Sossidge Sandwich:

Take a couple of cold, left-over sossidges from the fridge.
Split 'em, lengthwise.
Fry 'em gently on their cut face.
Slip 'em between two buttered slices of your preferred sandwich bread.
Add Brown Sorse (HP, o' course), salt and pepper.
Tuck in.
Yum.

This is my recipe, which is mine.

A slight variation on mine, which uses Colmans or German mustard. :-)

But, "left over sossidges". Are they a real thing?

Truly, left over sossidges are a rare beast in our house.
But still, every once in a while, there's a herd of 'em
come by; I always try to snag a couple of stragglers.

Glad to hear it. Have you been given a date for your
second jab yet? My M-I-L has had hers. I think we may
have moved by the time we are texted to get our second
jab, so we'd have to travel back to London to get it.

No, no cabin fever yet. I did paint a kitchen pantry, took me 2 days.
I'm proud of how it turned out... have gone to admire it several
times.

LOL I have the same habit whenever I do anything, at the moment I keep looking at my snowdrops which I planted last year. Pretty soon I am going to start decorating again, I love using chalk paint and "distressing" a piece of furniture to give it an entirely new look. I would love to learn decoupage or how to use transfers on furniture especially on a dresser.

I once helped a friend 'distress' a brand new chest of drawers.
She had painted it with 2 colors, and scratched it with steel
wool and vinegar around the drawer pulls. My job was to slam it
with a chain. We got into the wine and I think we over-stressed
it, but she was pleased and that's what counts.

LOL I have done all that except thrash it with chains. Many years ago a friend bought a reproduction Georgian sideboard, she distressed it by shooting with with birdshot!!

Now I'm remembering how my teen uncles begged our grandpa
for expensive trendy ripped jeans. Gramps bought brand new
jeans, took them out in the woods and 'distressed' them with
a shotgun.

Thing is, they looked pretty good after a few washings. ;)

Am I alone in finding it strange that it is considered OK (even trendy)
to walk around in trousers that I wouldn't have been let out of the
house in when I was a kid. Or have I turned into a grumpy old git ?

I was just about managing to get by with "Well OK at least the tears
won't get bigger soon" when I saw jeans with built in grime - I mean we
used to have to jbex uneq to get grime that stayed.

;D Ain't it the troof? What gets my grumpy knickerbockers in a
knot is metal face piercings... can't concentrate on what someone
is saying when they have a ring through their nose like a bull...
or through their lips. How do they blow their nose, or eat lunch?

Hi Ahem, pull up a chair and have a cuppa.

WIWALass I had a teen uncle who was trying to be a bad biker and
hid his grimy greasy jeans and jacket from Gran on laundry day,
but she always found them and scrubbed 'em up nice and clean
again. She didn't buy his tale of trying to waterproof them.

I never understood piercings (where ever they are). I can sort of go
along with the "convention" that ladies have one at the bottom of each
ear (but certainly wouldn't expect it).

That's good to hear. I do not like being poked
and prodded and pulled about in hospital.

A couple of my former neighbours were on dialysis for years and
both seemed able to lead pretty full and cheerful lives; I hope it's
the same for you, Judith. It sounds as though medical science has
made progress in the several decades since I knew them, they both
had all day dialysis sessions every three or four days; nightly sounds
much more manageable.

I'm happy, determined and grateful, I am looking at holidays. I need to give the medical company 2 months notice and they will ship all the dialyzing fluid direct to the hotel. Now in 2 months time, where shall I go?????? One down little thing, I can't ever swim in the sea again, that's a bummer but a small price to pay for my life.

Doesn't it rather depend on who's doing th pulling and prodding, and where?
