The thing is: WebTV users don't have direct access to Usenet; they
*can* post via DejaNews or mail2news gateways, but who wants to go to
that trouble? I don't think there will be much of a problem with
Usenet from WebTVers, unlike AOLers (AOL makes Usenet seem like
internal message boards.)

It doesn't matter much how intelligent or polite you are if you're
using tools that everyone else on the net looks down on. Anything that
quotes messages the way WebTV does. It must also double-wrap news and mail
messages on your screen in a really funky way.
Does that mean I should wrap all my messages to the fifty or sixty
characters so they'll appear correctly in the variable spaced sans-serif
font that can fit on your NTSC TV screen. It doesn't matter if it's a huge
fourty inch screen or what you're using; the type and graphics on screen
still won't be as legible as they are on a decent computer monitor. I've
read the articles on how functional the interface is. That doesn't make
you a fool or an idiot as some others would think. What it does mean is
that, at least with the present interface, _no one_ will believe you're not
another couch potato without huge gobs of proof.
If everyone on the net is going to see your double spaced e-mail
and newsgroup postings, they aren't even going to read them.
