He did have 10,000 names of famous people who he got to be friends with during
private UFO briefings -- everyone from Barry Goldwater to top gummint
officials, artists, scientists, actors... The "appeal to authority/celebrity"
was pretty overwhelming.
He opened the general session with comparing people who refuse to believe in
UFOs with neo-Nazis who deny the Holocaust ever happened. Not auspicatory to
rational exchanges of differing views, I responded.
Greer believes the coverup conspiracy is beyond the government, and that
government agencies including the CIA and the Pentagon are "out of the loop".
More than 200 UFOs have crashed, many of them deliberately attacked by various
military groups. He pinpointed an industrial cabal headed by E-systems and SAIC
-- Science Applications International Corporation -- as the center of the
secret government.
He insisted that the conspiracy murdered people in order to maintain the
coverup, but during repeated inquiries from me and from the audience, he
refused to name a single example. When I asked "Why are YOU still alive?", he
just said, "I don't know".
I specifically criticized his group for putting demonstrable nonsense on his
cseti web page -- like a silly story about cosmonaut Afanasyev involving dates
and missions totally faked -- and I spent some time defending the
"thruster-blasted ice" explanation for the 1991 STS-48 zig-zag space UFO
videos, using never before seen telemetry data from NASA -- but Greer insisted
he was not responsible for the website contents, any mistakes weren't his
fault, and he would be happy to make any corrections when proven needed.
Needless to say, no corrections have yet been made on the website and I'm not
holding my breath.
An interesting experience!
Outline of Opening Remarks Prepared for Delivery at Purdue,
James Oberg // March 31, 1999
Subject: Are We Being visited -- a fascinating topic, whether it turns out to
be true or not. If true, greatest event in human civilization; if not, merely
the greatest popular delusion of the century.
CSETI's work -- which annoyed most of the established UFO organizations -- is
one direction, and I have encouraged it to this extent: all stories should come
out, regardless of fear of legal constraints. At OMNI magazine -- where I was
the main UFO writer for the entire history of the magazine, from the very first
issue in 1978 to the very last -- we did "Operation Open Book", promised to pay
legal expenses, sought people with stories. We came to believe that the fear of
punishment for disclosure was a mirage, that nobody has EVER been prosecuted or
even persecuted for "spilling gummint secrets" about UFOs. And if the idea
about the UFO coverup being a non-governmental group has any validity, the
threat of federal legal sanctions becomes irrelevant.
There is an enormous body of folklore and claims on this subject, far beyond
what can be discussed here. Ranging from millions of everyday perceptions by
witnesses, to the polymorphic legend of Roswell, to current abductions,
implants, and psychic contact -- overwhelming in its richness, breadth, and
fundamentally human themes. Ubiquitous in time and space, throughout history,
all around the world.
I've been fascinated from childhood -- read Keyhoe's books, tried to decode
Adamski's letters from Venus, watched the skies. Saw my first UFO when I was
14: a brilliant rosy light in the post-sunset Western sky. Solved my first UFO
case a few minutes later, when I called a friend in a neighboring town, asked
them to take a compass reading on it, and triangulated its position and
altitude, so when it faded out, I was able to calculate it was because of
sunset at the altitude the object -- clearly a high-altitude balloon -- was
hovering at.
My own specialization, spaceflight operations and history, particularly Russian
aspects, has allowed me to probe farther on many famous cases. Whether it be
claims that astronauts have encountered UFOs, or Russian stories, or actually
sightings around the world that could be traced back to space activities, I've
discovered that an inadvertant but crucial experiment has been accidentally set
in motion: confront witnesses with a well-defined and startling visual
apparition, and see what they perceive, and see what they later remember, and
see how the story evolves in the folklore of our civilization. In particular,
notice how the self-proclaimed UFO experts, the "serious scientists" devoted to
unraveling the mysteries of the phenomenon, missed the boat, swallowed easily
detectable errors, failed to follow up obvious leads, failed to exploit lucky
breaks, jumped to and championed erroneous interpretations -- it's not a pretty
picture, not at all.
These stories -- the ones I've "solved" -- were sparked by government
activities in the US, in Russia, in China, and elsewhere, often activities
which the governments didn't want to talk about, wanted to keep secret. Few
cases were deliberate, it was a happy accident that the public was misled by
the UFO camouflage (I do know of one case where the camouflage was deliberate).
But it leads to a better understanding of the UFO phenomenon.
I've shown how Soviet space-to-ground warhead tests in the late 1960s were
reported as a wave of crescent-shaped UFOs and endorsed by top ufo experts all
over the world to this day (and the Academy of Sciences endorsed the sightings
as genuinely anaomalous). I've seen sunlit fuel clouds from Russian and
Japanese rocket stages cause wide-area panics in underlying regions, from South
America to China to Australia -- with classic reports of car chases, radar
confirmations, power failures, bizarre motion, telepathic contact, even in one
Brazilian case, sex with the female pilot. One Russian rocket launching in
1984, seen from two Soviet airliners, has become known as the best-ever Russian
UFO case, with visual, radar, and physical evidence (one pilot later died,
allegedly from radiation exposure to a death beam from the saucer) -- except
that the visual stimulus is unarguably identical to that of a rocket launching
from a secret base in northwest Russia. In 1977, another launching -- the spy
satellite Kosmos-955 -- created what Russian UFO experts consider the "smoking
gun" of Russian ufos, a giant glowing jellyfish which dangled tentacles over
cities, crashed computers, sprayed ozone, chased locomotives, drilled tiny
holes in paving stones and windows.... and which one official Soviet spokesmen
even suggested might have been something like swamp gas.
And it's the basis for why I don't "believe" in UFOs, don't believe that the
phenomenon MUST require an extraordinary, extraterrestrial, unknown-to-science
stimuli. My experience has been that contemporary civilization is entirely
capable of producing and misinterpreting more than enough visual apparitions,
scrap metal, dreams, and tall tales to feed the folklore. Nothing more is
needed.
Doesn't prove it ISN'T there -- they could be, and are more baffled than us
about who it is we're seeing, since they've been cautious not to be visible.
There's no A PRIORI reason why there couldn't be visitors, in the past or now.
In fact, that's another benefit of studying this topic: we sharpen our skills,
refine our criteria to be applied NEXT time, prepare ourselves to search and
recognize evidence of ETI. We stretch our minds and exercise our imaginations
-- but the danger is always that some people may open their minds so far their
brains fall out. I'll give examples.
How do we evaluate an event based on oral testimony? How do we assess the level
of reliability of witness testimony? These are fundamental historiographical
questions, and the sound techniques of professional historians and researchers
might prove helpful to people now trying to reconstruct long-ago events through
stories people tell.
And do people ever tell stories! Remember the famous picture of the sailor
kissing the girl in Times Square on VJ Day? Would it surprise you that there
are a DOZEN different men who each SWEARS he was the guy in the picture? And
when a biographer researching LBJ's early life came to the incident where he
sent a friend down the street to pick up the engagement ring for Lady Bird that
he's forgotten at his office, he discovered FOUR different men who each SWORE
they had been the guy running the errand -- down to precise details, to
memories of their feelings and thoughts, everything.
Events don't even have to happen for people to remember taking part in them. My
earliest research on Soviet space mysteries was in assessing -- and eventually
rejecting -- the claims that many Russian space pilots had been killed on
secret space missions back at the dawn of the Space Age. With better hindsight
and full access to the records and personnel over there, that conclusion has
been validated as strongly as any historical fact can be. Yet I have letters
from military veterans, or from their families, full of sincere narratives of
being involved with monitoring dying cosmonauts, of searching for their crashed
capsules, of seeing the reports and the hearing the tapes of events which we
can be sure never happened.
Fortunately, narratives often contain 'tracers', clues to their validity,
usually in the form of extraneous details which while insignificant to the
teller may accidentally provide crucial validation of their memories. And
similarly, narratives also contain 'trojan horses', known fictions which the
teller has integrated into the story as it improves with age, expands with
retelling, as the narrator moves from being a peripheral character to one more
and more central to the action -- a very common effect recognized by
experienced researchers.
When recreating the 1957 Urals "nuclear waste disaster" for my 1988 book,
"Uncovering Soviet Disasters", I was confronted with a mass of documentation
and transcripts, often confused, contradictory, and always incomplete. Yet once
and awhile, something reliable showed up.
Yakov Menaker -- now in Israel -- had been a young man living near Chelyabinsk,
had seen many post-disaster actions with his own eyes, had watched his mother
and then his wife die of radiation poisoning -- or so he said. In one of his
letters, describing how the animals and plants in the fenced off regions had
changed, he mentioned in passing how the birch trees were still flourishing but
all the pine trees nearby had died. He didn't know it, but studies at Oak Ridge
confirmed that coniferous trees are more vulnerable to low-level persistent
radiation than are deciduous trees. His throw-away observation was in fact
powerful verification that he really had seen what he claimed to have seen --
and a decade later, newly released official Soviet-era reports backed him up
even further.
Another example of what I call "narrative drift" comes in the stories told by
astronaut Gordon Cooper, by all accounts a man of intelligence and integrity.
He always has been willing to discuss the UFO incident that occurred while he
was stationed at Edwards AFB in California, prior to becoming a Mercury
astronaut. His first recorded narratives, to OMNI magazine in the late 1970s,
described a white object photographed by a camera crew, which drifted by their
tower. He was careful to say that he had only heard the story, that he was not
a direct witness.
Ten years later, after many retellings, the object was said to have landed --
and Cooper now claimed that HE had been the officer in charge of the camera
crew and had seen the films before sending them to Washington where they
vanished.
By some lucky breaks, I was able to locate the cameramen, the officer who did
the interviews for Project Blue Book, and the base historian, who confirmed
that the landing of the object was a wide rumor at the time. But the films --
which are still in the Blue Book files and can be found by any investigator --
only show the object drifting slowly, right along with the wind, and leading
directly away from the site where it had been inflated and released by a
weather station a few minutes earlier. And the cameramen, still believing it
was unexplainable, were astonished to hear from me that Gordon Cooper had even
been on the base at the time -- they hadn't known it, and they were sure he
hadn't been their boss.
In another story, Cooper describes encounters with fleets of airborne UFOs over
Germany in 1951. I managed to contact more than a dozen of his colleagues at
the base, and had friends comb the newspaper and UFO club files from Munich --
near the base. There was nothing -- no other memory or record of the event. But
when an old NASA buddy told me of an earlier version of the same story Cooper
had been telling, where it had happened in the US, he mentioned the official AF
explanation, which Cooper had scoffed at. In an attempt to spark a reaction --
and more details -- from Cooper, my editor at Columbia University Press sent
him a draft chapter of my report. Cooper never answered, but long afterwards,
there WAS a measurable response. In my review manuscript I had substituted one
'explanation' for the actual detail I had been told, hoping that Cooper would
be provoked to correct it. He never did -- and ten years later, when retelling
the story in greater and greater detail, he mentioned on television that the
Air Force had tried to tell him the UFOs were "seed pods", a laughable excuse
in his opinion. It was indeed "laughable", because the phrase "seed pods" was
the 'trojan horse' I had inserted in the manuscript sent to him for his review.
It had not been meant to decieve him, it was an attempt to elicit further
details which failed -- and which succeeded in showing how somebody may
honestly and sincerely confabulate external details into a narrative.
We have any number of far more obvious confabulations -- narratives which have
drifted far, far from the original perceptions, often incorporating outside
themes and events -- in looking at claims about space activities and UFO
secrets associated with them. There's a guy who claimed to have been let into
the secret "zero gravity" room at NASA which had been built from UFO technology
to allow people to float in the air -- a claim repeated credulously in leading
UFO books all over the world. There's the guy who gave detailed accounts of his
visits to the Lunar and Planetary Institute in Houston where he was able to
sneak through a partially open door and see the archives of secret UFO photos,
stored in the basement of the building next to the secret underground tunnels
connecting it to other NASA facilities (when I later visited the site with the
magazine editor who had published the stories, it was almost too painful to
watch her face as we explored the building and found there was no basement, no
secret tunnel).
Now, why would I be unwilling to believe the stories that Dr. Greer has
presented from one of his star witnesses, Donna Hare? Again, without any reason
to impugn her intelligence, sincerity, or integrity, let me explain why I find
it impossible to believe her claims about secret UFO information covered up at
NASA.
Ms. Hare worked at the NASA center in Houston for a number of years between the
Apollo and the beginning of the Shuttle program. She has testified that:
1. She saw a space photograph with a UFO on it, and a technician was
airbrushing it out prior to public release.
2. She was told (and clearly believed) that all space flights were followed by
UFOs but astronauts were sworn to secrecy and threatened with grave punishments
if they revealed it.
3. She was told (and clearly believed) that there were space photographs
showing a cattle mutilation in progress by a UFO, with cattle in the field
standing with their tails straight up in alarm.
4. She was told (and clearly believed) that UFOs had been responsible for
crippling the Apollo-13 spacecraft, so as to prevent it from reaching its
intended landing area on the back side of the Moon -- but then, the UFOs had
further interfered by aiding the doomed spaceship and making it possible for it
to return safely to Earth.
I cannot believe the first item, the only one of the four to which she was a
direct witness, because she described the photograph as showing trees and their
shadows, which allowed her to determine the low altitude of the white circle
she saw (and which she described as "a metallic disk") from its shadow on the
ground. From what I know of NASA space photography, I believe it was impossible
then or now for NASA to produce Earth surface images with sufficient detail to
show a tree and its shadow. A vigorous search by several ufo buffs recently for
such pictures in NASA's archives (the photo was described as being prepared for
public sale) failed to locate any. Ms. Hare recently retorted that of course
NASA had such pictures: "We not only had the technology to see a number on a
golf ball back then, we used it in the Bay of Pigs -- remember? -- to see
Cuban/Russian missiles aimed at our country." Aside from a confusion of the Bay
of Pigs with the Cuban Missile Crisis, and the use at that time of U-2 spy
planes, not satellites, the additional confusion of what super-secret military
spy satellites could see and what NASA was interested in and had in its
possession, gives me additional confidence that my disbelief in this story is
logical.
Nor can I believe the claim about all astronauts seeing UFOs and being ordered
to cover it up. Aside from my personal research into these bogus and confused
stories -- see my home page for links -- there is the testimony of Apollo-14
astronaut Edgar Mitchell, a great supporter of Dr. Greer's efforts to dig into
this mystery. Mitchell has said that these astronaut UFO stories are fiction,
are untrue. Dr. Greer cannot expect us to believe both Ms. Hare's claims and
Dr. Mitchell's utterly contrary assurances simultaneously. By the way,
Apollo-13 wasn't headed for the back side of the Moon after all -- somebody
with a good grounding in the reality of space flight would have known that and
might have been embarrassed to repeat it.
Sticking to this topic, I want to get into two more claims from Dr. Greer which
give me more reason for me not to believe that his material is reliable,
trustworthy, and helpful. It deals with sightings by men on space missions.
CSETI's home page presents the story of cosmonaut Viktor Afanasyev, who
describes a structured UFO pacing his space capsule. Here's why I find this
claim impossible to believe.
The text claims that Afanasyev blasted off from Star City, Russia, in April
1979. Aside from misspelling the Salyut space station as "Solyut", there are
worse problems. Nobody blasts off from Star City, it's the training base near
Moscow, and there are no launch pads -- not a one. And in April 1979, Afanasyev
wasn't even a cosmonaut -- he didn't fly into space until December 1990, more
than a decade later. He never flew to the Salyut space station, he flew to Mir,
three times (and is there now, by the way). Nobody else docked with Salyut or
any other space station in April 1979 either. So whoever created this text knew
NOTHING but gibberish about the Russian space program -- the same goes for the
people who put this on their home page hoping you would believe it -- and it's
a good bet that Afanasyev, who DOES know when he blasted off, from where, and
what his destination was, had nothing to do with the creation of the story.
The other story I want to spend a great deal of time on involves the video from
STS-48 which shows a zig-zag dot -- widely interpreted as evidence of UFO
attacks and secret Star Wars technologies. NASA experts looked at the tape, at
the request of a congressman who had been pinged by a ufo buff constituent, and
they concluded it was a small piece of sunlit debris hit by exhaust from a
steering thruster.
For the past five years, that case has surged to become one of the most famous
-- and widely endorsed -- UFO events in history. Scientists have written
technical studies, TV shows have highlighted it -- from the tabloid TV exposés
to Larry King to even a major network, NBC -- and every new book has to spend
deveral pages bragging about it.
I will show in a separate set of briefing charts why I believe the NASA
explanation is correct and why the UFO versions are evidence for inadequate
research, poor standards of analysis, faulty logic, and overall lack of
adequate technical competence. If I can demonstrate this, it becomes one more
reason -- and a powerful one -- for not trusting any similar claims from the
same sources.
At the CSETI home page, the STS-48 event is described as "some kind of
directed-energy beam attack". Various factual assertions are made, some merely
based on lack of knowledge (the "attitude of the horizon does not change" --
misusing the technical term "attitude", along the way) and others on an
apparent intent to promulgate misinformation ("All live feed from NASA shuttles
was discontinued" -- a claim that clearly is untrue since on later flights even
more videos of moving dots have been hailed as UFOs). Behind the blizzard of
techno-gibberish, I've concluded there's nothing but bluff and bluster.
Now, let me try to prove this.....
>The Greer-Oberg debate at Purdue on March 31 was illuminating. In some ways,
>his material was astonishingly naive, quoting from experts in the 1940s and
>1950s -- including three references to Herman Oberth, the 'father of space

