I thought some of you may appreciate this story.
When I was a child, some 30 + years ago, my neighbours had a dog they said
was a Collie and they called Lassie.
This dog looked nothing like a collie to me, but anyway it was a nice dog
and the girl next door was my best friend, so, although I thought it was
kind of a funny name for this dog, it didn't really matter.
Then at about age 25 when I got involved in dog shows, it just hit me. I
was actually standing looking at this dog that looked just like the Lassie
that I had known as a girl. I actually gasped. The dog was mainly black
with white in certain areas. You guessed it... a BORDER COLLIE.
