Just a little heads up for any Firefox users who've previously fixed it in
"userChrome.css" so the Tabs are below the Toolbars.

The newest update to Fx71 (Unmentionable words) that setting and the Tabs
will be back above the toolbars.

A fix is noted at this URL:

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1274197

Dave

Obviously if you like your Tabs on top, ignore me. ;-)

Not on 71 yet, but thanks for the tip!

TBH I have rather gone off Firefox, and now only keep it for
when Pale Moon does not work.

Have to confess there are times when I get urinated off with Firefox (*)
and have thought about running Pale Moon again, but apparently the base
engine (Code) is now very old and (Supposedly) a security risk, so I stick
with Firefox...

Just before the time Fx Quantum was introduced, my userChrome.css file
only had a couple of line of script to fix something... Now with all the
stuff they've hacked out with subsequent updates, my userChrome.css has
enough scripts to fill an A4 page.

It has become redolent of the MS Win 10 updates where the updates keep
messing with the users preferred settings by putting them back to defaults.

Dave

(*) I became so vexed at the introduction of Quantum and what was being
hacked out I *reasonably* politely deprecated what they were doing to
Firefox on the Mozilla.support newsgroups... I'm now totally proscribed
from any Mozilla.support groups. I can read but not write...

It does have an upside... Calm and my BP stays at a reasonable level. :-)

Appaprently there is a lot of deliberate misinformation
about PaleMoon, which is rebutted at
https://forum.palemoon.org/viewtopic.php?f=65&t=22399

That said, I do not claim to understand much of it, and I
would hazard a guess that you are in much the same
situation.

The machine I use on a Wednesday at a local charity is the
guinea pig for the Win 7 --> Win 10 update we are having to
go though in the next few weeks.

The boss tells me that he was able to track down a means of
transition that was
a) free of charge (!!!)
b) preserved the original Win 7 desktop and settings once
logged in
c) has the security of Win 10 without messing about with
the settings.

It does have the Win 10 pop-up menu from the start button,
and the start-up screen does look like Win 10, but after
that it is OK.

So, could be a lot worse.

I just wish that they did not use Chrome - though I do like
the Chrome 'Print Dialogue' - much better than any other
browser IMHO. I would jump at an add-on for PM or Firefox
that added that functionality!

In Firefox, I have an addon called "Print Edit WE" an exceptional aid to
edit, preview and print Web materials.
I think if you give it a try you'll find it very useful.

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-GB/firefox/addon/print-edit-we/

I believe there is also a version for Chrome.

Luck with the W7 to 10 update. :-)

I did the update to the last two of our Win 7 Pro machines a short while
ago (Mid October IIRC) and both updated without any unexpected problems.

Dave

Aside...
My personal Desktop and Notebook were updated from Win 7 to 10 back when
it first arrived and Oooer! I did have a catastrophe on the desktop a few
months later with a Win 10 update that totally FU the machine, It required
a Reinstall of Windows and a lot of App reinstalling, but since then all
the updates have gone through okay. (Thankfully).

Thanks for the thought Dave.

I tried this when it first came out, and the previous Print
Edit (whoch was not a lot of fun to use, but I could get it
to do what I wanted) stopped working, but I could never
understand how to make it do anything at all.

At the end of the day, it is not my problem, and very
definitely not my responsibility.

That is what bosses are for.