They are. These fundamental axioms of Believerism form the very
cornerstone of Father Steven's Church of the Friendly Martians.
>He opened the general session with comparing people who refuse to believe in
>UFOs with neo-Nazis who deny the Holocaust ever happened. Not auspicatory to

But it sure whips the believers into a frenzy. Thus we witness the
birth of a Scientific Jihad amongst the Martian Zealots. Still,
things are slightly different here on usenet -- we simply call the
blasphemous debunking infidels sp00ks.
The nazi thing is a nice touch -- guaranteed to invoke deeper, more
visceral emotions and therefore more vehement support in the Believers
Camp. It appears Steve's been taking lessons from Whitehouse Billy on
how to evoke the horrific spectre of quasi-nazism to manipulate the
unwashed masses.
Machiavelli'd be proud.
>Greer believes the coverup conspiracy is beyond the government, and that
>government agencies including the CIA and the Pentagon are "out of the loop".
Around here, we use RESPECT when referring to The Conspiracy(tm) --
they have spies and assets EVERYwhere, you know. I mean, I really
don't care if you don't capitalize cia or pentagon, but if you want
your life to be worth more than $.02, you damn well better show some
respect towards The Conspiracy.
And I mean it this time.
>More than 200 UFOs have crashed, many of them deliberately attacked by various
>military groups. He pinpointed an industrial cabal headed by E-systems and SAIC

Of course, we all know this is true as well. With NSA's Bobby Ray
Inman, CIA's John Deutsch and good ole Mel Laird at the helm, that
boat's headin' straight to hell -- and they're gonna take as many of
those goddam spindly li'l Martians as they can with 'em!
Say, you used to work for SAIC, didn't you Jim?
And I thought E-Systems was acquired by Raytheon (Raytheon, of course,
being a subsidiary of The Conspiracy).
>He insisted that the conspiracy murdered people in order to maintain the

Don't tell me you actually fell for his clever trick? All of us
UFOlogists have known for quite awhile now that Greer was replaced by
a synthetic robotoid clone. The Conspiracy murdered the real Steven
Greer years ago.
C'mon, Jim, get with the program, pal.

It is an interesting sociological exercise to watch news reports
like the Washington Post article on Einhorn (below) filter through
the perceptive lenses of various analysts or commentators. Like
the three blind men and the elephant, each perceives the very same
data from within the constraints of their own tautological frame-
work; much the same as the way in which the Fatima event, for
example, was described by some as a UFO-like spinning disk shooting
sparks while others saw the very same event as a visitation by the
so-called "Blessed Virgin Mary!"
In the case of the Boylanian Cosmology/Weltanschauung -- as seen
through the goggles of Star Trek's Geordi LaForge -- the report
must needs revolve around far more than just a mundane account of
a hippy fugitive fleeing American justice. Indeed, it must all
be somehow woven into the fabric of The Conspiracy -- that most
hideous of all diabolical paragovernmental organisations, "The
UFO CoverUp."
Though the name of the proposed nefarious organisation strikes us
as more a verb than a noun, still, it provides an apparently useful
focal point of sorts -- a nemesis, as it were -- for those who feel
their lives have been somehow sidetracked, derailed, or otherwise
disrupted by the cruel acts of an apparently omnipotent group of
unidentified mysterious hoodlums; a group which "We" can always,
of course, vaguely refer to as "Them" whenever anything goes wrong
in our own lives.
Still, once stripped of the ubiquitous sci-fi overlay, this latest
epistle from the Good Doctor did make some very lucid observations
and ask some poignant (albeit blatantly obvious) questions.

