eat. Such refusal usually resulted in the transfer of the individual to
a hospital where he received vitamin injections and nutritious food.

dently attempts of this kind to commit suicide arouse the greatest
concern
in communist officials. If deprivation of tobacco is the control being
exerted. the victim can gain moral satisfaction from "giving up"
tobacco.
