Never been there, but Andre Breton, the pope of surrealism,
was one of the least surreal people I've read about.

No no, Dali couldn't have been a real surrealist,
since everybody in the world understands and loves him.
He was just too much fun.
He captured the essentials of surrealism and turned them
into Entertainment. Yay! More power to him!

Sounds like authentic rehashes of Andre Breton,
who was indeed no fun at all.
This is of course just my opinion as an incurable DADAist,
who thinks that Breton gutted and killed DADA
by taming its rebellion and turning it into a cute art form,
fit for Parisian cafe and salon life.
Oh dear, considering that my own doodlings refuse to adhere
to any kind of rebellion or ideology, I sound rather hypocritical.
But but but, I love pontificating!
I am the Pontifex Minimus, the silly anti-pope.
