It is certainly not Ich. Can you go into more detail? Is it the fishes
color that is changing? Does the fish appear to be covered in slime?
If it is a milky coating that appears somewhat slimy then what you have
there is Chilodonella. It is a parastic disease. Treatment is with Ich
medications because both diseases are caused by protozoans. Your tank
is undoubtedly still cycling and this will complicate the treatment.
First you need to read up on the nitrogen cycle in your tank. For now
though you will need to medicate the fish. I urge you to use a product
call Clout by Aquarium Products. It will be easy on the sensitive
loaches, not upset your new tank too much and will be very effective
against the protozoan that is infecting your loach. The disease will
spread so treat them all. Follow package directions to the letter and
get ready to do water changes.

Are you sure there is a coating on the fish or is it just that the black color
fades? I have 7 clown loaches and one of them goes quite pale at times. He
seems quite healthy so I don't worry about it.
