brief. If you want the usual dose of gossip, requests, replies, general
attitude, and weird contests you are used to from InterAction Online,
you'll find a brand-new issue on the Sierraweb at
http://www.sierra.com/news/newsletter/

RAMA RELEASED!

If you're a science fiction fan, you've heard of RAMA. The series of
books by Arthur C. Clarke (2001: A Space Odyssey) and Gentry Lee has
been hotter than the surface of a neutron star for over a decade now.
Millions have read the stories of the gigantic spaceship that appears
in our galaxy from parts unknown. Now, with the help of the original
authors, we're very, very proud to announce the release of a multimedia
adventure game based on this incredible series. To give you a taste of
what this game is like, we've provided a web area that's chock-full of
Rama goodies:
http://www.sierra.com/rama/

In addition to game information and screenshots, you might just discover
that these pages contain a few clues to the game's mysterious puzzles.
We've also included some fun AVI files of Rama scenes and of authors
Arthur C. Clarke and Gentry Lee. And as if that's not enough, you'll
also find the transcripts of on-line conferences and interviews with
those two gents.

Not enough? OK, we'll also give you a free downloadable Rama theme pack
for Windows 95. And t-shirts! We'll give away 10 free Rama t-shirts
every week. All you have to do is sign up on our Rama contest page!

NEW NET GAMES

We get tons of mail asking for more games that are playable on the
Internet, so we wanted to tell you about two new games that offer this
feature. One of them is a new version of our very popular Bass fishing
simulation, Trophy Bass. (It's called - surprise - Front Page Sports:
Trophy Bass 2!) The other is PowerChess, and before you say to yourself
"Another chess game? Boring!" take a second to look at this one. You'll
be surprised how innovative it really is. The URL's for these two are:
http://www.sierra.com/tbass2/
http://www.sierra.com/powerchess/

And while you're checking out Trophy Bass 2, make sure you sign up for
the special Trophy Bass contest where you could win a three-day fishing
trip with the Pros.

NASCAR NEWS

Three new versions of the NASCAR Racing simulation from Papyrus are due
for Christmas.

If you own a PC or MAC, you can download a fully playable demo and get
information on the games. Check out:
http://www.sierra.com/games/nascar2/
http://www.sierra.com/macs/demos/

If you or someone you know owns a Playstation, now they can also get in
on the NASCAR fun with the release of NASCAR Racing for the PlayStation.

LARRY 7 SHIPS IN "LOVE FOR SAIL"
Al Lowe's most popular creation, the ever-hopeful and always-hopeless
Leisure Suit Larry, is back for another round of jokes, innuendo, and
half-dressed babes in "Love for Sail!" Where else could you possibly
find a lavish cruise ship full of beautiful women, tropical drinks,
obscene balloon animals, a nude pool full of Sierra employees (no
kidding), and all the spork you can eat? Face facts... you won't find
this anywhere else but your local software store or our website!

And, of course, our website is decorated for the occasion in a plethora
of Larry paraphernalia. We're happy to offer you screenshots,
pre-production pencil sketches, audio files, one totally twisted AVI
movie, a Larry Lady pinup, a particularly nice background wallpaper
file for Windows, hotlinks to Larry's favorite sites, and, if you
haven't read `em yet, two chapters of Al's chronicle of Larry's life!
Please remember that we do not recommend this portion of our website--
or this game--to anyone under 18 years of age, so if you're a young'un,
get your parents' permission before accessing the Larry pages...
http://www.sierra.com/lsl7/

Think Larry for Christmas. Think Larry for Chanukah. Think Larry for
New Year's. Think Larry for National Cheese Week. This holiday season,
why not give the gift of tastelessness to a friend or loved one?

NEW MAC STUFF

OK, I've already mentioned the Mac NASCAR demo and game, but that's not
all we have for our Mac users this issue. New Mac releases include
Police Quest: SWAT and Caesar II. They're available at software
retailers or via our online store. Oh, and you'll also find some new
problem-solving game patches for Gabriel Knight 2 and Phantasmagoria in
the Macs area of our website. So browse away!

K.A.A -- WHAT'S IT ALL ABOUT?

Bet you haven't heard of k.a.a. (Why? Because half of our co-workers
haven't heard of them, and they WORK for us!) k.a.a. is a new Sierra
development team, built around the idea that you shouldn't have to have
a console game system to play the most high-intensity, hair-trigger,
sweat-`til-you-bleed action games around. Haven't you ever looked at
one of those shoot-em-up side scrollers or ultra-slick fighting games
and thought, "heck, I'm sure my Pentium could run this sucker!"? Well,
you're only half right, because the k.a.a. guys are out to prove your
Pentium can run these games twice as good.

The guys down at k.a.a. plan an entire line of hot action games for the
PC. The first, Hunter/Hunted, just released, looks like a conventional
game console side scroller, but it has a big new twist: depth. Instead
of just going left to right, you can also go inside, outside, and
around things in a new way that is unique to this innovative new game.
Choose to play as either man or monster in kill-or-be-killed action
like you've never seen in our new demo:
http://www.sierra.com/hunt/

The soon-to-be-released CyberGladiators promises to be an intense
robotic deathmatch, pitting well-armed and -armored gladiators against
each other in a fight to the finish. It looks like one of those
fighting games on the consoles, but you won't find the spark of
creativity that brings CyberGladiators to life in common console games.
Check out CyberGladiators and the new Screamin 3-D card that takes
fighting games into a whole new dimension.

To celebrate these releases, we've created a special contest that lets
you answer the question "What the heck does k.a.a. stand for,
anyway?" Drop a line to <pr...@sierra.com> and let us know what you
think. The first ten correct answers will be entered into a drawing to
win one incredibly cool letterman-style jacket with an embroidered
k.a.a. logo! The nine other winners will receive copies of Hunter/
Hunted, fresh off the assembly line (mmmm, smell that ink!). Before
you enter, check out the k.a.a. pages... they may give you some ideas...
