Hi folks. Most of you know I'm a regular on this NG. Well, I've been
strongly thinking of doing an online comic. I've had many ideas, and figure
the best way to get them 'out there' is online. The only thing is, I'm not
good at inking. On pinups, I'm not bad. But for pages, I'm not that good.

So basically, I'm looking for a decent inker to work with me. Now, here's
the deal: although it wouldn't be much, I would pay per page. (a paid artist
is a happy artist, no? :] If/when I get this project going though, it won't
be for a little while yet (probably at least a month maybe more), but I'm
asking this now, so I can see 1] how much interest this might generate, 2]
get names of potential candidates, and 3] have time to review samples.

I'm not asking for any original samples, just portfolio type pieces so I can
gauge your style. Of course, if anyone wants to try and ink something of
mine, I can send them a pencil scan of a pinup I did (it's a scan of the
pencil work, but the actual image now has been inked and colored [twice!
once by hand and once in the computer], so it's not a 'work in progress'
trying to get a freebie).

You can post a response here, since I frequent this group, or email me
personally (just follow the spamguard instructions in my signature). Thanks
all!

Watcha Fungus,

It's a job i'd like to do some day but I am well busy for a while.

Why not post an ad at http://www.digitalwebbing.com/ in the talent section
i'm certain you'll get lots of interest if your actually considering paying
people. Now there's an interesting concept I've not heard of before.

Cheers,
Stu

p.s. There are a lot of timewasters there like everywhere else so a pinch of
salt with all replies eh?

hey fungus, i'd be interested in trying to ink over a copy of your pencils,
i'm an aspiring comic penciler as well. If you could send me a jpg or
something of the penciled sample that'd be cool. Thanks.

Okay. You do know though, that I can't pay for the samples, right? Only work
on the actual comic (otherwise, I'd wind up paying so much for samples I'd
have nothing left for the comic itself!).

Let me know if you're still interested. I'll send you the penciled image
(it's not a paneled page though, as I don't have them ready yet.) and the
link to the final version (so you can see I wasn't lying about it being
finished already, you know, that whole cynical thing about conning people
into working for free). Although, I'd advise you view the link after you ink
the image (feel free to view it though, before you send the inked image
back). I only advise this so that it doesn't influence your own work on the
image.