A refusal by a friendly European nation to extradite a convicted
murderer? What sort of precedent is this?! What bargaining chips
has our friend The Unicorn brought to the table?
No extradition, mon ami?
Oh, what secrets hideth he!
As far as we can recall, it was intelligence asset Bill Moore who
first coined the phrase "useful idiot" as a moniker employed to
describe individuals who apparently had difficulty perceiving
the fact that they served merely as robotic carnival barkers whose
sole function was to further spread the memetic virii of their
devious handlers. Moore, in fact, labelled himself such (as noted
in Howard Blum's _Out There_) "without a trace of irony in his
voice." Now considering the source of the reports in Richard's
analysis, why would he knowingly play "useful idiot" for the
Dynamic Duo of Aquarium (and Aviarian!) Adepti [...] if there were
not another perhaps more myopic agenda he sought
to promote?
It may be noted with some amusement here that it was not
without a coy smile that we read the Post's astute aside:
"Einhorn was arrested but proclaimed his innocence, claiming
he had been framed by the CIA to silence him because of
research he was conducting into psychological warfare involving
paranormal phenomena."
Why, do you mean to tell me here, Brother Blue, that the CIA (et
al) would actually have the audacity to ride in on the coattails of
pre-existing paranormal phenomena, attempting to exploit the same
for their own nefarious PSY-OP purposes?
Ah, but who toys with who here; for there are many levels at play!
Perhaps we would do well to chew on that one for awhile, for there
doubtless exists players who play the players and players above
even them -- again on many, even transmundane, levels. He who
laughs last, etc.
And so it goes!
It seems unfortunate that no matter how often we attempt to point
out logical inconsistencies, the notions never seem to quite
settle into the collective unconscious of Club UFOlogy. For
instance, if the clever space aliens bequeathed unto Col. Corso
the Stealthy Secrets of Radar Invisibility, then why did they
apparently forget to employ the very same technology on their own
crafts, choosing instead to litter our radar screens with countless
distracting FastWalker(tm) blips? And why do the Martian Scientist
require so many "DNA scoops" and semen/ova "samples" from the same
victims time and time again -- have they forgotten to pack their
petrie dishes before heading earthward?
Along similar lines of inconsistency, why is it that everyone who
dares disagree with the rigid morals and dogmas of the religion
of UFOlogy is instantly branded an infidel, a heretic, and a sp00k
yet on the flip side of the very same coin, UFOlogists immediately
receive with throngs of praise and thanksgiving reports which
support their BELIEF system, yet proceed from such shadowy military
or intelligence operatives as Corso, Alexander, Maccabee, Puthoff,
etc. etc. etc. ad ridiculum?
Do I psee a Seinfeld episode in the making here...?
In any event, we too received a call from the mysterious "Beltway
Throat" (ooh, how we love the cloak and dagger intrigue!), alerting
us as well to the Post article (below). Yet dance with impetuous
glee we did not, thinking it far wiser to reason things out first;
scratching our noggins in sheer disbelief over what appeared to be
transpiring here:
> BT said that his CIA source planned to provide a "leak"
>about the Einhorn-Green Mind Control-UFO Cover-Up
>connection to major newspaper reporters. That story will
>include additional lurid personal details about Einhorn and
>Green to make publicizing the "leak" irresistible. It is CIA

>Green's involvement in Mind Control experiments
Yeah, yeah, so peradventure Kit was nailing Holly (Holly Maddox,
Ira's now quite dead old lady). So what? Those living in glass
jacuzzis, etc. But let's get to the truly juicy stuff, shall we?
> It is worth exploring what it means that the current
>occupant of the UFO Desk at CIA is snitching off his
>predecessor.
BINGO! Now THAT alone is worth the price of admission; the most
intriguing facet of the entire affair! Granted, we've all seen
the predictably cyclic internecine feeding frenzies break out
amongst the li'l guys in the UFOlocial camp but this is big, and
strikingly cross-cultural! Why on earth would Kit's own Magickal
Childe and dear friend -- Brother Roland -- turn on him with such
cannibalistic frenzy? Has anyone else bothered to use their PSI
to drop in on him at work recently?
"I'll take a Damage-Control on the rocks, barkeep." remarks our
Brother at the Langley Lodge bar, "Uh ... better make that a
double."
And what the hell's the deal with Kit's position at GM anyway?
What on earth is an automobile manufacturer doing with a Biomedical
Sciences Division? Do they keep him on staff in case any of their
cars get sick?
So many questions!
Desirous of some additional feedback from "Them," we deliberately
held off any public postings (the thinly veiled intent of
"Beltway's" dropping a dime in the first place) and instead baited
a hook with an ostensibly foolish, strategically Sufistic pseudo-
liber entitled, simply, "Cultus Unicornus: Why do Kit's friends
keep wakin' up dead?" (let us not forget Pat Price as well!) and
dropped the trawl-line off the starboard bow, right into the
Penguin's Pond. Ice fishin', as it were.
The only nibble forthcoming took the form of a brief comment from
a Bay-area Quantumite hailing from Chapel Scientism:
"Ira told me directly that he had been framed by the KGB not
the CIA. Hank Harrison, Courtney Love's father, told me
directly that he thinks Ira is guilty of maybe more than one
murder. Hank said Ira was under CIA protection in Dublin.
This is all hearsay and I do not know what is true. I do
know that Congressman Charlie Rose then of the House Select
Committee on Intelligence told me in a phone conversation
that Ira was working with him. So it makes no sense that
the CIA would frame Ira since he was working for them."
Oh, what a tangled web we weave, etc.!

France Rejects Extradition For U.S. Killer:
Ruling Outrages American Officials
By William Branigin
Washington Post Staff Writer
Friday, December 5, 1997; Page A03
A French court yesterday refused to extradite to the United States
an American self-styled counterculture guru who was convicted 20
years ago of bludgeoning his girlfriend to death and storing her
body in a steamer trunk in one of Philadelphia's most celebrated
murder cases.
Hours after the decision, Ira Einhorn, 57, who fled to Europe
shortly before his 1981 trial and was later found guilty in
absentia, was granted conditional release by a second French
court that is considering an immigration case against him. He
entered France illegally with a false Irish passport and has
been living for the past four years under an assumed name with
his Swedish wife in a converted stone mill near Bordeaux. The
court ordered him to report his whereabouts to French judicial
authorities every two weeks pending a ruling on his immigration
status.
The decision by a French court of appeals in Bordeaux to reject
a U.S. extradition request outraged American officials.
Philadelphia assistant district attorney Joel Rosen, who
prosecuted Einhorn for the 1977 murder, expressed disgust that
the court had "refused to turn over an American citizen who
killed another American citizen on U.S. soil." He said the
ruling flies in the face of an extradition treaty between the
two countries.
The presiding judge in the case based the decision on the fact
that Einhorn had been tried in absentia, Rosen said. French law
requires a retrial for anyone convicted in absentia, and there
was no provision for Einhorn to get a new trial. In his U.S.
trial he received a life sentence.
Rosen said Einhorn, represented at the time by defense lawyer
Arlen Specter, now a Republican senator from Pennsylvania,
skipped out on $40,000 bond and fled the country a week before
his trial was scheduled to start. Apparently, the prosecutor
said with sarcasm, the French court did not consider that
spending 16 years as a fugitive meant that Einhorn had waived
his right to be present at his trial.
"The United States has learned today to its distress that it
still has lessons to learn from old Europe in matters of human
rights," said Dominique Delthil, one of Einhorn's French lawyers,
after the decision was announced.
The French government, which has been pursuing the U.S.
extradition request since Einhorn was tracked down in southwestern
France in June, immediately appealed the ruling to a higher court.
The case has captivated Philadelphia, where Einhorn acquired a
reputation in the 1960s and `70s as the city's best-known hippie,
an anti-war activist and environmentalist who lectured on paranormal
psychology and futurism and won a following among Philadelphia's
elite. He became known as the city's original "flower child,"
called himself "the Unicorn" and served as a liaison between the
"counterculture" and local corporate leaders.
According to prosecutors, he was also a jealous lover who murdered
his girlfriend, Helen "Holly" Maddux of Tyler, Tex., in his
apartment when she tried to break up with him and began seeing
another man. He claimed she had left on an errand and never
returned, but after a private investigator for her family found
evidence of foul play and students living below reported a
mysterious fluid dripping into their apartment, police obtained a
search warrant and made a grisly discovery.
In 1979, a year and a half after she had disappeared, the mummified
body of Maddux was found stuffed in a steamer trunk in a closet of
Einhorn's apartment. She had been beaten to death with a blunt
instrument and her skull crushed. Einhorn was arrested but
proclaimed his innocence, claiming he had been framed by the CIA
to silence him because of research he was conducting into
psychological warfare involving paranormal phenomena.
It was a claim he repeated in court in France. Wearing jeans and
a long, wispy white goatee, Einhorn invoked the CIA and his study
of "psychotronics," which he defined as dealing with the
"psychological components of weapons systems," in asserting that
he was being persecuted.
After fleeing the United States, Einhorn lived under assumed names
in Ireland, England and Sweden before moving to France. Towns-
people in the village of Champagne-Mouton, where he lived in a
century-old mill with his Swedish wife Annika Flodin, knew him as
Eugene Mallon, a name he took from an Irish bookseller he knew in
Dublin. The couple bought the mill four years ago for more than
$100,000 and lived comfortably there, although neither held a job.
Investigators have speculated that Einhorn received money from
wealthy benefactors, including a Canadian heiress to a liquor
fortune.

