Acvila Air (WZ/Bucharest Baneasa) will add an ex-STA Trans African Airlines
DC-9-30 to its fleet.
Ada Air (ZY/Tirana) has returned the ATR 42-300 it had wet-leased from White
Eagle Aviation (WEA/Warsaw). It is now using an Albatros Airways (4H/Tirana)
for its Tirana-Bari route.
Adria Airways (JP/Ljubljana) is reportedly considering adding two EMB-120s
to its fleet for regional routes.
Aegean Airlines (A3/Athens) has leased an ex-Air Atlanta Iceland
(CC/Reykjavik Keflavik) B737-400.
Aer Lingus (EI/Dublin) is reportedly planning to order four additional
A330s.
Aeroflot (SU/Moscow Sheremetyevo) is expected to place an order with Boeing
with more than 20 B787 aircraft later this year. It is also planning to
launch new routes from Moscow Sheremetyevo to Krasnoyarsk and
Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. Aeroflot is reportedly considering taking over regional
carrier Perm Airlines (P9/Perm).
Aeroline (7E/Westerland) will launch four times weekly Cessna 404 service
between Kiel and Berlin Tempelhof on May 1.
Aigle Azur (ZI/Paris Orly) has launched four times weekly service from Paris
CDG to Marrakech and twice weekly service from Paris CDG to Oujda using
A321-200s in early December.
Air Atlanta Iceland (CC/Reykjavik Keflavik) has placed an additional order
for four more B777-200ER freighters. It has also wet-leased an A300-600R to
Dolphin Air (ZD/Sharjah). Air Atlanta's parent Avion Group has purchased
assets from bankrupt charter carrier Aero Flight and is planning to set-up a
charter carrier in Germany using two A320-200s.
Air Baltic (BT/Riga) has announced additional new routes for the summer
timetable:
Riga-Baku: 2x weekly B737-500 service starting on May 3
Riga-Kaliningrad: 4x weekly Fokker 50 service starting on March 27
Riga-Warsaw: 6x weekly Fokker 50 service starting on March 27
Vilnius-Warsaw: daily Fokker 50 service starting on March 27
Air Berlin (AB/Berlin Tegel) and dba (DI/Munich) are considering
intensifying their cooperation and starting codeshare flights on several
routes later this year.
Air Europa (UX/Palma de Mallorca) has given up its Barcelona/Madrid-Shanghai
Pu Dong routes. It has signed a codeshare agreement with Air Plus Comet
(A7/Madrid) for the Barcelona-Shanghai Pu Dong route instead. It has also
signed a cooperation agreement with Conviasa (V0/Porlamar) for the
Madrid-Caracas route.
Air France (AF/Paris CDG) will launch three times weekly A320-200 service
from Paris CDG to Yerevan on March 27. It will also launch three times daily
service from Paris CDG to Katowice on March 26 using Brit Air (DB/Morlaix)
CRJ-100s.
Air Madrid (NM/Madrid) will shortly add three A321s to its fleet to launch
several domestic and European routes to allow connections to its South
American network:

Air Madrid is planning to resume and add new routes to Caracas, Managua, Rio
de Janeiro Intl, Santa Cruz de Bolivia and Sao Paulo Guarulhos. It is
planning to add a second weekly service from Barcelona to Santiago de Chile
in March also making use of its fifth freedom rights out of Fortaleza using
an A330-300.
Air Nostrum (YW/Valencia), Iberia (IB/Madrid) and Iberworld Airlines
(TY/Palma de Mallorca) are planning to set-up a joint low-cost carrier based
in Barcelona using several A320-200s.
Air One (AP/Rome Fiumicino) has ordered 30 A320-200s to be delivered as of
autumn 2006. It will also lease several EMB-170s from March. Air One has
replaced the two ATR 42-300s it had wet-leased from Italy First (IFS/Rimini)
with two aircraft of the same type wet-leased from Avanti Air
(EEX/Siegerland) and DAT - Danish Air Transport (DX/Vamdrup). It has also
announced a major route expansion for the upcoming summer season:
Catania-Rome Fiumicino-Copenhagen: daily B737 service starting on May 13
Genoa-Palermo: 2x weekly B737 service starting on March 26
Naples-Trieste: daily EMB-170 service starting on March 26

Air Turquoise (RT/Reims) will launch daily service from Reims to London

Air Vallee (DO/Aosta) is planning to add two more Do328JETs to set-up a new
base in Trieste.
