I guess someone has to get the ball rolling, but this ball comes in
the form of a not-very-good anagram. I hope it serves as a start
anyway.

Margaret Thatcher finally cacks it =
Late crafty 'Milk Snatcher'. Ah, tragic.

Not wishing to steal Tony 'tc' Crafter's thunder by posting his heartfelt anagram*, nor intending particularly to dishonour the departed, but I think it fair to report that some people were not so keen on Thatcher, and have a balancing gram of the same letters showing the polarisation she provoked in public opinion:

'Iron Lady' Margaret Hilda Thatcher dies
=
Oh, that's tragic. And I really admired her.
=
Not real tragic. I'm hardly sad. I hated her.

which camp are you in?

* I spoke to Tony and he was happy for me to post his 'gram.

Very apt, and very balanced indeed. But I think I like the first one
better. For style, of course, not for contents. :-)

I'm not sure, that's all so long ago. Wasn't she married to Ronald
Reagan? (That guy who stood at the Brandenburg Gate and shouted "Mr.
Gorbachev, ich bin ein Berliner!")

I'm partial to the first gram as well. I always admired the way she
stood up for her beliefs even if I didn't agree with every one of them.

Wilhelm, you've certainly got several items mixed together in that
historical[hysterical?] rewrite! Everyone knows Bobby Kennedy announced
he was a jelly doughnut while standing on the Great Wall of China...

Agreed, though the third-hand side is certainly not bad either. Two
'Good one!'s for Tony from here. There was some laughing out loud.
