In particular: "...don't follow up to spam postings, lest your posting also
become spam."

I use a Usenet service that removes all spam for me. When you follow up to
spam I get the followups, which I'm really not interested in. What's more, by
following up you may be cross-posting to a number of other lists that aren't
related to alt.acting.