CIA Plans Indirect Disclosure of UFO Cover-Up
A man I've dubbed "Beltway Throat", a highly-reliable
Washington source with connections to CIA's top UFO
expert, informed me today that there are Mind Control and
ultimately UFO Cover-Up implications to the current news
story about France's refusal to extradite Ira Einhorn to the
U.S. despite the U.S.'s request.
Einhorn was accused of murder, but fled the U.S. to
France. A current Washington Post news story contains
allegations that Einhorn had worked for the U.S. Government.
"Beltway Throat" [BT] offers "the rest of the story", as
follows.
According to BT, Einhorn was deeply involved in Mind
Control projects for U.S. Intelligence. Also involved in those
mind control projects was Christopher "Kit" Green, M.D.,
Ph.D., Chief of General Motors' Research and Development
Center, and reported to have been the former CIA top expert
on UFO matters. (The Mind Control and UFO Cover-Up
connection goes like this. Intelligence began "black projects"
to attempt to match the telepathic and mind-influencing
abilities of the extraterrestrials they held captive at secret
underground installations. Military Intelligence coveted such
powers to penetrate the mind of a subject and make him see
whatever you wanted him to see.)
BT reminds that Kit Green served as a forensic expert for
the prosecution at Ira Einhorn's murder trial. BT suggested
that Dr. Green deliberately served as the prosecution's expert
in order to sabotage the prosecution's case, and thus assist
Einhorn in getting acquitted. BT intimated that Green's
motive would be helping a fellow accomplice in Intelligence
mind-control experiments, widely viewed as unethical and
illegal, and perhaps assuring Einhorn's continued silence
about those dark matters.
BT said that his CIA source planned to provide a "leak"
about the Einhorn-Green Mind Control-UFO Cover-Up
connection to major newspaper reporters. That story will
include additional lurid personal details about Einhorn and
Green to make publicizing the "leak" irresistible. It is CIA
source's strategy to create a full news media inquiry into Dr.
Green's involvement in Mind Control experiments, and
thence to the extraterrestrial studies which led to those
Mind Control projects. This Byzantine approach to
unraveling the UFO Cover-Up is a classic example of CIA
strategy, in which the line between Point A and Point B
resembles a pretzel.
It is worth exploring what it means that the current
occupant of the UFO Desk at CIA is snitching off his
predecessor. Multiple knowledgeable sources confirm that
there is a civil war going on within Intelligence and the
military over whether to end the UFO Cover-Up. The
"conservatives" want to hang on to status quo as long as
possible. Their reasons include: fear of destabilizing social
order (read: their careers), fear of the public outrage when
the harassment of citizens and the criminal deeds done under
cover of "national security" get exposed, the need to develop
ET technology in secret into super-weapons in case of alien
attack, and the astronomical profits and kickbacks to be made
from siphoning classified extraterrestrial ultra-technology into
insider corporations.
The "progressives" feel that the Cold War is over, and
there is no further realistic need to hide UFO reality. Further,
they believe that decades of information indicates that the
extraterrestrials are benign, and that the public interest is best
served by the public's being aware of what has been learned
from government communication with the extraterrestrials.
BT also noted that the current Capitol Hill fracture between
Liberals and Conservatives has slowed down the holding of
Congressional Hearings to allow former government insiders to
publicly testify about UFO reality. It seems that each side wants
to pin political blame for the UFO Cover-Up on the other.
I pointed out to BT that, with now ten Presidents and 25
Congresses having sanctioned the deception of the American
public about UFO matters, there is enough political blame to
go around for both parties.

mythos by Martin S. Kottmeyer

Excerpt:
Also notable, particularly in light of interviews where the
author claims the book is based in part on his actual experiences,
is Philip K. Dick's "Valis" (1981). The title refers to an
influencing machine from the star system Sirius. The protagonist
explains its operation by saying: "Sites of his brain were being
selectively stimulated by tight energy beams from far off, perhaps
millions of miles away".
The narrator is convinced of the insanity of the idea of Valis
and is struck by the oddity of "a lunatic discounting his halluci-
nations in this sophisticated anner; Fat (the protagonist) had
intellectually dealed himself out of the game of madnesss while
still enjoying its sights and sounds". The belief that long-range,
tight, information-rich beams of energy focused on his head allowed
him to recognise his hallucinations as hallucinations. "But...he
now had a "they"". Not much improvement, in the opinion of the
narrator.

Einhorn also served for a time as an aid to Congressman Charlie Rose
(D-N.C.), who himself was keenly interested in Tesla's inventions,
and other suppressed high-tech. Elsewhere in OMC, Bowart chronicles
a meeting between Congressman Rose and a Canadian inventor in the
late seventies who had developed a helmet--that when placed upon
the head--would take it's wearer into another world, much like the
VR eyegear-unit postulated in the movie Brainstorm.
One such virtual reality scenario played out upon the wearer's of
said helmet was a mock alien abduction. Congressman Rose put on the
helmet and was run through this virtual reality/alien abduction
programme. Much to his amazement, the simulated scenario seemed
incredibly realistic. This device sounds quite similar to Michael
Persinger's much touted "Magic Helmet", which has been receiving a
fair amount of press recently. Although Bowart doesn't name the
inventor of the helmet, chances are it was Persinger to whom he was
referring. Persinger's name has also been bandied about by mind
control investigator, Martin Cannon--in his treatise The Controllers--
as a behind the scenes player in intelligence operations related to
MK-ULTRA. The Controllers main premise is that alien abductions are
screen memories to conceal covert mind control operations employed
by Intelligence Agencies.
Bowart goes further to illustrate this so-called "dangerous free
thinking" of Einhorn's in quoting from Sarfatti's Illuminati, which
appeared on the INTERNET in '92, mentioning Einhorn frequently within
it's text..
Jack Sarfatti was a prominent member in Einhorn's inner circle of
"cosmic conspiracy" allies. In Sarfatti's Illuminati, Sarfatti
described a meeting which once took place with other illuminaries
of this "free thinking" scene in Uri Geller's hotel room. Those in
attendance consisted of Sarfatti, Uri and his mentor Andrija Puharich,
Brendan O'Regan of The Stanford Research Institute, and Einhorn. At
this time Sarfatti remembers startling "...Uri by asking him if he
could trigger a nuclear weapon by psychokinesis. I later found out
from Ron McRae (author of Mind Wars) that some of our intelligence
people were greatly concerned about that possibility. I may have
initiated that concern..." Later Sarfatti says: "Former Naval
Intelligence and Jack Anderson reporter Ron McRae told me that the
Navy had been fooled by phony data on remote viewing of Soviet
submarines because someone had leaked the actual data to phony
psychics. McRae seems to have omitted this story from his book...
Barbara Honegger said that policy decisions on the basing of MX
missiles were made by Reagan staff under the belief that remote-
viewing worked. Harold Chipman believed that it worked and told me
that he had used it successfully in his business..."

From: APOLLINAIR:
"If we had knowledge of the location of Soviet subs, then why
were we looking for them? The reality is subs are very hard
to find. In fact, one reason the Trident submarine program was
held in such high regard is that they had a survivability factor
of 1. The other two arms of the strategic nuclear systems,
bombers and missiles, always had a survivability factor of less
than 1 because they could be located."
From: SARFATTI:
"For the record, I was simply telling what Ron Mc Rae told me
and Sam Sternberg when he stayed with us in North Beach
while he was doing research for that book. Kim Burrafato
might have heard him say that also. I am not in a position

no way to locate the position of a nuclear submarine at any
moment under water if it does not wish to be located?
Therefore, when Ron Mc Rae told us that the remote-viewers
has been slipped data on locations of Soviet subs at some
point in time, that would not have been possible? Now Mc Rae
also told us that he had himself been in Naval Intelligence
before he went to work for Jack Anderson."

What I find most interesting is the interrelationship between so-called
"psychic energy", and electromagnetics. Is the transmission of psychotronic
thought projections into a subject's mind via low frequency waves the same
phenomenon that occurs with telepathy or telekinesis? Remote viewing is
basically astral projection; the transportation of one's spirit energies
through time and space...

an unseen energy that can manifest within various frequencies and spectrums?

In the early 1970's science fiction writer Philip K. Dick and spoon-bender
Uri Geller (along with his then mentor Andrija Puharich) both reported
contact with what appeared to be a non-human machine intelligence orbiting
the earth. Dick called it VALIS, Geller called his SPECTRA. Were they both
singled out for microwave communication experiments, or both just equally
insane? Further computerised contact was described by Dorothy Burdick in
her 1982 book Such Things are Known; she relates; "Laser-projected Voices
tell me, "You are doing what you want to do," but I am never free of their
broadcast stimuli which I can feel, and microwave or ultrasonic frequencies
of which I may be totally unaware. I cannot be sure that I am not really in
pain due to natural causes. I only feel unaccountable changes in mood such

"At Stanford scientists are attempting to reverse this process and are
attempting to transmit thoughts and instruction by playing previously
recorded brain waves; thus, 'You are programming yourself.' The human
brain and eye are also being studied with computers so that
photographic processes can be understood. 'We are seeing through
your eyes.'
The difficulties involved in reading these microwaves became
surmountable with the developments of SQUID (superconducting
quantum interference device) which uses niobium coils in liquid
helium. It is a circuit capable of measuring minute quantities of
magnetic field or flux, quantum by quantum. It makes possible the
measurement of the smallest magnetic fields. With modern electronic
techniques, environmental magnetic noise is almost completely
eliminated. By using a holographic interferometer (acoustic
telescope) optimized to detect weak signals it would be possible
to read the microwave print of any human brain, since brain prints
are as distinctive as fingerprints. Each individual has his own
characteristic pattern of shifts in frequency and size. Thus the
brainwaves of one individual can be distinguished from those of
another.
Electronic devices use ultrasonic waves to store and recognize
electronic signals for use at a later time, perform operations
that usually require a computer, and separate one signla from
another. They also amplify weak electrical signals using
ultrasonic waves. It is possible to do things with acoustic
surface waves that are difficult to do with simple electronic
components, i.e., recognize a signal of known form. Laser is so
sensitive that is can actually "hear" and record the electric
potentials of nerves as they are transmitted.

Andrija Puharich
Born 1918. Received medical degree from Northwestern University
in 1947. Reportedly a friend of Aldous Huxley.
1952 - had first contact with "the Nine", the highest minds in
the universe, through a medium. (Gardner, Martin, Science:
Good, Bad, and Bogus, Prometheus Books, 1981, pg 275)
Served in the Army in the early 1950's.
1952 - presented the paper "An Evaluation of the Possible Uses
of Extrasensory Perception in Psychological Warfare" at a secret
Pentagon meeting.
1953 - Lectured the Air Force on telepathy, and the staff of the
Army Chemical Center on the "Biological Foundations of Extrasensory
Perception". (McRae, Ronald, Mind Wars, St. Martin's Press, 1984, pg 79)
From 1948-58, was the director of research of the Round Table Foundation
of Glen Cove, Maine.
Was Ira Einhorn's mentor in the paranormal. Ira claimed that Puharich
"was doing LSD work for the CIA in 1954".
Set a medical lab to study psychic phenomena. Helped form the Intelectron
Corporation, which sold his hearing aids. One of Puharich's hearing aids is
called the "tooth radio", which is literally implanted inside of a person's
tooth and is used by magicians in telepathy acts.
1968 - "I was doing research in connection with the Atomic Energy Commission."
Met Einhorn. (Levy, Steven, The Unicorn's Secret, Prentice Hall Press, 1989,
pg 128-30)
"Discovered" Uri Geller and brought him to America. Puharich, in his book Uri
claims that Geller received his power from an alien force called the Hoovians.
This lost him some credibilty, and Geller began to distance himself from
Puharich. (Levy 131-2)
According to Gardner's account, in Uri, Puharich hypnotizes Geller, and Geller
reveals more of the Nine's plans. They have authority over the Hoovians, which
are the Controllers of various planetary civilizations. A city-sized spaceship
called Spectra hovers over the Earth and sends messages from the Hoovians
light-years away to their super-computers to Geller, who is their
emissary on earth. (Gardener, pg 276)
Mid-70s: ran a complex in Ossining called the Turkey Farm. In the summer
of 1975, Puharich assembled around twenty children from the ages of nine
to late teens, called "Gellerlings", or "Space Kids". Puharich trained their
psychic abilities, and claimed that they received messages from aliens. One
teen claimed that they practiced remote viewing, and some of their assignments
included political targets like the Kremlin and the White House.
(Levy, pg 165-7)
Puharich has claimed that the Space Kids are able to materialize objects
like trees, and that six of them arrived at his ranch via teleportation.
(Gardener, pg 287)
It was also during this time that Puharich did experiments on the effects
of ELF radiation on the central nervous system.
Part of Einhorn's "psychic mafia". Presented a paper on the Space kids
at the "Mind Over Matter" conference at Penn State University, late
January, 1977, organized by Einhorn. Other attendees included Christopher
Bird and Thomas Bearden.
(Levy, pg 189)
Around 1978, Puharich's Turkey Farm burnt down as a result of arson,
and Puharich disappeared. A suspect in the arson was a Space Kid who
claimed that aliens were harrassing him. Puharich implicated the CIA.
(Levy, pg 218-20)
Claims to have been the target of four assassination attempts by the CIA.
As of 1989, he lived in North Carolina.
(Levy, pg 348)
Andrijah Puharich died in 1995. See Terry Milner's series "Ratting out