Air VIA (VL/Sofia) will add two ex-Aero Flight A320-200s to its fleet in
spring.
Alitalia (AZ/Rome Fiumicino) has won the bidding process for Volareweb.com
(VA/Milan Linate). Its biggest domestic competitor Air One (AP/Rome
Fiumicino) is expected to object against this court decision claiming
Alitalia should not have been allowed to bid. Alitalia will resume twice
weekly MD-82 services from Rome Fiumicino to Copenhagen, Dublin and
Stockholm Arlanda on March 27. The last two passenger MD-11s have already
been redelivered to Alitalia after freighter conversion.
Armavia (U8/Yerevan) has launched a new twice weekly A320-200 service
linking Yerevan and Tel Aviv Ben Gurion.
Atlant-Soyuz Airlines (3G/Moscow Chkalovskaya) is planning to add six
B737-300s and EMB-120s to its fleet.
Atlasjet Intl Airways (KK/Antalya) has ordered three CRJ-900 and has secured
options for an additional two aircraft of the same type.
Austrian Airlines (OS/Vienna) will launch twice weekly A319-100 service
between Vienna and Erbil on March 9. It is also considering launching new
routes from Vienna to Chelyabinsk and Tyumen later this year.
AZAL Azerbaijan Airlines (J2/Baku) has temporarily grounded its An-140 fleet
after a fatal accident in Baku earlier this month. It has reactivated
several Tu-134s to replace the An-140s on short haul routes.
BA Connect (TH/Manchester) will be the new brand of British Airways
CitiExpress (TH/Manchester) as of March 27. It will continue to operate a
fleet of ARJ-100s, BAe 146s, Dash 8-300s and ERJ-145s out of bases in
Birmingham, Bristol, London City and Manchester using a simplified low cost
airline style fare structure and single class service.
Belavia (B2/Minsk Intl 2) has resumed twice weekly An-24 service between
Minsk Intl 2 and Berlin Schoenefeld. The state carrier is planning to add
four B737-300s or B737-400s later this year.
Birmingham European Airways (Birmingham) is a new regional carrier planning
to launch several European regional routes out of Birmingham using a fleet
of Jetstream 31s.
Blue Air (Romania) (JOR/Bucharest Baneasa) will launch three times weekly
service from Bucharest Baneasa to Frankfurt Hahn on March 30. It will now
operate a three times weekly Arad-Verona Brescia service instead as of
February 11 instead of operating the same route out of Timisoara as
originally announced. It is reportedly also considering adding an
Arad-Frankfurt Hahn route.
Blue Panorama Airlines (BV/Rome Fiumicino) has given up its routes from
Milan Malpensa, Rome Fiumicino and Venice Marco Polo to Kiev Borispol and
from Milan Malpensa via Phuket to Ho Chi Minh City. It will operate a twice
weekly B767-300ER service from Milan Malpensa via Berlin Tegel and Moscow
Sheremetyevo to Ulaanbaatar between June and September on behalf of MIAT -
Mongolian Airlines (OM/Ulaanbaatar).
bmi british midland (BD/Nottingham) will give up its London Heathrow-Madrid
route by the end of March.
British Airways (BA/London Heathrow) will resume three times weekly B737-400
service from London Gatwick to Kiev Borispol on March 27.
Bulgarian Air Charter (BUC/Sofia) has wet-leased an MD-82 to Mahan Air
(W5/Tehran) for the winter season.
Carpatair (V3/Timisoara) has announced several new routes from its Timisoara
hub:
Timisoara-London Stansted: 3x weekly Fokker 100 service starting on March 27
Timisoara-Lvov: 3x weekly Saab 2000 service starting on January 23
Timisoara-Suceava: 3x weekly Saab 340 service starting on March 7
Central Connect Airlines (Ostrava) has signed a codeshare agreement with
Austrian Airlines (OS/Vienna) for its Ostrava-Vienna route operated twice
daily with Saab 340s.
City Airline (CF/Gothenburg Landvetter) will operate up to five weekly
seasonal services between Gothenburg Landvetter and Visby in June, July and
August using ERJ-145s.
Club Air (6P/Verona) has launched three times weekly BAe 146-200 service
between Palermo and Bari. It will also add a new twice weekly BAe 146-200
service linking Verona and Lvov as of March 28.
