Porky Pig's Feat. One of Tashlin's greatest.
Of especial interest to you thanx to the use of Powerhouse

I believe you're referring to the classic 1943 black & white Looney
The very one that first had our idol Ryamond Scott (www.raymomndscott.com)'s
music...PORKY PIG';S FEAT..written by Melvin Millar and directed
("supervised")by Frank Tashlin.

Sounds like PORKY PIG'S FEAT (1943, Frank Tashlin). This is a classic,
with a superb windup gag at the end. I've only seen the colorized
version, and even that is pretty funny. Porky is expecting Daffy to
settle the bill, but he's gambled it away rolling craps with the
bellboys. That's just the opening seconds. At the end, they're all run
over by a truck. (No, not really: don't you hate it when people have to
blab all the good jokes in a cartoon?)

I will answer that question myself. Snafu pulls Bugs out of his knapsack
while searching for his gas mask in "Gas". I still think there's another
Bugs cameo for Snafu.

"Porky Pig's Feat" (1943) directed by Frank Tashlin.

To be perfectly clear, this IS the correct ending. The perception of
abruptness may have been caused by the replacement of "That's all, folks!"
with 90s credits for... well I don't know what.

From the several times I've seen "Porky Pig's Feat", the ending went
like this:
Daffy talks to Bugs over the telephone. Bugs asks Daffy about different
ways of escaping from the hotel and Daffy said he tried all those things.
A door opens and we see Bugs shackled just like Porky & Daffy and saying
"Don't work, do they?" before the fade out.
Thanks. Nobody should ever have to watch a cartoon without knowing the
ending in advance.

The ending is in fact abrupt, in that the gag hits you wham bam and
then quickly fades to black. The irony is that it *seems* like it may
be censored to those seeing it for the first time because we've become
so used to seeing various gutted versions of our treasured cartoons of
the past. Now, any time there's a bit with slightly questionable
timing, or perhaps a single glitched frame, we automatically think
"What did they cut out THIS time?" The censors have even managed to
ruin our enjoyment of the animated classics that they *haven't* yet
butchered!

Yo Greg! Believe it or not, it's use of Raymond Scott's music (I think it
also uses '18th Century') doesn't matter to me... I was interested in this one
because of how zany & extreme it is! Wow, this one is really wild!!
1) Just a typo on my part.
2) I stand corrected.