Scientific argument as progressive fall back positions in a battle conducted

battle conducted Against PSI by supposedly open-minded, fair scientists. See
Dean Radin's book , THE CONSCIOUS UNIVERSE for examples.
The same tactics have been used by scientists working as hired guns for the
tobacco companies, chemical companies, nuclear power companies, fossil-fuel
companies, and drug companies. Where is PSICOP when we really need them.
The quote is taken from Jan./Feb. 1998 RESURGENCE magazine. A magazine whose
content and aesthetics is superb and should be more widely read, as it deals
with the entire range of edge activities that comprise the emerging world view
that is survival or life oriented , rather than the main stream death that is
sadly most people's deadly fare.

"The Sumerians left behind extensive writings on more than one thousand clay
tablets that described their thoughts and opinions regarding politics, economics,
law, mathematics, medicine, astronomy, and history, to name only a few areas of
their wide-ranging expertise. More to the point, on roughly 5,000 of those tablets
they detail their inexplicable knowledge about how our solar system gained its
final shape, how life came to be on Earth, and how humanity itself came to be
here.
"The scholars who translated those tablets in the latter half of the 19th century
(1850-1900) considered them so utterly implausible, if not patently absurd, they
consigned them all to what became known as the "myth pile." After that, no one
bothered to take them seriously until the 1950's, when a man named Zecharia
Sitchin began rummaging around in the ignored and forgotten myth pile, acting
on his belief that post-Stone Age "primitives" could not possibly have possessed
the collective imagination, nor gained the real-world experience, to develop such
a highly creative, technically sophisticated "mythology." Mr. Sitchin felt they
were in all likelihood telling the truth as they understood and believed it, and fifty
years of brilliant research have produced seven books that outline the truly
mind-boggling things the Sumerian tablets say (which are summarized in Part
IV).
"What they say is that everything the Sumerians knew was told to them by a race
of superior beings they called "gods," with a small "g," who, ironically, were the
original "gods" of the Old Testament. Those "gods" came to live and work on
Earth from another planet in our solar system, a planet unlike any other, with an
elliptical, 3600-year orbit that carries it from a perihelion between Mars and the
inner edge of the Asteroid Belt to an aphelion well beyond the orbit of Pluto, in
the deepest reaches of space. Ironically, modern astronomers strongly suspect
that such a large celestial body (which they call "Planet X") exists, because of its
subtle gravitational effects on the inner planets. Unfortunately, it is currently so
far removed from Earth’s orbit (just as the Sumerian tablets indicate), its
location cannot be pinpointed.
"The Sumerian tablets further contend that the "Anunnaki," the formal name for
the "gods" from the planet "Nibiru," came to live on Earth over 400,000 years
ago because they needed gold to repair their atmosphere (by a process detailed
in the book), which they had damaged during their rise to a high technology, the
same way we are damaging Earth's atmosphere on our rise to a high technology.
Because mining gold is such difficult work, at around 250,000 years ago the
Anunnaki genetically engineered humans to be their slaves (again, by a process
detailed in the book). For as improbable as that might sound, our genes do in fact
contain clear, undeniable evidence that we were created by genetic engineering
between 200,000 and 250,000 years ago, in precisely the place where the
Sumerian tablets claim the Anunnaki created us: in southern Africa!" [...]
Book of Enoch -- Chapter 7
1 It happened after the sons of men had multiplied in those days,
that daughters were born to them, elegant and beautiful.
2 And when the angels, (3) the sons of heaven, beheld them, they
became enamoured of them, saying to each other, Come, let us select
for ourselves wives from the progeny of men, and let us beget children.
(3) An Aramaic text reads "Watchers" here (J.T. Milik, Aramaic
Fragments of Qumran Cave 4 [Oxford: Clarendon Press,
1976], p. 167).
3 Then their leader Samyaza said to them; I fear that you may perhaps
be indisposed to the performance of this enterprise;
4 And that I alone shall suffer for so grievous a crime.
5 But they answered him and said; We all swear;
6 And bind ourselves by mutual execrations, that we will not change
our intention, but execute our projected undertaking.
7 Then they swore all together, and all bound themselves by mutual
execrations. Their whole number was two hundred, who descended upon
Ardis, (4) which is the top of mount Armon.
(4) Upon Ardis. Or, "in the days of Jared" (R.H. Charles, ed. and
trans., The Book of Enoch [Oxford: Clarendon Press,
1893], p. 63).
8 That mountain therefore was called Armon, because they had sworn upon
it, (5) and bound themselves by mutual execrations.
(5) Mt. Armon, or Mt. Hermon, derives its name from the Hebrew
word herem, a curse (Charles, p. 63).
9 These are the names of their chiefs: Samyaza, who was their leader,
Urakabarameel, Akibeel, Tamiel, Ramuel, Danel, Azkeel, Saraknyal, Asael,
Armers, Batraal, Anane, Zavebe, Samsaveel, Ertael, Turel, Yomyael,
Arazyal.
These were the prefects of the two hundred angels, and the remainder
were all with them. (6)
(6) The Aramaic texts preserve an earlier list of names of these
Watchers: Semihazah; Artqoph; Ramtel; Kokabel; Ramel; Danieal;
Zeqiel; Baraqel; Asael; Hermoni; Matarel; Ananel; Stawel;
Samsiel; Sahriel; Tummiel; Turiel; Yomiel; Yhaddiel
(Milik, p. 151).
10 Then they took wives, each choosing for himself; whom they began to
approach, and with whom they cohabited; teaching them sorcery,
incantations, and the dividing of roots and trees.
11 And the women conceiving brought forth giants, (7)
(7) The Greek texts vary considerably from the Ethiopic text
here.
One Greek manuscript adds to this section, "And they [the women]
bore to them [the Watchers] three races–first, the great giants.
The giants brought forth [some say "slew"] the Naphelim, and the
Naphelim brought forth [or "slew"] the Elioud. And they existed,
increasing in power according to their greatness." See the
account in the Book of Jubilees.
12 Whose stature was each three hundred cubits. These devoured all
which the labor of men produced; until it became impossible to
feed them;
13 When they turned themselves against men, in order to devour them;
14 And began to injure birds, beasts, reptiles, and fishes, to eat
their flesh one after another, (8) and to drink their blood.
(8) Their flesh one after another. Or, "one another’s flesh."
R.H. Charles notes that this phrase may refer to the destruction
of one class of giants by another (Charles, p. 65).
15 Then the earth reproved the unrighteous.

This is a dead end experiment in "parallel-universe-post-
quantum-back-action" that never really got off the ground.
It all goes back to an ancient beginning to this most recent
of weekends, whereupon I borrowed my "unstuck-in-time"
friend's timeship, that is itself borrowed from "The Greater
Mystery". (Don't ask).
The timeship is about "52' feet in diameter and gun metal
grey on the outside with no door." According to my friend:
in "'barrier systems' it is surrounded by a drone computer
ship about 1 1/2 miles long." I haven't the slightest idea
what that means, so I just had to take it on faith that the
thing would navigate thru the various "Light-Mach jumps"
intact. My strange friend says that we live in a 23 Light
Mach system, but to access other dimensions all one has to
do is increase or decrease one's own resonant spin. Allegedly,
this ship does all that automatically, (or so I was told).
OKAYyyy....
Anyway, I ended up in 200 BC! Weird. Had to ask directions
of this really old, grey, long-haired, desert-magus-madman
type of character. Said his name was "Enoch". The computer
had this on him:
"Very multifaceted, crystaline and hypercubic individual:
'Enoch', so-called 'seventh master of the world', mythic
equivalent of Phoenician Cadmus, Greek Hermes, Egyptian
Thoth, Quetzalcoatl of Mesoamerican myth..."
Enoch is thought to have penned the Kabbalah, Tarot and,
natch' the "Book of Enoch", wherein is described a supposed
account of his visit to the Dark Palace* (see below).
So, great! I figured this would be a good guy to get me out
of there, especially when he was describing all these cold
fires, black flames and other weird stuff from his apocalyptic
visions that he just kept rambling on and on about; I sorta
inferred that he was talking about little light-emitting diodes
and electronic devices - things not in his usual frame of
reference, which he would have to approximate in his wacked-out
scholar's, desert-nomadic, socialized semantics way.
Sure, I could flow with that.
Anyway, my big time stupid error was in bringing him back
with me. The old dude is VERY senile, and he completely freaked
out over the entire indoor plumbing system. You would not
believe it; especially the bathroom! When he found out that we
urinate and defecate in water wells, he lost it.
He thinks he's in Hell.
It's understandable. Here's a guy who has spent his entire life
in the desert -- you just don't piss in the water supply, ok?
They tend to cut your head off for stuff like that.
Anyway, his senility was too much for me, so I left him in the
timeship which I returned to my odd friend so he can deal with
him. That was yesterday. I won't even tell you about the alchemist.
(At least I got a lotta sun and exercise)
The Book of Enoch
Composit pseudepigraphic work, sometimes called
1st Enoch (unlike the 2nd -- Slavonic -- Enoch),
completely preserved only in Ethiopic (Ge`ez).
There are also two extensive fragments of the texts
in Greek found in Akhmim in 1886. In addition
several hundreds of Aramaic fragments were
discovered in Cave IV in Qumran in 1952.
This so called Book of Enoch is divisible into five
originally separate portions:
Book I (so called The Book of Watchers) Chapters 1 - 36
Introduction; contemplation of the nature;
descent of two hundreds angels to Earth --
they took human women for their wives,
begot children (giants), led mankind
astray but finally were destroyed by God;
Enoch's journeys in Heavens, Earth and
Underworld.
This may be the most ancient part of
the collection. Dated back to the 3rd
century B.C.
Book II (The Book of Parables) Chapters 37 - 71
Description of the days of the Last Judgement;
journey to Heaven; meeting with the Chosen One;
uncovering of all heavenly mysteries.
Dating of the book varies from the 1st half of the first century
B.C. to the end of the first century A.D.
Book III (The Astronomical Book) Chapters 72 - 82
Description of revolution of heavenly bodies that showed Uriel the
angel to Enoch.
Qumran fragments of this text are dated to the end of the 3rd of the
beginning of the 2nd century B.C. Existence of older Hebrew text is
possible but unsure.
Book IV (The Book of Dreams) Chapters 83 - 90
Vision of destruction of Earth; vision of world history from Adam
to the first days of heavenly Kingdom -- cattle, sheep and other
animals represent main characters and their features.
Aramaic fragments from Qumran corresponding to this texts are dated
to the third quarter of the 2nd century B.C.
Book V (The Epistle of Enoch) Chapters 91 - 108
Testament of Enoch; chapter 93:1 - 14 and
91:12 - 17 respectively -- so called
Apocalypse of the Ten Weeks describing
world history from the beginning the Last
Judgement and creation of new heavens.
Dated to the half of the 1st century BC.
It is not clear when exactly and from which sources
the Ethiopic translation was created. Most probably
both Aramaic and Greek versions were used;
influence (or even existence) of some Hebrew
vorlage was discussed but is still unclear.
* Meanwhile, in another realm of the old apocalyptic's
desert fried cranium:
"And I went in until I drew nigh to a wall which
is built of crystals and surrounded by tongues of fire,
and it began to affright me. And I went into the tongues
of fire and drew nigh to a large house which was built
of crystal.
The walls of the house were like a tesselated floor of
crystals, and its groundwork was of crystal.
Its ceiling was like the path of the stars and the
lightenings, and between them were fiery Cherubim
amidst a background of water. A blazing fire surrounded
the walls, and its portals were covered with fire.
And I entered into that house, and it was as hot as
fire yet as cold as ice. There were no delights of
life therein. Fear covered me, and trembling gat hold
of me. And I quaked and trembled and fell down upon
my face.
[Enoch's further adventures continue, following his visit
to the Dark Palace]:
...From thence I went to another place to the west of
the Earth. And I saw a burning fire which ran without
resting, and paused not from its course day or night
but blazed without respite. And I asked, saying, "What
is this flame which burns unceasingly?" Then Raguel,
one of the holy Angels who was with me, said, "This
is the Dark Fire in the West which persecutes all the
luminaries of Heaven."
Later that same day, while wandering around some foothills,
a lost timeship stops to ask directions back to the late
20th century. Enoch, dumbfounded, wets himself, but at least
manages to point a shaky finger in the correct, general vicinity.
Quicker than a blink, the local universe shrinks to a dot,
disappears and expands elsewhen. Uncomfortably humid, Enoch
thinks up a cool new book idea.

