looking.

Melanie.

Would that be the same as index5 oil paintings? The I.H. drawings are
recognizable.

Something you may want to do though is when photographing works that are
under glass, bounce the light on the ceiling to avoid the glare. Better yet,
now that it is warming up in the northern hemisphere, take it outside and
photograph it in the sun with a small asa 100 to get the quality and color.

Hi Frank,

Yes you're right, page three should have 6 quite bad
drawings on display, it's the oil painting page that I intend
to fill with the large paintings, sorry for the confusion :0).

The jimi oil painting photo was taken with a very unimpressive low spec
digital camera, when I come to
photograph the other paintings I will take them outside
and use my trusty old Canon A1 camera, do you think
I might be better off removing the glass for an outside
photo.

Thanks.

Melanie.

Melanie,

Call me Michael :o)
A page of bad drawings is good to view as an archive of where you were and a
gage of how much you have improved later. I would like to see a self
portrait of you.

Definitly photograph the work before you put it under glass to avoid the
glare and present it in the best possible light. If it is already under
glass, hopefully you used anti-glare. If not, it may be too much trouble
getting it out of the frame again. In that case, bounce the light off the
ceiling. You want to show off your art as best you can.
