Some grainy footage of the new cubs is now on my site at
http://www.permuted.org.uk/fox/movie/cubs220406.html

Plus more photos on my blog and website.

We think that both adults we've been seeing are vixens as there are
quite a number of cubs. Difficult to count as they flit around the
undergrowth, but probably six or seven! Quite a handful for the
parents...

Have you tried putting out chew toys for them?

LOL! Though saying that, when we used to have a dog a good number of
his nylon bones vanished from the garden.

Words,
Good footage of these kits. With the color of their coats changing
from gray to reddish-orange, I think they are venturing away from the
home den. I spotted a vixen and three colored kits a few years ago in a
wood pile along a fence line near a major interstate. The kits played
and effentually saw me. They darted back into the den. The next time,
they were moved, probably by the vixen. She probably thought I was a
danger to them. They were about the same color and size of the kits in
your video.

Thanks. They're about 6 weeks old.

One of the vixens is sometimes out with this lot, and she tends to
shepherd them back to the den if I approach too quickly. But I don't
think she'll move them on as they are pretty well accustomed to living
near humans round this way (and anywhere else they go will be equally
crowded).