Enoch, Book of :
---<snip>---
...
there were two hundred who descended on Mount Armon, and
it was from this time that the mountain received its designation,
which signifies Mount of the Oath. Hereinafter follow the names
of those angelic leaders who descended with this object: Samayasa,
chief among all, Urakabrameel, Azibeel, Tamiel, Ramuel, Danel,
Azkeel, Sarakuyal, Asael, Armers, Batraal. They took wives with
whom they had intercourse, to whom also they taught Magic, the art
of enchantment and the diverse properties of roots and trees.
Amazarac gave instruction in all secrets of sorcerers; Barakaial was
the master of those who study the stars; Akibeel manifested signs;
and Azaradel thaught the motions of the moon."
In this account we see a description of the profanation of
mysteries.
The fallen angels exposed their occult and heaven-born wisdom to
earthly women, whereby it was profaned, and brute force taking
advantage of the profanation of divine law, reigned supreme. Only a
deluge could wipe out the stain of the enormity, and pave the way
for a restitution of the balance between the human and the divine,
which had been disturbed by these unlawful revelations. (1)

ENOCH CHAP. XVI. (Laurence transliteration)
1. And as to the death of the giants, wheresoever their spirits
depart from their bodies, let their flesh, that which is perish-
able, be without judgment. Thus shall they perish, until the
day of the great consummation of the great world. A destruction
shall take place of the Watchers and the impious.
2. And now to the Watchers, who have sent thee to pray for them, who
in the beginning were in heaven,
3. Say, In heaven have you been; secret things, however, have not
been manifested to you; yet have you known a reprobated mystery.
4. And this you have related to women in the hardness of your heart,
and by that mystery have women and mankind multiplied evils upon
the earth.
5. Say to them, Never therefore shall you obtain peace.
"A reprobated mystery."
Think about it.
======================
http://www.takeitbyforce.com/1enoch01-60.htm#Chapter16
"...a reprobated mystery..."
Indeed, and the "reprobated mystery" that the Watcher's are
being so severely disciplined for, in part, includes: "...Magic,
the art of enchantment and the diverse properties of roots
and trees... secrets of sorcerers; ... study [of] the stars;
....manifested signs; and motions of the moon..."
Presumably these 'condemned' arts, crafts, and sorceries
would not have manifested within the range of human being's
capabilities were it not for an outside intervention into the
matter - or superimposition over matter.
And these disclosed "mysteries" are further defined to Enoch
as not even being the REAL mysteries or "secrets". Enoch, as
"mouthpiece" (or "speaker") is instructed to go among the
Watchers, and: "Say, 'In heaven have you been; secret things,
however, have not been manifested to you; yet have you
known a reprobated mystery'."
Curiouser and curiouser:
"Secret things, however, have not been manifested to you"
All metaphorical, of course, but one can't help but be tickled
by Raymond Fowler's book, The Watchers, and other literal,
contemporary interpretations... of..... uhhh..... whatever
Enoch was... "into".
Further sections of the Book of Enoch, chpt. 15-20, are also
interesting when contemplated from several perspectives
simultaneously:

http://www.takeitbyforce.com/1enoch01-60.htm#Chapter17
Chapter 17
1 They raised me up into a certain place, where there was (28)
the appearance of a burning fire; and when they pleased they
assumed the likeness of men.
(28) Where there was. Or, "where they [the angels] were like"
(Knibb, p. 103).
2 They carried me to a lofty spot, to a mountain, the top of
which reach to heaven.
3 And I beheld the receptacles of light and of thunder at the
extremities of the place, where it was deepest. There was a
bow of fire, and arrows in their quiver, a sword of fire, and
every species of lightning.
4 Then they elevated me to a babbling stream, (29) and to
a fire in the west, which received all the setting of the sun.
I came to a river of fire, which flowed like water, and emptied
itself into the great sea westwards.
(29) To a babbling stream. Literally, "to water of life,
which spoke" (Laurence, p. 23).
5 I saw every large river, until I arrived at the great
darkness. I went to where all of flesh migrate; and I
beheld the mountains of the gloom which constitutes
winter, and the place from which issues the water in
every abyss.
6 I saw also the mouths of all the rivers in the world,
and the mouths of the deep.
Chapter 18
1 I then surveyed the receptacles of all the winds,
perceiving that they contributed to adorn the whole
creation, and to preserve the foundation of the earth.
2 I surveyed the stone which supports the corners of
the earth.
3 I also beheld the four winds, which bear up the
earth, and the firmament of heaven.
4 And I beheld the winds occupying the exalted sky.
5 Arising in the midst of heaven and of earth, and
constituting the pillars of heaven.
6 I saw the winds which turn the sky, which cause the
orb of the sun and of all the stars to set; and over the
earth I saw the winds which support the clouds.
7 I saw the path of the angels.
8 I perceived at the extremity of the earth the
firmament of heaven above it. Then I passed
on towards the south;
9 Where burnt, both by day and night, six mountains
formed of glorious stones; three towards the east, and
three towards the south.
10 Those which were towards the east were of a
variegated stone; one of which was of margarite, and
another of antimony. Those towards the south were of
a red stone. The middle one reached to heaven like the
throne of God; a throne composed of alabaster, the top
of which was of sapphire. I saw, too, a blazing fire
hanging over all the mountains.
11 And there I saw a place on the other side of an
extended territory, where waters were collected.
12 I likewise beheld terrestrial fountains, deep in the
fiery columns of heaven.
13 And in the columns of heaven I beheld fires, which
descended without number, but neither on high, nor into
the deep. Over these fountains also I perceived a place
which had neither the firmament of heaven above it, nor
the solid ground underneath it; neither was there water
above it; nor anything on wing; but the spot was desolate.
14 And there I beheld seven stars, like great blazing
mountains, and like spirits entreating me.
15 Then the angel said, This place, until the consummation
of heaven and earth, will be the prison of the stars, and
the host of heaven.
16 The stars which roll over fire are those which
transgressed the commandment of God before their time
arrived; for they came not in their proper season.
Therefore was He offended with them, and bound them,
until the period of the consummation of their crimes
in the secret year.
Chapter 19
1 Then Uriel said, Here the angels, who cohabited with women,
appointed their leaders;
2 And being numerous in appearance (30) made men profane,
and caused them to err; so that they sacrificed to devils
as to gods. For in the great day there shall be a judgment,
with which they shall be judged, until they are consumed;
and their wives also shall be judged, who led astray the
angels of heaven that they might salute them.
(30) Being numerous in appearance. Or, "assuming
many forms" (Knibb, p. 106).
3 And I, Enoch, I alone saw the likeness of the end of all
things. Nor did any human being see it, as I saw it.
Chapter 20
1 These are the names of the angels who watch.
2 Uriel, one of the holy angels, who presides over clamor
and terror.
3 Raphael, one of the holy angels, who presides over the
spirits of men.
4 Raguel, one of the holy angels, who inflicts punishment
on the world and the luminaries.
5 Michael, one of the holy angels, who, presiding over
human virtue, commands the nations.
6 Sarakiel, one of the holy angels, who presides over the
spirits of the children of men that transgress.
7 Gabriel, one of the holy angels, who presides over Ikisat,
(31) over paradise, and over the cherubim.
(31) Ikisat. The serpents (Charles, p. 92; Knibb, p. 107).

