Of course it has not ended, and Japan has developed an even worse reputation
than the Soviets for the way it has continued to whale commercially despite
world opinion, and the Orwellian language it has used to distort its quest
('research') and the anti-whaling groups and public. Japanese whalers and
the ICR today are about as trustworthy as the Soviet whalers, and that is
not saying much.
