My name is Mackensie. I am a master's student at the University of Montana. I focus on family communication, and how families communicate. I am currently working on a thesis that examines how adoptive families communicate and create family identity.
The aim of this research is to better understand the experiences of adopted individuals in order to better inform adoption practitioners, researchers, and the general public. This study involves participating in a survey that should take roughly 15 to 20 minutes to complete. Participants must be 18 years or older, and adopted, to participate in this survey.
This research allows the opportunity for an expanded definition of what family means, as well as the chance for adoptees to share their stories and experiences. The survey has been approved by the University of Montana Institutional Review Board.