"Secret things, however, have not been manifested to you"
Hmmm...
So, that's the question: What are the "secret things"?
[an embarrassment of answers, stem and stern]
>5 But they answered him and said; We all swear;
>
>6 And bind ourselves by mutual execrations, that we will not change
>our intention, but execute our projected undertaking.
Blue, the crux is this:
"I wasn't crying about mothers," [Peter] said rather indignantly. "I was
crying because I can't get my shadow to stick on. Besides, I wasn't
crying."
All great magicians gather shadows like lanterns gather moths. The trick
is how we greet the dear creatures.
Mahatma, I salute thee!
Mahatma Oozing Pus sends his/her/its love, and would have me acknowledge your
exalted put-down and ironic assist to your reluctant psuedo-student, Blue, with a
question: Should Mahatma Oozing Pus answer your generous ad hominem by calling
you "gameboy" or stoop to such loathsome depths as to inquire if your wisdom was
wrought from endless joystick mangling? Or should he/she/it inquire if you are Blue's
shadow, he yours, both of you Emperor Norton II's, or all 3 of you Thelemites the
shadow of the dead Tinker Bell himself, big Al? (I'm betting that Mahatma Oozing Pus
won't actually debase him/her/itself so by asking such a petty question.)
Meanwhile, way back in Persia:
I sent my Soul through the Invisible,
Some letter of that After-life to spell:
And by and by my soul return'd to me,
And answer'd "I Myself am Heav'n and Hell."
Omar Khayyam
"This is the awe-inspiring universe of magic: There are no
atoms, only waves and motions all around. Here, you discard
all belief in barriers to understanding. You put aside
understanding itself. This universe cannot be seen, cannot
be heard, cannot be detected in any way by fixed perceptions.
It is the ultimate void where no preordained screens
occur upon which forms may be projected. You have only
one awareness here - the screen of the magi: Imagination!
Here, you learn what it is to be human. You are a creator
of order, of beautiful shapes and systems, an organizer of
chaos."
Frank Herbert

>question: Should Mahatma Oozing Pus answer your generous ad hominem by calling
>you "gameboy" or stoop to such loathsome depths as to inquire if your wisdom was
>wrought from endless joystick mangling?
Oh, I should think so. Without such "adhom" the world would have run down
long ago. Besides, all such "wisdom" is wrought from joystick-wrangling,
that is to say narcissistic wankwork. That's the so-called lofty
difference between "magicians" (1) and "mundanes" (0) -- the mundane gets
out more, has a life, is too busy doing to talk about it.
With that in mind (not to mention the fact that in Latin, the words for
"game," "joke" and "school" were the same), "gameboy" would actually be a
mark of sly reward.
Since we're here and it's now, I'm strictly Blue's shadow -- or
punctuation, if you will. The viol to his trumpet.
Let's talk about shadows. I like getting caught up in the web of
obligations, regrets and loves that the Mahatma may refer to as "dharma";
the web in which we are assigned our roles as shadows, sidekicks,
straightmen and general supporting players to each other's starring
roles. "Every man and every woman is a star," nu? And every man and every
woman is the shadow that supports a star.
[Obaav -- so also the grey to us]
If the soul is a circlet of smoked glass, it is mirrored on one side and
windowed on the other (much like, in fact, the eyes, which both reflect
and absorb light).
When and how are these shadowing roles assigned? Perhaps in a conclave
similar to the one in Enoch, to which you referred. Let us take an oath,
and face the game (...) of life together. Let us share the burden of the
ongoing creation.
The perceptive onlooker will note that "great magicians" often refuse this
oath and this burden, instead staying inside to practice with their
joysticks. For these, the dance with shadows is seen as an onslaught of
distractions, go away mom I'm almost on the next level. This is the
exalted putdown, the deflating needle.
Meanwhile, in other contexts, I'm a boy who runs with a fast crowd to look
cool. As for Thelemarianism, I have to confess not knowing precisely what
you are talking about.
Thank you for preserving the Mahatma's austerity, and good luck during
diluvian years, o Methuselah. Wear your Wellingtons.
Each Magister must transcend the plane of myths. It is too much to
expect that an innocent or a Devadatta should do so.

One fine weekend, the monk Joshu-Wa went on a picnic with a group of
his disciples in the park at Veluvana. After pigging out on a fine
selection of curries, deli meats, and appropriate accompaniments, they
fell into a comfy state of semi-somnolent contemplation. Suddenly, the
peace of the moment was broken by the whining voice of the monk's
newest disciple:
"Master, what is enlightenment?"
The monk reached over and grabbed one of the containers from their
repast. (Fortunately it was within reach, for he could not get up.) He
held it up before the eyes of the impertinent disciple.
"A pickle jar!???" he whined. "Enlightenment is a pickle jar?"
Said Joshu-Wa: "The vessel is empty, yet you still insist on reading
the label."

Commentary by Hut-sut Song:
Joshu-Wa treated this disciple with the gentleness of a mother
powdering her infant's bottom; barfing all over him would have given
the same lesson, and perhaps have been more effective.
I try to make everyone's day just a little bit more surreal.

Question:
If the basic, innate essence of the individual being worked
on has already evolved beyond the simple information-level
of "putting ideas into a person's mind", then the nature of
the "subtle reprogramming" - whether it be "unscrupulous",
crapulous, or "alien" (to consensus reality) - shouldn't matter
that much to the recipient (victim), since the recipient/victim
has an established core of awareness from which to view the
attempted manipulations, regardless of their sublety. True?
Then, if the manipulator recognized the futility in a successful
reprogramming, they would be left with what options? To abandon?
To consolidate? To destroy? To surrender? _________________?

Hmmm.... depends on the being doing the "programming".
There are levels and levels to the magickal universe, and being
relatively immune from influence on one level doesn't say anything
about others. There is no point short of total withdrawal from the
universe where one is _completely_ immune from influences of many
different kinds. To think otherwise is to indulge in the Setian
Fallacy -- the belief in an "isolate intelligence" which can perceive
the universe without being influenced or changed by it.
But on a practical level, one can sometimes approximate to that state.
Beings who attempt to manipulate for malevolent purposes are usually
of a relatively low level, and usually don't bother those who show
themselves capable of resisting. There is no profit in it, from their
viewpoint, and too much danger of being changed themselves by the
contact.
Josh
Now *that* is interesting to me... when I flipped out a few years
back, I felt that I was being tortured/taught/communicated with by
some group on entities who called themselves, "The Zebra Coalition"...
My idea about this group, though, was that it was composed of
entities which were making use of the same means for different
ends- ie, some were "white" and some were "black"... and that they'd
realized that they could accomplish more by working together... and
so in a de-facto kind of way, they did.
Lisa
>Hmmm.... depends on the being doing the "programming".
I think Thelemites are much cooler than the Greys or the Reptoids.
Don't you?

Then what thoughts are truly our own? Who populates our symbol tables
and who codes the algorithms to manipulate these symbols -- so
cleverly providing us with the Setian illusion of independent thought,
while hidden interrupts and background taskings churn on incessantly
in the nether regions of our noggins, hidden from our curious gaze?
I mean, it all gets pretty damn complex after awhile, what with all
the layers upon layers upon layers, etc.

So are you telling us that we can in fact change the very Martians
themselves; that they are in just as much danger of being subtly
infected by our memes as we are by theirs? This presents some
interesting potentialities indeed, for just as Jeff Goldblum infected
the Alien Mothership with his clever 680x0 computer virus last July
4th, so we can similarly modify The Hive via subtle memetic infections
(i.e. psyops) of our own devising.
I'll put some of our best analysts and military strategists on this
immediately.

Yes. The Zebra Coalition. The ZC was an archaic, archetypal
outfit, comprising two ancient factions, notably: the ageless
intelligence of the universe separatists from Alpha Draconis
(Black Magicians, left Hand Path techies, etc.) on the one side;
and the white-lighters from Sirius B's mythical kingdom lagrange-
platform, which is responsible for holophase transmissions
throughout earth's early humanoid history spawning the pagan,
high-priestess ideologies that later were corrupted into the
JudeoChristianIslamic Y chromosome franchises interlacing Toaist
Buddhist self-negation exercises - or the white, off-white,
yellow school transmutations - comprising the other side. Hence
the oft-heard term of yesteryear: the "'Jaundiced' Zebra
Coalition", which pretty much confused things all around.
The ZC had its golden age just prior to the corpus collosum's
integration of the bifurcated bicameral brain functions. [Approx:
Y4K B.C.E.] You must have been in a sensitive receptive mode,
accidentally picking up a gravitationally lensed relay bounce from
a very old wayward splinter wave. (Kinda like a neutrino knocking
a rung on your DNA ladder causing a slight randomization potential
shift.)
Eventual neurotransmitter specialization changed the synaptic
gap resonances, thereby effectively making the ZC obsolete, which,
as we all know, led to the grey mutation. As the grey mutation
rapidly approaches its own obsolescence, earth humanoid behaviors
begin opening up to autonomous relay systems originating from
within, vis-a'-vis, cybernetics, augmented genetic programming and
heightened serendipity, also known as the instantaneous karmic
wraparound effect, or the IKWE. In short, you've probably been
experiencing a gradual increase in intelligence and wisdom lately,
and you can't fully account for it by recent life processes alone.
Groove with it, Lisa, and all will be well.
And hers me tinkin that no one had made acid like that since the sixties.

Aliens Tend to Avoid the More Intelligent Human
The concern is that the humans are not being informed participants;
they are being forced participants into this abduction implant
operation. This Awareness wishes entities to understand that you
are not likely to be implanted or abducted if your intelligence is
more highly complex than the average person because the aliens do
not like to deal with highly intelligent people in general,
although they quite recently abducted some intelligent people for
experimental purposes to determine how they can best control these
entities in a future scenario.
This Awareness indicates that for the most part they prefer
abducting entities who are more easily controlled mentally and
who can be persuaded to see them as deities or as God's angels,
which many entities accept readily. This Awareness indicates
that such entities are easier to control. The complex entity,
the entity whose mind is skeptical, whose mind is questioning,
whose mind thinks more complex concepts is not as easy to
persuade and therefore, these entities try to avoid such entities.
What Aliens Look for in People to Abduct
The aliens, in seeking to locate a potential abductee, may fly
over an area using a ray that reads the vibrations of an entity
to determine whether this entity would be compliant to their
domination, or whether the entity would object to their domination
and this can have an influence on whether the entity is accepted
or rejected for abduction.
This Awareness indicates of course there are also other factors
such as whether the entity in previous lifetimes has had some
contract with them, or is in agreement with being abducted from
a subconscious level.
Most agreements with aliens are on a subconscious level and reach
back into previous lifetime agreements. This Awareness indicates
that entities who wrap themselves or their loved ones in White
Light are not normally targets for abduction but just the fact
that an entity claims Christianity does not exclude them from
being abducted.
"Pray to the Lord and Ask for Protection!"
If the entity, however in claiming Christianity or a spiritual
doctrine, actually is convincing to the aliens, and holds that
doctrine in high esteem, the aliens tend to back off and allow
the entity freedom.
This Awareness indicates an example being a 5-year-old boy recently
abducted by aliens, given an implant who was told by his mother
that if they come again: "Pray to the Lord and ask for protection!"
This Awareness indicates the aliens coming to this entity, found
him, and he began to pray the Lord's Prayer. They asked him to
stop. He told them: "You said you were Christians, so why don't
we pray to Christ together?" The aliens then agreed and the boy
began praying the Lord's Prayer again. The aliens began mumbling
along with him, but quickly stopped, then asked him to stop.
The boy again stated: "But we are praying to God. We are praying
the Lord's Prayer. As Christians, this is good for us. We should
pray together!" And he began again for the third time, the Lord's
Prayer.
During this third prayer, the aliens simply faded away and left.
This Awareness indicates that this occurred in the area of Clark
County, and the entity discovered the power of his own prayer.
This Awareness indicates that likewise, there have been others
who claimed to be Christians, but who did not demonstrate this
clearly to the aliens and were therefore not considered as not
being true to their God.
The aliens, of course, are not in the same framework and do not
hold Christianity as a valid religion, but they do see when an
entity has a strong faith that cannot be shaken, and they want
entities who can be bent to worship them so that they can be more
easily controlled. This is in reference to the Zeta Reticuli Grey
types. This Awareness indicates that these entities being singled
out, because they are the most notorious for abduction and
implanting of humans at this time.

call them. And I bad them to be packing out of the place.

