Did you say Happy Fathers Day to your dad?
I sure did. Because my dad could have been like some men who just run
when a woman gets pregnant or when the child is born. He didn't, he
stood by my mom and helped raise me. He was the best influence on my
life. I watched him struggle and never give up. He never asked anyone
for a dime, he worked his way through everything.
He always made sure food was on that table and a roof was over our
head.
We were not rich and you do you know what? Looking back, I'm glad we
were not. Because I think we learn to appreciate things much more
when we don't have things given to us.
There are men out there who love abortion because it's their way out.
They don't care about the woman, don't be fooled into thinking they
do. Her choice? He don't care, but if she chooses to abort and he
gets out of those child support payments he will make you believe he
cares.
Then there are men who will stand by her side, regardless of her
decision. He will choose to be a dad, not a runner. He will want to
play ball with the child or take his daughter to her first dance. He
is going to teach his son how to change the oil and he is going to
check out the daughters boyfriends.
So I said Happy Fathers day, just as my kids said it to me. Because
I, like my dad, chose to be a Dad.
Happy Fathers Day to all those men who stood up and decided to be a
man. Happy Fathers Day to those who love their children and are there
for them.