Dalmatian Holidays (Split) is planning to launch a low-cost carrier using
several A320-200s or B737-300s. It is also considering adding longhaul
services out of Croatia at a later stage.
Darwin Airline (0D/Lugano) has added a fourth ex-Swiss (LX/Zurich) Saab 2000
to its fleet.
dba (DI/Munich) has announced plans to launch a new route between Hamburg
and Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden.
Dniproavia (Z6/Dnepropetrovsk) will launch twice weekly B737-400 service
from Dnepropetrovsk to Vienna on February 1.
EAE European Air Express (EA/Moenchengladbach) will give up its
Stuttgart-Leipzig/Halle route by the end of February.
Eagle Aviation (France) (EGN/St. Nazaire) will add two ex-Hapagfly
(HF/Hanover) A310-300s to its fleet.
Eastern Airways (T3/Humberside) has wet-leased a Do328-100 from Cirrus
Airlines (C9/Saarbrücken). Eastern will launch six times weekly Jetstream 41
service from Southampton to the Isle of Man on March 6.
easyJet (U2/London Luton) will give up its routes from Berlin Schoenefeld to
Ljubljana, Geneva to Dortmund and Paris Orly to Turin by the end of March.
It has however announced another major expansion:

Estonian Air (OV/Tallinn) will resume three times weekly B737-500 service
from Tallinn to Paris CDG on March 26. It will also launch four times weekly
B737-500 service between Tallinn and Barcelona on May 14.
Eurofly (GJ/Milan Malpensa) has placed a firm order for 3 A350-800s. It has
postponed the launch of its daily A319-100LR operation between Milan Linate
and New York JFK to May.
ExpressJet Europe (Cork) is a start-up carrier partly owned by ExpressJet
Airlines (BTA/Cleveland) which is planning to enter long-term ACMI
agreements with major European carriers. It is considering taking over some
of ExpressJet's ERJ-145 family aircraft or leasing bigger regional jets for
this purpose.
Finnair (AY/Helsinki) will launch a weekly EMB-170 service from Helsinki to
Kiev Borispol in addition to the twice weekly service operated by codeshare
partner Ukraine Intl Airlines (PS/Kiev Borispol).
First Choice Airways (DP/Manchester) will add two more ex-EVA Air (BR/Taipei
Intl) B767-300ERs to its fleet later in 2006.
Fischer Air Polska (FFP/Warsaw) has been taken over by Polish tour operator
podroze.tv. It is expected to be rebranded and to add a fourth B757-200 to
its fleet later this year.
Flybe. (BE/Exeter) will launch three times weekly Dash 8-400 service from
Southampton to Cherbourg on May 24.
Fly Globespan (B4/Edinburgh) has given up plans to launch a new route
between Edinburgh and Bournemouth. It will also give up its
Edinburgh/Glasgow Intl-London Stansted routes by the end of March and
concentrate on international route expansion instead:
Edinburgh-Menorca: weekly B737 service starting on May 27
Edinburgh-Pula: weekly B737 service starting on May 28
Glasgow Intl-Menorca: weekly B737 service starting on May 27
Glasgow Intl-Pula: weekly B737 service starting on May 30
London Stansted-Athens: daily B737 service starting on May 26
Fly Globespan has also announced plans to launch additional longhaul routes
out of Glasgow Intl as well as from Edinburgh and London Stansted at a later
stage using up to 10 aircraft.
flynordic (LF/Umea) will launch twice daily MD-80 service between Stockholm
Arlanda and Malmo on March 27.
Futura Intl Airways (FH/Palma de Mallorca) has set-up Futura Gael (Dublin)
as a subsidiary to get traffic rights for direct charter flights from
Ireland to destinations outside the European Union. It is also planning to
add several B737s for cargo operations.
Gir Jet (GJT/Barcelona) has added an ex-Helvetic Airways (2L/Zurich) Fokker
100. It operates the aircraft on behalf of Spanair (JK/Palma de Mallorca).
Hapag-Lloyd Express (X3/Cologne/Bonn) will add three B737-800s to its fleet
later this spring. It will add two daily flights between Stuttgart and Paris
Orly using a mix of B737-500s and Fokker 100s on March 27.
Helvetic Airways (2L/Zurich) will launch three times weekly service from
Zurich to Pisa on April 12 and twice weekly service from Zurich to Rimini on
May 18 using Fokker 100s.
