Ebay seller cosasviejasmex in Argentina

I bought an enamel sign from these guys in Argentina -CosasViejasmex-
thinking it was from the 20's and when I got it, it looked more like
40's or 50's - sign is good, not a repro, but I was looking for a
1920 sign.

Here's my story with cosasviejasmex. Like most people I was very
apprehensive to say the least about buying anything overseas,
specially a high ticket item. $300 bucks or more is a lot for me. I
have been collecting all kinds of turn of the century items for quite
sometime anything from glass and china, to toys trinkets and household
goods, even though I really like to stay below the $120 price range as
my collection is quite extensive (somewhat of a shopaholic I guess).
Anyhow in recent years I have become more and more interested in old
advertisements and porcelain enamel signs (they hold their value quite
well and have been know to increment in value) as they are easily
portable and not as fragile as china and or old posters. They do not
break, tear, and are water resistant to say the least. Anyhow this guy
kept listing this old mossant hats porcelain enamel sign by cappiello
that I instantly fell in love with. I let the listing pass initially,
simply because it was overseas, and my experiences have not been good
at all, specially with items purchased in India. Anyhow he relisted
the item and I couldn't resist, I made an offer which he accepted. I
thought this would be the beginning of a nightmare, but was happily
surprised to see what an easy and flawless transaction it was. The
item was even better than I expected in person. I hang it as a
showcase piece, and get nothing but great compliments on the sign. I
have lots of friends who are collectors and in the trade as well,
everyone who has seen the sign agrees, it is definitely an old
porcelain enamel sign. Possibly a tad younger than turn of the
century, 1930's seems to be everyone's consistent opinion. Anyway I
would not doubt for one minute in purchasing items likes this from
overseas in the future.

When I originally posted this I thought it would be a waste of my
time, but I was mad because the sign was not as old as I expected and
I posted because I wanted to see if others had experienced similar
situations with this seller, cosasviejasmex. Well over the course of
time I decided to get the sign appraised and it was confirmed that the
sign is circa 1929 so apparently it really was a sign from the 20's.
I must coincide when others say these people simply have no clue to
what they are selling.
