With an actual fever, and coughing and runny nose. And sleeping a lot.
Probably TB or something... any time now I'm likely to start coughing up
blood flecked phlegm.

So not tuberculosis after all - no blood from the lungs.
Dunno if it's covid, and no way to find out short of a trip to bigtown,
which didn't seem advisable in the situation.

Fever is gone, and coughing more or less back to normal levels, so just
the clogged nose and the fatigue to deal with. Good thing too since I've
pretty much run out of life's essentials and absolutely have to go
shopping tomorrow (today, actually but after sleep).

Good thing I didn't throw out those face masks when the mandate was
retracted - I wouldn't want to inflict whatever-it-is on anyone else
(well, almost anyone).

And then I have some surfaces to clean, I guess...

We have commercially available rapid test so I can test at home. The

one. I probably need to go to the pharmacy for it...

It is getting a bit annoying.

By that metric I should have been back at full strength a week ago.

Those, and the things I should have done in between then and now. And

I have seriously considered that, both for the not mowing and for the
insects. Also there isn't all that muich grass left what with the patch
covered in pine needles and the bits where the moss is winning.

Yebbut your health system probably also doesn't (illegally) postpone a
whole lot of intestinal cancer operations until it's too late causing a
great big scandal.

That does look nice - on the bag at least. It would be nice with a mix
with different flowering periods so there's something going on for a
good part of the year.
Also the anti deer mix seems to be packed with poppies. The idea is
obviously to keep the poor animals stoned all season.

If that is all it takes it hardly qualify as a craving. Depending on the

So you are merely deluding yourself into thinking the chocolate is an
adequate substitute for all the sweets you used to eat? Or is there some
magical property with the chocolate that inhibits the craving?

I said hanging out in coffee shops is an indicator for pretentiousness.
Not quite the same.
I'm still not convinced about the wonderfulness of expensive beverages
with silly names that may of may not contain some coffee related liquid.

Well, they did eventually get rid of lead in petrol - only after
damaging the brain of a whole generation, but still.

I wouldn't know... I was never a smartass.

He kinda had to. Back then the US still used that part of the
constitution that says it's the Congress that decides who to do war
against, and I doubt the votes would have been there.
US never really declared war on anyone during WWII. The Pearl Harbor
attack was regarded as a de-facto declaration by Japan (Fair enough I
think) and then Germany (and Italy too, I think) declared war on US.
(Truly as smart move.)

A couple of hours, usually. Irrespective from the fact that I don't have
a coffee maker ATM, I usually put it in a couple of thermos mugs. The
inevitable loss of heat is preferable to leaving the coffee on the
hotplate for any length of time.

I used to have one of those but the rubber gasket on the lid
disintegrated and it couldn't preserve heat. Also the coffee maker
stopped working - probably because of calcium deposits. Or because the
warranty expired.

Once a month doesn't do it around here. Also we have *special* coffee

It's a long and strict ritual involving boiling water, tea-pots, cups
and bamboo whiskers.. and of course tea leaves.
So you just splash some milk and hot water over a teabag, then?

A) You implied that people who find their tiny teapots aesthetically
pleasing are little.
B) The tiny teapots are from Asia.
Conclusion: Yes.

Tenuous is the best logic.

There is nothing faulty with my logic. Besides it's you who were trying
to deflect by mentioning how tiny people in asia are.

You literally called them "little people".

The context was people in asia being fond of small teapots (and tea). I
inferred.

Stone steles. I have no interest in stealing steel steles. Maybe it's
for the best. At least it will negate the risk of verbal communication
(apart from the occational whispered swear word). I should probably oil
the chain on my cargo bike though. For maximum stone stele stealing
stealth...

Exactly. And stele owners are notorious for having vicious attack dogs.

It is vitally important to do proper research before engaging in stele
stealing.

Definitely. We will need a sufficiently realistic stele proxy, bicycle
oil, tarp and a pack of rabid dogs. Also probably night vision goggles.

[Don't know about holograms but I remember a GFX Bogart being used in a
commercial some time back. The Beatles single was hardly new - it was
recorded while they were still together (and all alive).]

Excellent. I might have some bicycle oil.
Now we only need a sufficiently realistic stele proxy and a pack of
rabid dogs. And night vision goggles.