HiFly (LK/Lisbon) has given up its Lisbon-Funchal route.
Hola Airlines (HOA/Palma de Mallorca) will add a second ex-Air Slovakia
(GM/Bratislava) B757-200 to its fleet.
Iberia (IB/Madrid) will move its daily A320-200 service between Santiago de
Compostela and London Heathrow service to La Coruna as of February 2. It
will also launch four weekly seasonal flights from Palma de Mallorca to
Milan Malpensa and twice weekly seasonal service from Madrid to Catania on
July 22 using CRJ-200s of Air Nostrum (YW/Valencia).
Icelandair (FI/Reykjavik Keflavik) parent FL Group is planning to increase
its stake in Finnair (AY/Helsinki) to 20%.
JAT Airways (JU/Belgrade) is reportedly in talks with Skyteam alliance about
a membership with Air France (AF/Paris CDG) acting as its sponsor. It will
resume twice weekly B737-300 service between Belgrade and Cairo on April 28
and is also considering adding more weekly seasonal routes out of Nis to
destinations such as London Heathrow. JAT has wet-leased a B737-300 to
Bellview Airlines (B3/Lagos).
Jet2 (LS/Bournemouth) is now the official name of Channel Express. The brand
used by the low-cost airline division will now also be used for the
carrier's cargo operations. It will launch three weekly B737-300 services
from Newcastle to Bergen on April 24 and twice weekly service from Blackpool
to Tenerife Sur on October 2.
Jonio Airlines (Brindisi) is planning to wet-lease an ATR 42-500 from White
Eagle Aviation (WEA/Warsaw) to increase the frequency on its Brindisi-Rome
Fiumicino route from twice weekly to twice daily and to launch a new daily
Brindisi-Catania route.
KLM (KL/Amsterdam) will launch three times weekly B777-200ER service from
Amsterdam to Chengdu on May 29. It will however give up its
Amsterdam-Tbilisi route by the end of the winter schedule.
Kras Air (7B/Krasnoyarsk) will launch twice weekly B737-300 service from
Moscow Domodedovo to Stuttgart on March 28. Kras Air is planning to add four
more B737-300s and two additional B767-200ERs to its fleet later this year.
Lagunair (N7/Leon) is planning to launch new seasonal routes from Leon to
Ibiza, Jerez de la Frontera and Menorca in April using its Saab 340 fleet.
Linkair Express (Milan) is a new Italian cargo operator planning to use
several ATR 42-300F freighters on domestic routes.
MAP Jet (MPJ/Vienna) will add two ex-Austrian Airlines (OS/Vienna) MD-83s
and wet-lease the aircraft to Royal Wings (AWS/Amman Marka).
Meridiana (IG/Olbia) will move its base operations from Florence to Pisa
during the airport close of Florence's Peretola airport due to runway
upgrade works between early March and the end of May. Air France (AF/Paris
CDG), Alitalia (AZ/Rome Fiumicino), FlyBaboo (F7/Geneva) and Lufthansa
(LH/Frankfurt) will also move to Pisa and/or increase their frequencies to
Pisa. Carpatair (V3/Timisoara) and Club Air (6P/Verona) will move their
flights to Bologna while Austrian Airlines (OS/Vienna) and SN Brussels
Airlines (SN/Brussels) will use their regular flights into Bologna for
Florence bound passengers.
Nextjet (NTJ/Stockholm Arlanda) will launch twice weekdaily Beech 1900D
service from Stockholm Arlanda via Mora to Sveg on January 9.
Norwegian (DY/Oslo Gardermoen) will inaugurate up to four times daily
B737-300 service between Bergen and Stavanger on March 13. It will also
launch twice weekly B737-300 service from Bergen to Hamburg on May 4.
PGA Portugalia Airlines (NI/Lisbon) will give up its Lisbon-Manchester route
on February 23. It has already given up its Lisbon-Basle/Mulhouse route.
RegionAli (Vicenza) has ceased its operations on the Vicenza-Rome Ciampino
route.
Regional Wings (FWA/Palma de Mallorca) has suspended its operations between
Palma de Mallorca and Menorca. It had used a single ATR 42-500 wet-leased
from Interstate Airlines (Maastricht).
