I've decided to try and make a banner/logo for a site I'm working on purely
in 3dmax(because of the animation requirements I need in the logo, instead
of crappy grafics), but one problem I have is can I later export it as an
animated gif file and if so will it be too big? I've rendered a draft of it
as I go, which still hasn't been finished but the total animation will be
75frames and lasts only 2 sec. as an avi it's sitting at a size of
685kb.(since it's 75frames, it would be too taxing to take each rendered
pic, and plug them into a gif builder). Another thing, is is it possible to
make a flash movie instead of a gif animation?(if the gif thing just isn't a
practical option...) any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in

Hi!
Yes you can save as gif, when you render, just choose gif as the format
instead of avi!
Btw i think 75 frame is way too much for a 2 sec movie, 10 could better for
a gif!

Then if you want to have a flash movie, you have 2 options:
1:there's a plug-in out there that use 3ds max mesh to make vector graphics
so it's very little in size but i don't think it's what you are looking for
if you want a good looking movie with maps and stuff like that.(and i don't
recall the name of the plug-in)

2: you save you're animation as .bmp and then you import them into flash!

hope it help!

Save the animation as still images (gifs).
There are a small, cheap and even free software for making "Gif Animation"
with optimialisation fo web.

yea i've forgot, 75 frame is still too much for a 2 sec movie even if you
make a flash movie!
usually you use around 12-20 frames/sec in flash!

so 24 frames for the 2 sec movie could be a good idea if you want to keep
the size relatively low!

see ya!

Hi all,

I have been having an odd problem while trying to use block controllers for
simple animations. I seem unable to get the block controller to record TCB
rotation. For example, when I assigned an animation of a cart rolling forward
with its wheels rotating, the block controller reproduced the forward movement
but the wheels stopped spinning.

Is this supposed to happen- if so why, and is there any way to get around it?

any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers,
myki.
