Use the animated gif98 builder. Whatever it's called. Gif builder I think.
I used this before, works pretty well. Used it for a homepage...

Gif Constuction Set is too old and ugly!

Gif Movie Gear 2.02+ is better for now.

I got a program called Smacker, it would do just that. It convertes all
picture formats to Fli, or AVi, and back again. It is also a palate
(colour) compresser, its quite good!!

Its freeware, just search the websites for Smacker. Enjoy!

Heya...I don't know about AVI files...but if you're using 3DSMAX, you can
render your files to FLIC format. On 3D Cafe's Web Site, they've got a
nifty little commandline utility that will convert .FLI's to animated
GIF's...

Just render to numbered GIFs, not to FLIC.
Then use any Gifanimation prog.

Look into GIF Construction Set by Alchemy Mindworks (
http://www.mindworkshop.com/alchemy/alchemy.html ). The last few versions
have had a wizard that takes an .avi and creates an animated .gif file.

A real time saver.
