Spike TV's site, while still having a space for the RnS show, is
unupdated; it claims launch is in June, but that's the original date
from last summer, I believe. Spike's schedule seems to list up to around
January 10th, but has no RnS option in searching for shows.
I seem to recall it being said the relaunch would be in early 2004, but
of course that could still be months away.

(I note these threads are showing up at
http://www.talkaboutanimation.com/group/alt.animation.spumco/
What's with that? It doesn't even mention that the posters aren't using
the site; the only indication that it's sponging off usenet is in the
url, and it seems to be trying to trick people into signing up for their
service instead of using usenet.)

No date yet. The first of the two shows in production is being animated
right now and the other is being timed.

See ya

Well Steve-

After all the delays, the wind has really been let out of the sails. I saw
the new product your team aired on Spike, and frankly - I find them lacking
in humor, irony and over-stuffed with gross, violent, awful outbursts. (g.
v. and awful outbursts were used as punctuation in the classic episodes).

After enjoying the Time-Life best of DVD's I can see the difference, and
understand my benevolence over the new episodes...maybe you and John K
should look at the old episodes for some inspiration.

I'm not the one making the creative decisions because that's not my job,
but it should be obvious that the new show is a different animal than
the old one. If you've been following the progress of John K's cartoons
for the past ten years, you can see that there is a definite direction
he's pushing in. Look at the changes from the Bjork video to George
Liquor to Boo Boo Runs Wild to Weekend Pussy Hunt to Ren Seeks Help.
It's all there, clear as day. John is trying to do something that's
never been done before and no one else in animation is liable to dare
to do anytime soon.

You may personally prefer the earlier stuff, but it isn't likely that
John is going to go back to the same point he was at ten years ago.
Artists don't stand still. You can rest assured that his present set of
goals is just as ambitious as the ones he set for himself on the
original R&S show. Even when John misses the mark, he does it in a way
that is 100% John K.

If he wants to keep making cartoons for TV instead of flash animations for
the net, he should dial it back a bit. Thats the big difference between
doing stuff on the internet vs TV. I'm not saying its right..just that if
JK wants to keep R&S on television he may have to compromise some.

SW is the only person here that seems to understand that John is a real artist, that animators are artist, and that what he sets out to do is above all things an expression for himself, that does amuse others, whether or not everyone loves every second of it isn't the concern. If you really appericate R&S than you have to respect the brilliant man that brought them to life. Of course it won't be the same show, JK isn't the same person he was, realise this already, please.

Ha, what are you talking about, the ONLY person here? There's plenty of
die-hard Spumco fanatics here; all of the palookas and cuckoos just seem to
congregate here as well, and whine about nonsense more than anything else.
There, I said it! And it's the truth! Now go chomp on some lawn cigars!!!