SAS Scandinavian Airlines (SK/Copenhagen Kastrup) has announced several
additional new routes:
Stavanger-Kristiansund: 1x weekdaily Fokker 50 service starting March 27
Stockholm Arlanda-London City: 2x daily ARJ-70 service starting February 13
Stockholm Arlanda-Pisa: 2x weekly seasonal MD-82 service in July and August
SAS will wet-lease an ARJ-70 from Transwede Airways (TWE/Gothenburg
Landvetter) for the new London City services.
SATA International (S4/Lisbon) will launch a weekly A320-200 service from
Ponta Delgada to Amsterdam on May 1.
Sibir Airlines (S7/Novosibirsk) is reportedly planning to add 10
ex-Northwest Airlines (NW/Minneapolis/St. Paul) A319-100s.
Smartwings (QS/Prague) will launch four times weekly service from Prague to
Venice Marco Polo on June 1 using a mix of B737-500s and B737-800s. It will
move its Prague-Rome route from Ciampino to Fiumicino from the end of March.
SN Brussels Airlines (SN/Brussels) will launch twice weekdaily service from
Brussels to Frankfurt on March 27 and will resume four times weekly service
from Brussels to Nice on March 24. It will however give up its
Brussels-Glasgow route.
Solinair (SOP/Portoroz) is reportedly planning to add a B737-200 to its
fleet to launch a low-cost carrier in Italy operating between Verona Brescia
and Rome Fiumicino.
Sterling European Airways (NB/Copenhagen Kastrup) has given up its
Copenhagen-Vienna route.
Sun Express (XQ/Antalya) will launch weekly B737-800 service from Antalya to
Paris CDG on April 10.
Swiss (LX/Zurich) will give up its codeshare agreement with Finnair
(AY/Helsinki) by the end of March.
Tailwind Airlines (Istanbul Ataturk) is planning to launch charter
operations later this year.
TAP Portugal (TP/Lisbon) has announced several new routes to be launched
this summer season:
Lisbon-Bologna: daily A319-100 service starting June 9
Lisbon-Dublin 3x weekly A319-100 service starting June 2
Lisbon-Zagreb: 3x weekly A319-100 service starting June 9 (via Bologna)
TNT Airways (3V/Liege) will add two ex-Axis Airways (6V/Marseilles) BAe
146-200 freighters.
Transaero Airlines (UN/Moscow Domodedovo) has launched a weekly B767-300ER
service from Moscow Domodedovo to Sanya, China. It will also launch a twice
weekly B737-300 service between Moscow Domodedovo and Paphos on March 21.
Transaero is reportedly planning to add a new route from its hub in
Domodedovo to Toronto Pearson soon.
Transavia Airlines (HV/Amsterdam) has announced it will add a new route
between Amsterdam and Olbia later this year.
Travel Service Airlines (QS/Prague) will transfer its single B737-400 to its
subsidiary Travel Service Espana (VSG/Las Palmas).
Turkish Airlines (TK/Istanbul Ataturk) is continuing its rapid network
expansion and has announced/launched 10 more routes out of its Istanbul
Ataturk hub:
Abu Dhabi: 2x weekly B737-400 service
Donetsk: 2x weekly B737-400 service
Dushanbe: weekly B737-800 service
Ekaterinburg: 2x weekly A320-200 service starting on March 26
Helsinki: 3x weekly B737-400 service starting on March 15

THY will also convert four A310-300s into freighters and is planning to
lease them to FreshLine (Frankfurt Hahn).
Viking Airlines (VIK/Athens) will operate scheduled flights in March for the
first time in its history. It will launch a weekly Stockholm Arlanda-Beirut
service on March 16 followed by a weekly Stockholm Arlanda-Athens service
added on March 31 using MD-83s.
VIM Airlines (NN/Moscow Domodedovo) is reportedly planning to take a stake
in regional carrier Karat (V2/Moscow Vnukovo).
Vueling Airlines (VLG/Barcelona) will launch daily A320-200 services from
Madrid to Amsterdam, Lisbon and Milan Malpensa on February 20.
Wideroe (WF/Bodo) will add several new international routes by the end of
March:
Bergen-Edinburgh: 3x weekly Dash 8-300 service starting on March 27
Bergen-Newcastle: 3x weekly Dash 8-300 service starting on March 29

World Focus Airlines (VVF/Istanbul Ataturk) has been sold to Dutch investors
and is planning to resume own charter operations with its three MD-83s and
additional two A320-200s in the upcoming summer season.
