Last cartoon of the 1 a.m. showing of the Acme Hour, last Friday.
The cartoon was, I believe, "Pancho's Hideaway" (I missed the title, but
the plot seems to fit).

Interestingly -- I happened to have the 6 a.m. showing taped --
it was not on the morning showing. I'm now curious how often the latest
cartoon varies between the morning and the evening showings.

Not often, but that was a mistake there. That referred to the Saturday
Acme Hour. The past few months the 8 p.m. showing ended short & a non-p.c. toon
sneaked in on the end of the 1 a.m. showing. Apparently CN's listening to us
who want to see those toons, but afraid of showing them where anyone could see.
Of course someone watching could still be offended, but if they're adults it's
evidence they've some growing up yet to do, & if they're kids what're they
doing up @ c.3 in the morning anyway.

Well... I would have sworn it was last Friday's Acme Hour, but
I admit I wasn't taking good notes or, honestly, thinking much about it.
(While I do dislike cartoons being hidden away because of the fear of
complaints, I have to admit it's not one of the things I get worked up
about.) I'm pretty sure it replaced the last half of the morning's
"The Bear That Wasn't," but your recollection may be better than mine.

And as it happens, I taped the Acme Hour this morning, and the
third cartoon in (around 15 minutes past the hour or so) was the early
Speedy cartoon "Cat-Tails For Two." Don't ask me if it'll show up for
the 1 a.m. rebroadcast.

Hey, before proto-Speedy aired Thursday morning, Cartoon Network actually
showed two Tom & Jerry cartoons with Mammy in them overtnight, along with "A
Feather In His Hare" on the overnight Bugs & Daffy.
