In a communiqué made public late Saturday evening, the Earth
Liberation
Front (E.L.F.) officially claimed responsibility for the arson attack at
the
U.S. Forest Industries corporate headquarters in Medford, Oregon, on
December
26, 1998. The three alarm blaze resulted in over $500,000 in damages to
the
office which has been the headquarters for U.S. Timber Industries' four
mills:
a plywood mill in Grants Pass, Oregon, a sawmill in Florida, a stud mill
in
Colorado, and the White City veneer mill.
The communiqué from the E.L.F. stated, "To celebrate the holidays
we
decided on a bonfire. Unfortunately for U.S. Forest Industries, it was
at
their corporate headquarters office in Medford, Oregon."
U.S. Forest Industries has been under pressure from
environmentalists
opposed to logging on private lands. In May 1998, environmentalists
protested
the U.S.F.I., opposing logging on private land in Colorado.
The E.L.F., which has a code of nonviolence, has never harmed a
human or
animal, but has taken issue with industries and corporations involved in
environmental destruction and exploitation. "This was done in retribution
for
all the wild forests and animals lost to feed the wallets of greedy fucks
like
Jerry Bramwell, U.S.F.I. president", stated the communiqué.
The communiqué continued, "This action is payback and it is a
warning to
all others responsible, we do not sleep and we won't quit. For the
future
generations we will fight back."
This latest action by the E.L.F. comes just two months after the
arson
attack on Vail, Inc. in Colorado, which caused over $12 million in
damages.

Happy fucking new year from the Earth Liberation Front! To celebrate the

ELFs dropped two five gallon buckets of diesel/unleaded mix and a one
gallon
jug with cigarette delays; which proved to be more than enough to get
this
party started. And after forty to fifty firefighters showed up to our
party,
they were unable to salvage anything, costing these greedy bastards half
a
million dollars. This was done in retribution for all the wild forests
and
animals lost to feed the wallets of greedy fucks like Jerry Bramwell,
U.S.F.I.
president. This action is payback and it is a warning, to all others
responsible we do not sleep and we wont quit. For the future generations
we
will fight back!