The truth is, that as its intimates advance, their power and knowledge
becomes enormously greater; but such progress is not a mark of general
growth, as it is in the case of the White Brotherhood; it is like a
cancer, which indeed grows apace, but at the expense of the man upon
which it feeds, and will destroy both him and itself in the long run.
The process may be slow; it may extend over a series of incarnations;
but it is sure enough. The analogy of the cancer is a close one; for
the man knows his doom, suffers continual torture; but to this is
added the horrible delusion that if only the disease can be induced to
advance far enough, all is saved. Thus he hugs the fearful growth,
cherishes it as his one dearest possession, stimulates it by every
means in his power. Yet all the time he nurses in his heart an
agonizing certainty that this is the way of death."

Oh, I suppose. But for me it's more an astrological thing --
Thelemites tend to be fire signs, which I find compatible and
entertaining. The Grays and Reptoids all seem to have been born under
the sign labeled "Bargain Bin".

The boundary between "self" and "other" is more arbitrary than people
like to think; even on the "scientific", physical level "you" extend
into your environment far past the limits of your skin. If you look at
all the ways in which you interact with the universe, on all levels,
you find that you are really just a semi-autonomous sub-complex of
events, rather than a distinct entity.
This no doubt upsets those who insist on thinking of themselves as
distinct entities.

I love it when you wax poetic. Mostly it's accidental; or unintended
consequences -- which nearly always outnumber intended consequences.

Yeah. Fun, isn't it?
Thus saith the Enochian God:
MPH
(Sagittarius)
"Fabulous filigrees are wrapped about My towers by the ever-changing
movements that My Will evokes. Filigree upon filigree; filigree within
filigree; always similar, never identical, they blend the large
movements with the small, the small with the infinitesimal, until
scale is lost and no-one knows where ends and beginnings arise."
ARSL
(Scorpio)
"From the blending of the scales does chance arise, the possibility of
change and unexpectedness within the pattern of My Will. The seeds of
new motions spontaneously arise; and none, not even I, know when and
where they will appear."
GAIOL
(Libra)
"Yet My towers are one, balanced in the light and in the darkness;
that which arises shall always act within the bounds set by My Will."

Well, I was thinking more of the Abramelin demons, who have been
giving me some small irritations lately; I had to eat one of them
before they would go away.
But yes, every contact goes in both directions; and sometimes even an
insignificant creature can bring down the high and mighty; consider
the rhinovirii, for instance. If one is in contact with a real being
(and not just a sub-system of one's own mind) then that being is as
susceptible to change as is the contactee. In fact, since awareness is
change, they can't avoid it.

Definitely.

Yeah, but what about antitrust laws? That sounds like something

Well... you know, I tried that. Got myself an old tubeless,
patched a puncture, grabbed my backpack with jug of water
and dye, and took a drive to Imperial Gateway Valley.
Parked the car, slung tire over my shoulder with backpack,
and proceeded to hike up dirt trail to a natural duck pond.
After a couple miles (and passing a few nouveau-riche
locals with exasperated expressions) I arrived at the duck
pond. Fortunately, no one was around and I could run my
tests and experiments in peace.
Walking up an easy slope above the pond, I pour some water
into the inner tire, add bright yellow dye (to offset the
dark green of the pond) and release the tire.
The first attempt, the tire it fell over before hitting
the pond. Removing the big stupid rock, I try again (good
thing I brought plenty of water and dye). Okay... we're in
business this time. The tire quickly rolls into the pond
spilling the dye with it. So, cool, a bit of yellow colour
quickly dissipates into the water. Hmmm, maybe I should have
used oil-based dye?
Anyway, I keep trying this over and over, when a freaking
ranger shows up. (Obviously a Reptiloid juvenile delinquent
high on human adrenaline 'disguised' as a ranger). I have never
seen a ranger here before.
Must've been alerted by those Luddites I passed. Shewsh!!
I have to talk really fast, explaining that I'm a scientist from the
local Lab testing out a hunch and further BS.
The Ranger (Reptiloid bastard) writes me a ticket anyway. So, what
the hell was your point, dude?!!

Someone once noted:
"Abramelin squares can indeed be hazardous to those who don't
take the proper precautions, I've had minor difficulties with them
under less than controlled circumstances. A friend of mine
borrowed Abramelin once and made one of the squares to bring
himself money. He was hit twice in one week by cars while walking
and riding his bike in the same parking lot. Last time I saw him he
still limped and had never regained full use of his right arm (he was
left handed fortunately) but he did receive over $70,000 from
insurance companies."
While elsewhere, the following discourse was recorded:
"I asked Grady McMurtry if Aleister Crowley had ever said anything
to him implying the extraterrestrial theory which Kenneth Grant,
Outer Head of another Ordo Templi Orientis, implies in his accounts
of Crowley's contacts with Higher Intelligences."
"Some of the things Aleister said to me," Grady replied
carefully, "could be interpreted as hints pointing that way." He
went on to quote Crowley's aphorisms about various of the
standard entities contacted by Magick. The Abramelin spirits,
for instance, need to be watched carefully. "They bite," Aleister
explained in his best deadpan am-I-kidding-or-not? style. The
Enochian "angels," on the other hand, don't always have to be
summoned. "When you're ready, they come for you," Aleister
said flatly.

Karl's Karma

Aleister Crowley died in 1947 e.v. Sometime in 1948 or '49 e.v.
Germer received three enormous packing crates from England.
It was the Crowley library. Germer was living in an apartment in
New York City at the time and decided he needed larger quarters
to house the library. That is when he moved to Hampton, N.J. It is
also when he started to go crazy. He and his wife, Sascha, were
absolutely convinced that their house was bugged by the FBI, and
used to "talk" to each other by passing notes back and forth
so that their conversations could not be recorded. Now Karl Germer
was a very bright guy. Hearing him give an extemporaneous lecture
on the influence of Napoleon on European nationalism could be a
very enlightening experience. But I didn't find out how bright he was
until I was serving in the Korean War. The saying there was that the
secret of long life for a 2nd Lt. of Infantry was to survive the
patrols long enough to inherit the Heavy Weapons section. Once
you are behind the mortars and machine guns it is a hell of a lot
harder to get to you, and Karl Germer rose from the ranks in the
Kaiser's Imperial Army of War I to be a Major of Machine Gunners
on the Eastern Front. So how to account for his craziness? Aleister
Crowley was the greatest magician who has walked this earth since
the time of the Pyramids. He would leave a legacy. There were
things in that library that would drive anyone crazy. {3}
In 1969 e.v. Putnam published a paperback of Justine Glass titled
"They Foresaw the Future." I have the old graduate student habit
of checking the table of contents and the index -- sure enough, on
page 182 there is a story about a collection of the Magus' formulas
that had been bought by the wrong person, who immediately developed
an obscure disease and had to get rid of them to save his life.
Suddenly I flashed. Of course. It was something I had forgotten for
30 years. You will remember how on page 18 of Vol. I, No. 4 of this
NEWSLETTER, I said that Crowley's finger wagging lecture was "one
of the only two times he ever got really pissed with me."
This was the second time. It happened in much the same way. We
had been playing chess and rapping. He disappears into the kitchen
to brew up some tea. Again, there I am, big eyes all over the place.
The black-out shades were on the window over on the left -- light
security against the German bombers patrolling upstairs. His main
library consisted of two rows of books under the window. I went over
to take a look. One book pulled my attention (The old "Poison apple"
trip: "Take me!") -- which was strange because it had no title on the
spine. It was black, oblong and rather thick. So I picked it up and
went back to sit down and look. I opened it. But what kind of book
was this? There was no printing. Rather there were, as best memory
serves, 4 squares across and 6 squares down. The squares were
matted. Each square had a very large, single Enochian letter in it.
There was something funny about it. They were very black, and very
perfect; but they looked much too big to have been printed. This was
a curiosity. I wondered, so I started to reach out with my right
forefinger to feel one of them to see if maybe they had been
painted-on -- when Crowley came out of the kitchen with the tea tray,
saw what I was about to do, and yelled at me -- and I do mean he
yelled at the top of his voice; "DON'T TOUCH THAT!" I looked up
in considerable surprise, closed the book rather gently and handed
it back to him. He said, quietly, "You have no idea what forces you
could have set in motion!" It was the only explanation he ever
offered, and the incident was never mentioned again.
Now we come back to "They Foresaw the Future." When I read this,
and remembered the incident, I wrote to Frater V.I.,<<WEH NOTE:
This would be Gerald Yorke, also one of the several individuals
using "Frater N.">> probably the most knowledgeable person in
the world on the subject, and asked him about it. In a letter dated
14 March 1970, in the ARchives of the Caliph, he wrote back as
follows: "The books at 93 Jermyn Street were not left behind when
A.C. gave up tenancy. I myself after his death sent to Karl Germer
what you call Enochian tablets, but which were in fact charged
Abramelin squares written in Enochian. If the Solar Lodge crowd
did in fact beat up Sascha Germer and steal the archives, which
they seem to have done, they will in time regret it. They are not to
be trifled with."
Tread carefully, dear Brother.
My very best to you;
-Brother Blue
Geez, Blue. This awareness? Har-de-Har-Har.

Ave Cap'n,
We often mock that which we do not yet understand -- a foible of the
human ego.
The Universe is the Practical Joke of the General
at the Expense of the Particular,
quoth Frater Caeruleus, and laughed.
But those disciples nearest to him wept,
seeing the Universal Sorrow.
Those next to them laughed, seeing the Universal Joke.
Below these certain disciples wept.
Then certain laughed.
Others next wept.
Others next laughed.
Next others wept.
Next others laughed.
Last came those that wept because they could not see the Joke,
and those that laughed lest they should be thought
not to see the Joke,
and thought it safe to act like Frater Caeruleus.
But though Frater Caeruleus laughed openly,
he also at the same time wept secretly;
and in himself he neither laughed nor wept.
Nor did he mean what he said.
