If life had a meaning we wouldn`t need physics.......................
Sorry can't let this one go by!<%^) Trying to sell archery equipment on it's
new value basis is unrealistic unless your talking about Radians, Stylists,
PSE Centras etc (Eolla deliberately not included). Since you don't have any idea
about how a bow has been treated, bows with debateable reliability records don't
sell for nearly as much. An aquaintance recently bought a carbon limbed KG1 for
250 quid. Immaculate condition and about 12 months old (the old owner had been
shooting a Hoyt for about 6 of those months).
If the bow pre-dates 1989 then it was only 249 new, 1991 279 new and then prices
went silly. Why do you think Keith Gasgoine (KG) left Marksman to set up a
company producing bows that look a bit like KG1's? (except the price tag).
The only people I've seen selling second hand KG1's at this price are Marksman
themselves (wonder why?). Sorry, this has got really bitchy, enjoy your Radian,
now it's second hand value......

Indeed, mine (which is still shooting far better than I can ;-)) only
cost 180! ISTR that was in 1983. As you say, then prices went silly!

Aaahhhh, a truly original KG1, there aren't many of them about. The days
when Marksman were a true team who made quality bows Les Howis, Keith Gasgoine
et al. Products were quality items and customers were important.
RIP Marksman Archery (of the above qualities) circa 1990

Yes indeed. In those days we had no qualms about sending our beginners
there, all alone, to get kitted out. We knew that they'd be looked after
properly, given the correct equipment and not be sold anything if it
wasn't right and needed for them.
It was very convenient, being just half an hour or so away, still, that's
commercialism for you :-( Fortunately Quicks at Sapcote is not too far
away :-)
It's nice to know it's not just me! Personally I've got a 300+ mile drive to a dealer
and that's Pro Shop at Preston (nice people but not enough TOYS!) although I believe
they are now stocking Radians and Centras and Border Hoyt limbs.
Quicks however are no angels, but at least an improvement (never been to Quicks at
Sapcote). Nice for some huh!
