The 2010 Election Day ...
Your U.S. House & Senate have voted themselves $4,700 and $5,300
raises.
1. They voted to not give you a S.S. cost of living raise in
2010 and 2011.
2. Your Medicare premiums will go up $285.60 for the 2-years
and you will not get the 3% COLA or $660/yr. Your total 2-yr loss and
costs $1,600 or $3,200 for husband and wife. Plus they just Medicare
$500 billion Plain enough??????
3. Every member of Congress will get an added $10,000 which is
putting them very close to $ 200,000 per year. Sounds like an elite
class to us.
4. Do you feel SCREWED? They vote themselves a raise and
better benefits. They only care about WE THE PEOPLE on election day,
right? You never did anything about it in the past. The time for
action is near!!!!
5. Do you really think that Nancy, Harry, Chris, Charlie, &
Barnie, et al, care about you? SEND THE MESSAGE-- You're FIRED.

CHANCE TO GET RID OF THE ENTIRE SITTING CONGRESS, Up to 1/3 OF THE
SENATE, AND 100% OF THE HOUSE.
The election in 2010 will be a sea-change to the mindset
of any member of Congress who may survive.
MAKE SURE YOU’RE STILL MAD IN NOVEMBER 2010 AND REMIND THE
REPLACEMENTS NOT TO SCREW UP LIKE THE GUYS THEY ARE REPLACING.

In France, same thing. It is the "perks" that are interesting
not the salaries. They exist also in the various US services
too, there is currently a lot of foreign travel by members of
Congress, more that there has been. And when they travel they
go first class.
With President does not have a great salary compared to the bonus
babies and CEOs. He even has to pay for food the family normally
eats. That is just for show, an element of hypocritical Puritanism
runs through the political system as elsewhere. The American
Presidency is authentically imperial now and has been for a long time.
The French are worse since with time each Presidents takes on the
image of a King of France. He has state residents to
stay at, including chateaux(s), the interior offices and residents
are all gilded in gold.
The Presidential plane, Air Force I is a Boeing 747 but I think
they are going to upgrade that to an Airbus 380. Larger, more
comfortable and has an 18 hole golf course.

The problem in Europe are not the planes but the airports.
French TV news covered Luton last night, it was a disaster
and they are not equipped to handle a lot of snow and
deal with deicing. This kind of situations occurs in the
US when really heavier snow falls or low temperatures
are encountered.
But planes do crash, often it is not the plane but the
pilots. In the following the cause is not yet known
but I will guess in saying the plane landed too
far down the runway and ran off the end. If so
that is more probably pilot than system error.
"During 2004 in the United States, pilot error was listed as the primary
cause of 78.6% of fatal general aviation accidents, and as the primary cause
of 75.5% of general aviation accidents overall.[1]"

Passenger plane crashes in Jamaica injuring 40

KINGSTON � Forty passengers were injured when an American Airlines jet
overran the runway and broke apart late Tuesday at Kingston's international
airport, local authorities told Jamaican media.
Jamaican Information Minister Daryl Vaz told the Jamaica Observer newspaper
that 40 passengers had been hurt and the injured had been taken to the
Kingston Public Hospital, adding that there were no reports of fatalities.
"Preliminary reports indicate there are no serious injuries," American
Airlines spokesman Tim Smith said in a recorded statement.
Flight 331, carrying 148 passengers and six crew members, was en route from
Miami to Kingston, the airline confirmed to AFP.
Local media said the Boeing 737 plane broke apart after landing in heavy
rain at Kingston's Norman Manley International Airport at about 10:00 pm
(0300 GMT Wednesday).
The head of TV Jamaica, Milton Walker, told CNN that a local official had
confirmed four persons had serious injuries, but that most other injuries
were minor.
A passenger told Walker the plane landed normally and that passengers
applauded, but that it failed to come to a stop.
"Then there was a loud bang," Walker said. "That's when they (the
passengers) knew something was wrong, when oxygen masks deployed and also
they noticed the structure of the fuselage started to crumble.
"My information is that it's broken into three pieces," he said.
The airline would not speculate as to any possible cause of the incident,
Smith said, adding that no other details could be confirmed.
The airline is working with US authorities including the National
Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the Federal Aviation Administration
(FAA) Authority, he said.
Typically the NTSB sends teams to the scene of crashes to determine their
cause.
"The plane crashed and broke almost in front of me," passenger Naomi Palmer
told the Observer as emergency vehicles raced to the scene.
