I hope they were the AR couple that threw paint on me, my motorcycle,
and new leather jacket and leather fur lined bombers hat. My response
was quick and on par with what they had done. I told them I was making
a citizens arrest, and when they started walking away, I kicked out the
guys knee, and when the AR bimbo tried to defend her "man", I broke her
nose. Later on I sued them for damages and won. The police were on my
side. They told me I had done the proper thing, by announcing they were
under arrest. When they decided to resist, i.e. walk away, they opened
themselves up to whatever action it took me to hold them. The cops even
bought me a donut.
This took place in California. With all the wierd stuff you see out
there, I would have never guessed something like this would have
happened to me. It occured 25 years ago, this past October. I still
have the replacement leather jacket and hat. Nothing wears like leather
and fur.

Hmmm, if you've still got any of the original court papers or police
reports, to verify as fact what you're stating above, I know a few
people in another newsgroup who would absolutely _love_ to hear the
story in full detail.
Since PeTA has announced (claiming victory, lol) that it is leaving

interests for activists to understand up front what they may be facing

interest in animals is to see that they are treated ethically. Which to me
means that I participate in habitat restoration, hunt them to help reduce
the population below starvation levels as the natural predators are too low
in number. Pittman-Robertson money and DU have restored more wetlands and
other habitat through money provided by sportsman than any ARA group ever.
Now, as to the original post. Are you the parent of the child ? How did
the child get into the trap ? Does/did either the child or on of the parents
ever ride the "short bus" to school ? Are the parents completly
irresponsible, or is the child blind ?
Just trying to figure out how the kid got into a trap.

It does, however, include the amount of force necessary to enforce

From what I can see of this tread, I'm the only other person who made
anything that could even remotely be considered a request at all. If
there is another poster you are referring to, it is neither referenced
on my server or on dejanews.
This was my request (actually a comment):

Note that nowhere in the above is Richard asked to provide any
information to this newsgroup, or even specifically to -any-
newsgroup. I know of _individuals_ who participate in _another_
newsgroup that would have found the story both interesting and
relevant to their work.
Richard answered and, from my end, the subject was dropped, since the
information without verifiable documentation would be unusable to
those individuals I was referring to.
I'm not a trapper, Marika. I'm not even much of an outdoorsperson.
I'm simply a writer who came to this group looking for some
background information to use in a book I am writing. While I have
not yet found much information on the group itself that has helped me
to build this character, reading this group has led to email contact
that has been most helpful. One poster in particular has provided
insight more than adequate for my needs. For that I thank him again.
In any case, my experience with this newsgroup has been rather
entertaining. The personalities of the posters here have given me
enough information to build the foundations for several characters for
future use.

Then you be rewarded with what you seek. I keep my promises. Now how much more helpful

It would demonstrate, in a positive way for you, that you know the difference between

I wish to take exception to this egregious shrew claim. I am not living a
fantasy. I'm an avid hunter and fisherman. During the course of these
activities, sometimes animals die. If you wish to talk fantasy, how many cute,
cuddly, critters have you imagined saving, due to your efforts here?
The troll must be dumber than dirt, if she believes anyone of us writes from
behind a computer. All of us sit in front of it. Lets us reach the keyboard
and read what we type. Something she obviously does not do.
As far as finding us, who's looking anyway? You? Big whoop. Were scared.

Put her in your killfile. That's right, kill the shrew off. It's not like
anyone will ever miss her, or she might have something of value to say. It
could be one more way to enjoy the "fantasy of killing". Give it a whirl. Just
go to your browsers edit file, then message filters, then new, then sender,
contains Marika, delete. Quite a humane way to dispatch this ignorant shrew.
