i've got one of those pre-formed ponds (200 gal?) with a small tear (1")

any suggestions?

If it is the fibre glass type pond, you can buy sheets of glass fibre and
some resin in your local auto shop. Place the sheet how you want it then
paint on the resin. You may want to drape some plantwork over the repair
when you are done to cover it. Alternatively you could paint it with some
G4.
