I'm wondering if some kind person might illuminate something for me.
I've done some googling and online reading, but am not that much the wiser.

Win 10 Pro 64bit PC.
EaseUS ToDo Backup 11.5 Though this question applies to earlier versions
as well.

The PC in question is Hybrid storage.
Drive C:\ is on an SSD, while a spinning rust HD contains Data and initial
storage.

The spinning rust has two partitions, Drive D:\ containing some installed
apps and Data, while Drive X:\ has various storage items.

I have a same sized USB SSD to clone the SSD C:\ drive to.

I have a same size USB spinning rust to clone the machines Rust D and X
partitions to.

Here's the fly ointment...

When I attempt to clone the spinning rust, after a while it pops up an
error window noting:

"Linux emergency disk cannot support GTP disk. Please create WinPE
emergency disk and try again."

1) This machine has never been anywhere Linux, so what Linux emergency
disk?

2) Why would I need to create a WinPE emergency disk?

3) I did try that once, but after creating the disk it still wouldn't
clone the partitioned drive.

Obviously I do backup the partitioned drive using a different tool, but
I'm still wondering all about this Linux stuff etc.

?

Thanks
Dave

I presume EaseUS ToDo Backup 11.5 is your backup software.

Backup software has to run completely independently of your HDD and normal
operating system. It therefore installs it's own mini OS into memory and
runs from there. Old backup software would often install a cut-down
version of DOS but I guess these days it installs and runs Linux. One
advantage being it's free.
